  • "I used to wash my motherboard in the sink.....until I took an arrow to the knee"-Pedobearmobile TRolololol

  • So many idiots on the comments

  • HOLLY FUCK you can do that

  • You can wash electronics, provided they're dry when you run power through them (shorting, duh).

  • I'm pretty sure you shouldn't put computer parts in water...

  • @AustinAlexanderAW :) Not true ;) There is no real danger of putting it in water. Honestly, I wouldn´t do it with my 300$ X58 but with some old ones its perfectly good ;) Then only throw it in the oven and then dry it at ~50C Air! not more ;) Then after some hours lay it down somewhere and if you are sure its dry, you can use it again ;)

  • I'd suggest waiting a couple hours after removing the battery to allow electricity to dissipate from the capacitors.

  • while we're at it why not put it in a washing machine

  • thanks...i have an idea...ill take my motherboard with me in the bathtub during taking my bath...LOL...

  • electronics + water = Fireworks yeah

  • Not only will your computer run faster after washing the MoBo, it will smell fresh as a rose after a spring rain. LoL Honestly? I would gladly pay the price of a new MOBO NOT to have to give one a bath!

  • now hook it all up and plug it in you dumb fuckin faggot! i bet you won't!

  • @paintbrawl it'll work. It is only bad if there's an electrical current going through it while it is wet.

  • Even if this actually works. I wouldnt do this because i dont even want to risk even the smallest amount of putting water on my motherboard.

  • he threw cables in the sink! why he didn't threw the motherboard in the sink!

  • I studied electronics for several years and there is nothing wrong with washing the board. I know of cell phones that fell into pools and still worked after that as long as the battery was taken out at once and the rest of the phone left in pieces to dry.

I believe the water here is going to act as an antistatic agent anyway.

In a dry climate static is an issue but in a humid one its not so much.

  • Mr. FinkFonkFunkaal is relying on human nature to take its course and get him more traffic and views for his videos. People love to watch an idiot or see someone doing something stupid. It gives them fuel for conversations for days. So they tell everyone who will listen and Mr. FFF gets his traffic....NO?

  • @PugDaddyUSA Water only becomes a problem with electronics if there is a current.

As long as you make sure it's 100% dry before using it. It will work.

It's not so much stupid as that it goes against a belief that most people who are not educated in the subject have. It's sort of like the science experiment that hot water will freeze faster than cold water. Extremely counter-intuitive, which is what makes it interesting.

  • I think I am having a heart attack

  • i cant tell if this person is serious or not...

  • I was given a computer the other day loaded with roaches. I took it a part a washed. i am on it on.

  • took apart a used stove i picked up for $40, its like new, but left dirty by owners who were forclosed on. sat a year, now the board in the controll center is covered in roach shit. So my question is, How do I bake it after I wash it if the oven is no working yet? How will i wash the one in the dishwasher?

  • I've had to do this for people who haved smoked cigarettes next to their computer all day for a year or two. Canned air won't touch the tar and dust crap caked to their motherboard.

Protip for all the disbelievers: Water only hurts electronics if they're powered on when they get wet. Water is not going magically dissolve your motherboard and damage it people, just don't turn it on while it's wet and make sure it has dried completely before you power it up.

  • why would somebody do that? i see the point of cleaning dirty fans. this is just stupid.

  • You got a bottle of Jäger on your working desk? lol

  • 67 Dislikes? I guess people now a days aren't as smart as they used to be.

  • What about static electricity when you use the hair blower at the end? I have always been told to keep those and vacuum cleaners far away from computers?

  • LMAO good tip im gonna try it with mine now lol

  • Why do you have to dry it?

  • I clean my dog with canned air.

  • The only problem with his method is that he wasn't using an anti-static wrist strap to avoid ESD while removing the CMOS.

  • @sechlerm Iv worked on Well over 100+ computers and i have never worn a Anti-Static wrist wrap. The chances of somebody Shocking a motherboard are very low.

  • I almost cry when i saw you doing that to your motherboard...me, I'm so afraid of even touching the damn thing but you really raped yours baby...this can't be a safe method...

  • I've seen plenty of water cooled computers but this is taking it 1 step too far!! lol

  • We used to put our keyboards in the dishwasher! Light wash with little soap.

  • valetudinarian

  • s-o speli pe mata la cur cu spuma de sapun....bocite-ar nemu de prost!!! :))) (RO)

  • why are you spanking it?

  • Better yet, throw your whole rig in there! :D

  • Why don't you throw you're whole computer in it? And set it on fire to let it dry. Saves a lot of time. I did in to. But the motherboard burnt to long. I can't use it anymore :P

  • this sink looks like something from a horror movie XD

  • lol hair dryer FTW !!

  • i felt like the motherboard just got owned :(

  • Funny that you didn't show the footage where you installed the motherboard and powered it up. First thing that makes me go hmmmmm..

Next would be sheer science. When water and oxygen come in contact with most of the metals found on your motherboard (especially copper) oxydization begins. Immersing it in water with scrubbing bubbles???? That's just a recipe for disaster.

Yeah maybe your motherboard will post and yeah maybe it will all work but I wonder for how long.

  • My god he unleashed his entire storage of cum on that motherboard! o_o

  • am i crazy or is this dude insane? he didnt even show it turning back on and working! scam!!!!

  • am i crazy or is this dude insane?

  • This is beyond r-tarded. Use compressed air. You shouldn't ever buy Scrubbing Bubbles period, its nasty stuff. I've come across one board dirty enough to require more than compressed air. It was from an engine machine shop and was caked in grease and oil. QD Contact Cleaner from the Auto Parts store did a great cleaning it rather quickly. No heat or water required.

  • lol. that bottle of jager in the video when he was useing the hair dryer must have been what gave him this this amazing idea :3

  • Stupid is as stupid does....everybody knows you wash mother boards on the gentle cycle....

  • I washed my M3A78-em motherboard like this, and it still works fine. I also put in my Radeon 4870 video card, my harddrive, my CPU, and my heatsink. Everything is working as it should.

  • WHY

  • It not a fucking Oreo quit dunking it

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • he' s obviously taking the piss out of us so everyone get over it

  • diid it work after u cleaned it

  • if that thing worked the way you washed it in and the way you hit it you are very lucky!!!LOL

  • Comment removed

  • @Ironwind1972 I've done this with old motherboards and they always work fine afterward. Rust, mildew, mold, moisture and water are not a problem because the parts don't stay wet very long.

  • they clean the boards so you don't HAVE TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooo!

  • i liked the part when i wrote this comment then fucked off

  • LOL, thats funny.

  • Eww thats an old motherboard, doesnt even use SATA cables :)

  • the point of this was....

  • putting electrical parts in water is stupid, but putting it in soapy water is the wors thins you can do.

  • i know you're using a socket7 mobo.....same as mine...

  • how much faster do u think it was when he was done???? im gonna try also.

  • i just jizzed in my pants

  • you are so smart, i would have never thought of that. and the cell phone thing- i need you to tell me the rest, !! the tennis ball thing is cool- i had no idea u could bake a ball lol

  • This will work but you should really carefull if some parts are not dryed it will couse electrical circuts, based on my opinion

  • It was painful enough to watch you soak that MB in a water. But then you pulled out some weird Scrubbing Bubbles, ohh. The most that a computer has in it, is dust. Except when you don't throw some soda on there. I'd just use a can of compressed air.

  • @x0myspace0x I was also horrified by this.

  • I back my mobo's but I always use olive oil they come out golden brown, cruchie and delicious...

  • That board would work fine as long as no current touched it when it was wet.

  • can you really do this to your computer parts? i'm gonna use isopropyl alcohol and cotton balls. Wouldn't the parts rust???? This seems kinda dumb to do.

  • This is definitely a prank...right..right???

  • I did this a serveral times and it works, but make sure you removed the CMOS battery and you wait AT LEAST 2 days to dry.

If your PC doesn't turn on anymore, or only black screen, wait a few days more to dry.

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha this the best video ever

  • watching this was suprisignly difficult lol, very painful

  • Theres a reason hes doinfg this to a 15 year old motherboard

  • 1. I think im going to vomit 2. wtf 3. im baffled.

  • you can do that? o_O

  • @fshando

No it will kill the electronics and components. I think this supposed to be humorous.

    Fail.

  • Its perfectly safe. Actually every 6 months I clean my laptop by inserting it into the washing machine.

  • This is the stupidest thing I have ever seen in my life... :/

  • i guess in theory this is possible, when mobos and other cards are manufactured they are washed and baked b4 they are distributed for sale.

  • what would you gain from going to all that trouble?? is there a risk ?

  • I really would like to clean my motherboard. But every fiber in my being says water and electrical components don't mix. Something about the word corrosion that scares me. This might be the way you to do it. But I could not do it this way.

  • Wow, youre smart!

  • 1985 called. It wants its video back.

  • dang ur using a freaking AT motherboard?

  • im guessing you got a new motherboard and you decided to have some fun lol

  • WTF this is extreme. Had anyone else tried it? PLease tell me if its working or not still.. thanks..

  • Naah, he didnt need to just put it down and up, have the same idea done it many times never failed even re animated a dead mobo and a vga card. Hot Biling like water in a tub or under the running water,

  • take a strong brush and shampoo or soap. First Start with just removing dust and dirt with water, then pour tooth paste and only after removing that stuff, brush it with shampoo, and yes use hair dryer carefully, you dont wanna melt components, wait few hours aand keep it under warm air ventilated place actually, cold ok also, hair dryer it again and walla new shiny and ready to go.

  • HAHAHAHAHA i love it.

  • haha

  • He must of worked for microsoft at some point in his life :)

  • This works perfectly fine.. Just let it dry REALLY good. Use some air spray thingy and blow away as much water as you can and then leave it over to dry.

  • This worked great. I had a motherboard that met a cup of kool-aid (long story). It worked after it dried, however it would shut down every few minutes. I figured it was related to the dried sugar sitting on the mobo and gave this a shot and sure enough, two drying days later it worked perfectly.

  • I like this vid. The best part about this is peoples reaction/comments. :P

  • Tu sei scemo!!!

Mettere la mainboard nell'acqua sbatterla spuzzargli addosso quella merda e poi asciugarla col phon...

Ma se hai i soldi da buttare nel cesso divertiti pure!!!

  • O_O wtf r u on?

  • logic tells you this isnt smart....

but hey. if it works it must be true :D

  • loool. why shall i wash my computer .p its a f*** mashine. just buy a new one. lol.

Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some guys violate that law every day.

  • What law? And yes you can buy a new motherboard. You local computer store will be glad to show you the way!

    Welcome to the Mashine!

    watch?v=5_xLkmQcTdY

  • Hey look, its an very old motherboard.... and if you just let it dry so wouldnt it be any kind of problem^^

  • @rebellis13 Yea Idiot, just buy another one and up to the capitalism and dumb consumption society, poor ass hole american boy

Great Video, I just use "contact cleanner" on mine but if this work, is ok!

  • @rebellis13

The boards were washed before leaving the factory to remove soldering paste and resin. I've washed hundreds of boards during production in my early days of engineering, many by hand. As long as you get all the water out, we used compressed air followed by a low temp oven, you'll be fine.

You have to be absolutely sure ALL of the water is out from under the SMT components.

Very hot water, compressed air, heat. Denatured alcohol and a brush is great for removing solder residue.

  • I would try this with a Shuttle FN41SP SFF motherboard I have, but I don't wanna risk it.

  • I use a mix of alcohol water and regular soap, blow it dry afterwards with a compressor et voila indeed. Shiny shiny ;)

(hmmm have to do it again for my computer indeed *looks at a very dusty inside*)

  • can you bake the motherboard at 100 degrees F?

  • Why not?

When I played tennis, I would bake my balls.

When a ball is played out it loses its bounce. Wrap the tennis balls in aluminum foil and bake for 10-20 minutes at 125-130 degrees F. The balls bounce will come back. Experiment with the time and temp. I think it is closer to 10 minutes.

You can also bake cell phones if you drop them in the toilet or lake. Be careful on the temp with a cell phone. I wouldn't exceed 110F.

  • @FinkFonkFunkaal Don't forget to feed your mother board when you're done bathing it okay .. LOLZ

  • @FinkFonkFunkaal lol

    "I would bake my balls"

Do you know how awkward that sounds? XD

No offense meant, I thought you were realy talking about your balls until I read the rest.

  • you fucking idiot, ovens have a minimum of 250-350F

  • Is that right. Whois the idiot now?

  • you for thinking an oven can do 120F

  • @FinkFonkFunkaal When I played tennis, I would bake my balls. hahaha (y)

  • you fucken turd face, i ought drop a load of jizz sauce on your neck and face.

  • wow are you PMSing little boy?

  • yeah what are you gonna do about it old man jenkins

  • juding by the age in your name, i'm younger than you fucking idiot.

  • do something old man.

  • Old man? When did 23 become old?

  • @OredhotchilipeppersO No I think you are the idiot, our ovens lowest temp is 170F

  • @OredhotchilipeppersO WOW seriously... my oven is WAY OVER ITS LIMIT i mean it cooks stuff at lets say idk 400F like most things are to be cooked at...

  • @1987dman yea i think so i put my motherboard in the dish washer last night and it still works fine :) its was a old motherboard by the way Intel p4

  • Ye, i had to wait 2 days before i coud use it.

  • 3:48 Lol.. very carerful-.^

  • nice but i hate the waiting part so i will pass

  • you have to wait a good amount of days for it to be dry. You don't wanna risk anything being wet in between the plugs!

  • sorry to reply to a comment a year ago, hate boosting. ^^ But i actually did this about a year ago. (DO NOT WAIT FOR WATER TO DRY) Immediately use a hair dryer on it until its dry. Try to get off and out as much water as you can. If you just leave it to air dry you will leave water deposits on it. Not to mention water has microscopic metals in it that can cause circuits to jump... Frying your motherboard. I used this method + hair dryer. Back working again within an hour. @wolfrider910

  • HAHA! nice man.. funny vid u got here.

  • Does it still working Dude?

  • Yes. I'm still using the computer to this day.

  • I'm sorry but i don't really believe u. It is imposible that this still going to work after washing with water, in a matter of time your mobo is going to be very dirty again, this is waste of time, there's lots cleaning way other than that. It's up to u guys to follow if you wanna waste your money & time.

  • Never say never. :-) This method does work, don't forget that there are guys that use case modding and transparent windows and want to exhibit their pc, so they have to keep it as shiny and clean as a diamond. Yes you can clean the mobo with water BUT you have to wait for it to dry some days before you plug it again. Because if even a drop remains, it can cause a short circuit. One solution is to use the hair dryer, and then let the mobo for 1 week in a room to dry by itself. I used this method

  • THE CRAZIEST IDEO I'VE EVER SEEN!!!!

  • Thanks, glad you liked it.

  • heheheheh

I found comp in the river (heheh it is quad core).. I am cleaning it (only) with water (for now)... I am praying like hell that it will work when I turn it on (at least cpu)...

  • For real?

  • well i gived a try with my old computer that it was for trash anyway i after i pressed the power on button sparks came from motherboard and made a big kaboom and the electricity of my home cut off xDD

  • No, you have to wait for some days so the board can totally dry. I waited for a week, and then it was ok.

  • hmm.....

he didn't show himself reinstalling it and powering it on, post-wash...

    lol

  • even tho i know this is safe and do-able im still to scared to do it lol.

  • AJAX was here

  • Comment removed

  • hehehe nice to know...

I will use WC-Duck cleaner next time to see what happens.... hehehhee

  • i tryed this and it fucked up....So fuck you

  • The Jaggermeister comes last not first. Better luck next time.

  • You fucked up :) You did not wait enough for water to evaporate.I do this all the time, not with PC board's but with similar type board's.After a wash you have to make shure all the water is gone.If you are not 100% , then wait 48 hours to evaporate.

  • how long is 48 hours?

  • To figure that out,you have to by something that is called watch.

  • 2 days

  • 4:18 Jägermeister Hell yea! lol

  • you guys do realize that there are no electrons creating a good enough current here so it's all good right? When it comes down to it, most electronics are okay to do this to. As long as you dry it before you turn it back on.

  • What about the BIOS CHIP

  • I did this as a very last resort on an old motherboard that was presumed dead. Just used ordinary water and dishwash soap in my bath tub. and blew off all the water with an air compressor, and left it to dry. and now it works, been running for 2 weeks so far.

    Good for old expandable hardware.

  • expendable

  • I have gotten many raised eyebrows for using water to clean electronic components, I displace with rubbing alcohol. Place in a hairspray bottle and provide the hairdryer and allow a couple days, seriously, good to go!

  • a motherboard is not a pet.

  • hAHAHHAHAHAHA

  • @ElAlexxis LOL FUCKING RIGHT

  • ok keep in mind, DRY is relative, sooo: electronics are "dry" when molecular level stuff is in check (or dry). Get those lamps going for ( just a random aporx) 2 hrs. This procedure is really done using only distilled h2o as far as I know, and is a crazy last resort-smoker's pc-rats lived in the case-aspbestos party survivor pc kind of thing.

  • kuods on youre bold tech methods, man. another good thing to consider doing to mobos, is reflowing with a hair dryer. Look up vids and stuff online before turning your hair dryer at the mobo, since some components shuoldn't be heating up beyond certain temps (use insulation like aluminum foil to cover things like the north and south bridge, etc)

  • so much faster if u just blow the dust off with a air compresser

  • I think I'm going to have to try it myself and make a video response, I really want to see what happens, watch this space!

  • Aslong as its completely dry before starting back up, your fine.

  • its not new. i know motherboard can be wash and ive seen guys in tech forum do it all the time with old mobo, but i dont think anyone can do this on expensive/ latest mobo no matter how dirty it is (those ones with lg775 socket or those mobo that are for dual or quad cores cpu). eventhough its also doable on those latest mobo, i highly doubt anyone would dare to wash 200 buck mobo and stick a expensive cpu with it.

  • Holly sh**! is that for the purpose of cleaning main board? are you kidding? hi risk man....

why don't you just use clean cloth n compress air instead?????

    LOL

  • The End.. Thats mothrboard not working enymore

  • I really don't think this works on the latest high-end motherboards.

  • Might work for a motherboard running Windows 3.1 or lower... But for anything more advanced than that, I'd suggest using compressed air instead lol.

  • Wow! Can you just wash a motherboard?! i didn't know that. is there any cons about it?

  • yeh there is

    it's called mobo dysfunfuctional.

  • now i know why he did this i can see that bottle of jager sitting there on the table lol

  • ~recently spotted on EBAY:

    PERFECT MOBO 4-sale (LIKE NEW!!!!)

    or

WOW!!! NOS MOBO (my loss is your gain)...

  • You're not allowed to say 'like new' on a previously owned item. If one uses the words 'like new' they run the risk of suspension.

I'd word it like this; Neat and Clean, 30 day money back guarantee.

Only the strong motherboards survive. If your motherboard makes the first five minutes of power then you got no worries.
