I didn't see your reply until today. Guapo, the shamo doesn't mind snow at all. I am a white boy who really digs asian birds. I live in WA state. My friend who helps with the birds knew some hmong families when she lived in Minneapolis, She said she liked the food! Guapo likes her A LOT more than he likes me!!! And he can hit hard to prove it! Have you heard of the Thai Indigenous Chicken and Development Association?
Thanks for the view and the comment. I have only seen Thai birds in pictures but there is much to admire about them! We are thinking about adding some and a few other Asian Gamebirds to the flock this spring. How do they like the snow?
Guapo and I live in Washington State. In Japan I thought Shamo were considered national treasures - they should be anyway. We got our birds from a US breeder, not sure of the bloodline. They were only offered for one year, but I believe you can get eggs from some breeders...
Guapo is adorable but you need to project confidence- otherwise don't turn your back on him for too long. He doesn't like strangers around the ranch very much at all- good boy!!!
Hey,thanx for answering!I know how you have to show them who is boss,i still have scars on my hands but it is so worthwhile....In Itami where I live there were people who let them fight. My shamo Tamay once protected me like a true knight!God bless his soul.
They are very pure souls better then some people...
