The front row is 10.5 feel from screen to eyeballs with the seats up and a little further back reclined. The back row is another couple of feet back. The 10.5 feet is a good distance for me, close enough to be "in" the movie and far enough so you can see the whole screen without moving your head around.

Thanks. The lock is a way to restrict access to the theater without me having to carry a key around every time I want to open it. My 18 year old brother-in-law lives with us. :)

jesse makes a good point...we've got a standard 106" fixed screen, picking up an hdmi projector feed, on one end and a 65" dlp built-in on the other end of our basement...a couch on either side wall and 4 swivel recliners in the middle of the room...some black paint on a couple walls and some recessed lighting...doesn't look extremely professional but a job done on $200 materials and $3000 equipment...we couldn't be happier

if you have the right room, you can make your own theater for under $2500. it wont be the highest quality gear but it still awesome.

Projectors can be found for under $700, 1000 watt surround sounds can be found for $350. if you got a ps3 you already have a blu ray player. and you can sit on any sofa.

if youre a handy man you can run down to Lowes grab some lighting, paint and trim and make it even better for $300 more bucks.

What are you talking about? There are 7 speakers plus 2 subs. The first columns do not have speakers in them and there are speakers in the top back corners.

No, it is audio transparent fabric over a wooden frame. The speakers and subs are on the left and right of the screen and the center channel is behind the screen.
