my science teacher once told me that animals dont have any feelings, its just instinct. Really? is it instinct for a dog to jump on you and and wag his tail when u get home after a long day of work? is it instinct for a cat to come straight up to you and rub against your leg untill you pet him? is it instinct for elephants to sorrow over a dead herd member for weeks at a time? god put these animals on earth for a reason, and its not to be mindless beast who just eat and shit, were animals too
proffessors right, animals do feel intensly, its a matter of mind over matter. wild animals in their environments getting more experience circum navigating other species and continuously interlocking and indulging themselves with each of them makes for a specimen that shows in his actions and characteristics wisdom and experience from the trials and relations with its world. this happens to all of us and by us i am refering to all life, all organisms and species. for we are all of the same
My dog bullet is the best pet I've ever had. It totally breaks my heart when I leave him at home. The look in his eyes when he doesn't get to go could make a grown man cry. No one could ever convince me that he's not hurting when I have to tell him that he has to stay home. I can just tell he's devistated. If it was up to me I'd take him everywhere other than to work. Animals definently feel all the emotions we do. I know he loves me.
It's quite obvious animals experience emotions like human beings do. Cows cry when their calves are taken from them, camels cry, they feel happiness, and sadness, and excitement. Animals pretty much act on pure instinct, also, every move they make is pretty much to survive and propagate their particular species. 1 thing humans do, that animals don't (generally speaking), is reason, and ponder our existence, and the existence of God, our world, etc.
Do we all remember when the "Civilized World" used to think that Native, or African Peoples were not human, had no soul and were just another animal species? and this right in own front yards and no too long ago? We are still under a very selfish and egotistic cloud from which we must escape by giving animals their due respect and place in our Universe as sentient, living creatures, able to experience pain, terror, happiness and fear to death.
animals are ALL EMOTION. they have no intellectual center. this is what makes them so simple. so they have no thoughts to interfere with what they experiance in the world. we all KNOW certian things just by knowing them and not having to think about it. this is the way animals are, and in my opinion are smarter in a way because they do not have all the mental garbage in thier mind that interferes with a humans relationship to his life around it.
I believe that animals' emotions are more intense than humans, because humans have more distractions. They desire material things and superficial things. Many disregard relationships as important.
Humans and animals have same Creator, so there are many similarities between humans and animals. Yet animals and small children are much closer to their Creator in them than grown-ups. Harmonious animals and i high degree also harmonious small children are in general moved by God`s omnipresent spirit
Any truth to the statement that people have pets because they have problems/issues getting along with other people? In other words, a pet replaces a human.
Wouldn't it be funny if animals pondered whether or not humans had emotions? Or whether or not humand could think? Or just assumed outright that we couldn't?
i discovered another emotion! When my hamster died, I was all alone, sad and crying. But my dog came to me and started to rub on my pants. She wanted me to pet her and she wanted to cheer me up. And once when I thought I broke my little toe, I cryed, and she was really upset! She walked all around the living room, around me, and she was acting so sad, she cried too on her doggy language! Emotions discovered - fellowship and love
ive expierneced a similar thing, once i was so sick i couldnt move and my dog came up to me and started rubbing on my arm and licking my face, people who say animals have no emotions or souls obviously have never had a connection with an animal themself
my dog hates cats when I'm with her. She starts chasing them, barks and tries to murder it somwhow. But when I'm not around, and when my neighbours kitten comes to our background and my dog is there, they start playing and chasing around, with no aggression. But when I come out, my dog pretends that she chases the cat and barks, and the kitten goes away. But when I go back inside, I watch them through the window in the exact same position. That shows that pets feel jelousy and friendship
Also, they may have spent time around a dog/cat that just may be lazy, or seem dull. That may just be it's personality. What some people fail to realize is, they're not all the same. :P
Just because they're not human doesn't mean something doesn't feel. Of course they have emotions. People who don't think they do have probably never spent much time around an animal for anything other than study. That claim is just pure arrogance.
I believe that stray cats can become healing cats. if you have been hurt and adopt a lost cat,he will be so grateful, he will sense your need and try to fix you.I found a little kitten someone dumped in the park, high in a tree. He was meowing. My son was very lonely and ignored everyone(especially me).The little cat took to him and lays in his lap, asking for petting, following him with her eyes. She is completely his.He loves her too.
Only the unperceptive doubt animals show emotions. My cats show not only love, fear, & playfulness, but many human-like feelings -sadness, compassion, annoyance, etc. I've seen more than one cat that felt it was ignored & not happy about it, make a dramatic entrance to sit with their back facing their person, as if saying, "I can ignore you, too". I believe observance of animals is where we humans get so many of our expressions, in this case, "I turn my back on you".
Having 2 dogs and working with Australian wildlife every day I KNOW they have emotions. Thankfully the emotion they do not share with humans is hate, and that is our downfall as a species. It continues to cost us dearly!
Once again Mike thanks for sharing. Looking forward to Part 2 of this sequence.
That's called an oxmoron & also irony, you're using a machine to which the existence of was made possible due to scientists in order to call them morons. Perhaps you're a moron for saying "Some scientists say no because scientists are fucking stupid". So because "some" scientists have said no; by your moronic definition of moron, this is an exemplification that scientists are intrinsic morons? What weak hypocritical induction. That was so fair to the remainder of scientists who don't say no...
Oh and talk about narrow-minded, well you're just all full of shit, hypocrisy and contradictions aren't yuh girl? One of real science's (not to be mistake with pseudo-science) main objectives is being completely unbiased so please stop projecting
FIRST!!! My dog loves me.. Not only that, he thinks he's the King of the world.. He also thinks he owns the bed. He only eats Humans Food, not lousy Dog Food. Come to think of it, he has me wrapped wround his Little Toe Nail. Not only does he have emotion, he's also pretty Smart (or I'm really Dumb).

it is so stupid and illogical to think that animals have no emotions!!!
You kick a dog-> He cries NOT rocket science!
Anyway, I have 7 cats and 2 dogs, I see their emotions EVERY SINGLE DAY, so obviously whoever thinks this is blind and deaf!

Wow scientists are actually using taxpayers money to see if animals have emotions...amazing. And these people are scientists?

Jenny is such a little angel. My dog is very selfish and hates cats. He'd just tease and scare the poor little stray and injured kitties.
And it is extremely arrogant to think only humans can feel emotions, empathy, etc. All animals can feel those things to a certain point.
