  • One does not need to know everything in order to say there is no evidence for the supernatural. Having questions or misinformation on mythology, has nothing to do with proving christianity. Why Would Anyone Go Through The Mental Gymnastics Required To Rationalize Christianity or any religion?

  • thank you. this video conforted me

  • this movie is like supersize me

  • I love you man, keep burning the straw man! Also what I thought was ridiculous was his utter misquote of scripture to say Paul thought Jesus was a myth! He blatantly lies about what the scripture say and made up his own scripture to add straw to his already fallible argument.

  • Uh, there many references outside the bible for Jesus' existance.

  • @whiteguysamurai Ignorance of History and lack of common sence like yours never ceases to amazing me.

  • I want ONE shred of evidence that Jesus was born from a virgin. ONE. Christians have NONE, yet they believe in it as a 100% fact. They teach it as fact to impressionable young minds in church. And their faith revolves around these fairy tales. And this is just ONE example of MANY MANY MANY fairy-tale stories that are told in their most sacred, holy book. They devote their lives to everything written in the bible. EXTRAORDINARY CLAIMS REQUIRE EXTRAORDINARY EVIDENCE.

  • @lesliekwan80

"EXTRAORDINARY CLAIMS REQUIRE EXTRAORDINARY EVIDENCE. "

Indeed they do. Ask and you will recieve.

Go to leestrobel . com ,click on Video Channels, then, Investigating Jesus. Theres about 45 short video clips addressing such questions as you asked concerning Jesus and claims to his Godhood and others.

Also, go under Investigating God,Investigating The Bible and Investigating Christianity for even more clips addressing questions about these one might have.

    This should help.

  • lesliekwan80. Liberal Christians don't accept the virgin birth or a literal reading of gospels. This video presents Jesus has never being born. That is extreme and in the minority. Take skeptical scholar James Tabor, PhD. He says Jesus was born out of wedlock and father was a Roman soldier. The Jews took the same postion and many still do today. Also Tacitus confirms Jesus was crucified under Pilate. It is far more likely Jesus walked the earth that was made up.

  • You believe in Jesus through faith alone. He ask no more from you,if you believe in him the rest will come to you.

  • Well you can talk to any Historian,They tend to know a bit more than no name, weekend movie makers like Brian Flemming and his pathetic attack against documented history.

Theres a world of information and truth...more that just ONE that you want.Tons on YT too. Heres my historical research. Get some education..:)

  • I don't believe in god yet I don't care if other people do. Why can't we all just get along...

  • ok,heres the bottom line, john ch3 vs3 thru 8 you must be born again john ch4 vrs23-24,God is a spirit and relates to you in spirit, john ch6 vr 44,inless God draws you to Christ ...you can search for him all you want, but untill you actually ask him into your heart, you are never going to find him,and because of mans pride most of them would never stoop to such a low but so easy way to find the true and living GOD,so ramble on all you want, this is the only way you will fine CHRIST,like it or not

  • To somebody whos doesn't believe or just laughs at the idea of God everything is narrowminded or stupid.

  • In Genesis 3: 22. Everything was perfect. No sickness, no disease, no pain. But after disobeying God, Adam & Eve no longer deserved paradise & God told them to leave. If they had continued to live in the garden and eat from the tree of life, they would have lived forever BUT in a state of eternal sin. Sin can't be allowed to exist in God's presense. This is why we get sick, old & eventually, die. Now, God is preparing a new earth as an eternal paradise for his people (believers).

  • Do you even realize what you are saying? The hunts were real, yes, but the "witches" weren't. The reason you know this is because you investigated the FACTS! not because somebody told you.

  • IF you spent any time investigating the Bible the way you investigated the Salem hunts, you would realize that the Bible is true in all it says. Have you been listening to what others have been telling you or have you studied it for YOURSELF?

  • No, I have NOT studied the Salem Witch trials. I did not invetigate it. I am a logical thinking person. I do not believe in superstition. Everything that I grew up learning about the world tells me that their is no such thing as witches and no such thing as witchcraft.

  • I have studied the bible to some extent. I was raised Catholic. I had Scripture class when I was in High School. You have obviously studied it more than I have, but I studied it enough to know that I don't believe in it anymore. Such as the tower of Bable..why did God change everyones language? I have my own view, I want to hear yours.

  • When the people began to build the tower of Babel, it was for thier OWN glory rather than to the glory of God. This was a monument to the people themselves rather than to God. When we build monuments for our own glory, we become arrogant in every way thinking that we are "gods" in our own eyes. God in turn confused them by altering their language so they could not work together and broke their pride by showing them that without God, they can't do anything.

  • Comment removed

  • God is the reason for our skills and talents. Whatever we do in life, we should give the credit to God because HE is the reason we are able to do all things. When you take the credit for yourself, you are telling God that he's useless to you and you don't need him. This is God's way to open your eyes to reality. This was the purpose behind the language issue at Babel.

  • Ok that is different from the way I heard it. That the reason was they were building a tower to get to heaven. God saw that they were building this, so to stop them from building and getting to heaven, he changed everyones language so they could not communicate with each other, therefore they could not finish the tower.

  • You can see now how problematic things can get when you listen to somebody else's story especially when they have no clue as to what they are saying. The Bible provides crystal clear reasons for EVERYTHING that is written. I too was raised a catholic and I left because I had questions they couldn't answer. We may not like what God has to say but he says it for our own benefit.

  • OK, I found this in the bible on line....Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other. It says US, who is US?

  • Scripture does not identify who the other person with God was but it was most likely Jesus. Why are you so focused on such small matters? If anything, the ONLY question that every person on earth should be focused on is this: Once you die, where will you end up? This is the only question that matters. If you can't answer it with 100% certainty, then you have a reason to be afraid.

  • I am not afraid. I am focusing on small matters because they are part of the puzzle

  • You say it was most likely Jesus, but Jesus did not come around until the new testiment. Plus God and Jesus are one in the same.

  • No, I'm not the one saying that, the Bible says it. The trinity is God, Jesus & the Holy Spirit. They are 1, but they are also 3 seperate beings. Jesus has always existed. If you were a catholic, you would have known this to begin with.

  • NO, you are saying it. When you use the words "most likely", then it becomes your words NOT the bible. Another thing I want to know. Why did God lie to Adam? He said if he ate from the fruit of knowledge, that he would die. Well he ate the fruit. He did not die. What is wrong with knowledge anyway. Shouldn't Adam have knowledge of good and evil so he can have free will and stay away from evil?

  • Yes, God did say that if you eat of the fruit from the forbidden tree, you will die. Nowhere did God say that Adam would die instantly. The fact is that God's purpose was for mankind to live forever, in other words, to be immortal. When Adam ate the fruit, he lost his immortality and eventually died. God also gave Adam free will, but Adam CHOSE to eat what he wasn't supposed to eat. God gave very specific warnings to both Adam & Eve. They both chose to ignore the warning.

  • @persius07

You're mistlead like most MODERN christians are, the truth of scriptures is the fact that it's a guideline for SPIRITUAL growth. The "fall" of mankind has to do purely with a spiritual death, not physical. Adam & Eve would have died eventually PHYSICALLY reguardless. The Tree of Life, was symbolic for Torah a.k.a The Messiah, Yahushua, the man modern christians know as Jesus. He was a LIVING Torah. John 1:1 - 14 testifies for this as well. Religion is poison, life is in Him alone.

  • What exactly are you refering to here! Your comment just drops out of the sky. You state that the "fall" of mankind has to do only with spiritual death! Explain then why people are sick, why there is disease, why people have poor eyesight, hearing, back problems. etc. All of this is the result of what Adam & Eve did so long ago. What are you basing your claims on here?

  • @persius07

My question is ultimately where are you basing your claims on disease, etc because of the fall? It's not there nor anywhere else in scripture, in fact, The Messiah, Himself, stated, in John 9, that basically man's afflictions have nothing to do with sin. His taught ones asked who sinned, he or his parents and Messiah replied, "Neither sinned, but this happened so that the work of Yahuah [God] might be displayed in his life." In other words, He controls all things. Not just "good". :)

  • Christ was refering to the man who he just healed. The question of who sinned was commonly believed to mean that either his parents sinned in the past and he was aflicted, or, the man himself sinned in some way that caused him to have leprosy. This was an isolated question directed to this man and his illness. Once sin entered the world, we as humans began to "break down". Sin caused illness, disease etc. It became a fallen world. Opposite of what God intended.

  • IF that is the case, tell me what was the purpose of Christ dying on the cross then?

  • The Romans crucified many men that they had troubles with, not just Jesus.Jesus was a mortal man who claimed to be the son of God. Jesus had a following becuase of this. This caused a disruption in the Romans. The Romans decided to stop this following. They decided to make an example of him by tying him to a cross. They tortured him. That made him a matar which led to feeding the Christians to the lions.

  • What are you basing that on? What is your authority to your claim? If Jesus was not who he claimed to be, then he was a raving lunatic and anybody who follows his teachings should be felt sorry for. However, based on roman historical documents, the romans themselves stated that Jesus performed feats (miracles) that nobody else could do! Why would they state such facts if they never occured? I'm basing my claim on historial evidence. What are you basing yours on?

  • Where are these roman historical documents? I would like to see them for myself.

  • Here you go. Feel free to use the reference provided to verify for yourself!

Tacitus, in writing about accusations that Nero burned the city of Rome and blamed it on Christians, said the following:

". . .Nero procured others to be accused, and inflicted exquisite punishment upon those people, who were in abhorrence for their crimes, and were commonly known by the name of Christians.

  • They had their denomination from Christus (Christ, dm.), who in the reign of Tibertius was put to death as a criminal by the procurator Pontius Pilate. . . .At first they were only apprehended who confessed themselves of that sect; afterwards a vast multitude discovered by them, all of which were condemned, not so much for the crime of burning the city, as for their enmity to mankind. . . ." (Tacitus, Annals, 15, 44).

  • And still some more:

Tacitus, it should be emphasized, was not some Christian historian who was trying to prove that Jesus Christ really lived, but a pagan who despised Christians as a "disease," a term he uses later in the passage. Had Jesus never even existed, he would have been the first to expose that pathetic phantom on whom such cultists placed their trust.

  • Were no other references to Jesus available, this passage alone would have been sufficient to establish his historicity. Skeptics realize this, and so have tried every imaginable means to discredit this passage—but to no avail. Manuscript analysis and computer studies have never found any reason to call this sentence into question, nor its context.

  • I am not diputing that Jesus existed, I just want to see some documents describing his miracles. Outside the bible. I have look over what you wrote down in the last 4 post. Maybe I am missing it, but I dont see any desriptions to his miracles

  • Pilote didn't provide examples of the miracles, but the FACT remains that a pagan such as Pilote made it clear that miracles were performed. IF that is recorded in HISTORY then there is truth behind it. Either Christ is who he claimed to be, OR, he is a raving lunatic. Take your pick.

    Look this over:

    w w w DOT leaderu DOT org/offices/billcraig/docs/rediscover2 DOT html

  • I have provided only two small examples but you have the details as to where they originated so you are now free to verify for yourself. Romans kept detailed accounts of everything especially records of those they executed. This is why such documents are relied upon as being absolutely reliable. Anything more?

  • I have another one as well:

Two references have been made to a report by Pontius Pilate. The references include Justin Martyr (150 A..D.) and Tetullian (200 A.D.). Both references correspond with the fact that there was an official document in Rome from Pilate. The Pilate report detailed the crucifixion but also reported acts of miracles. Emperor Tiberius acted on Pilate's report, according to Tertullian, to the Roman Senate.

  • Cont:

"Tiberius accordingly, in whose days the Christian name made its entry into the world, having himself received intelligence from Palestine of events which had clearly shown the truth of Christ's divinity, brought the matter before the senate, with his own decision in favor of Christ. The senate, because it had not given the approval itself, rejected his proposal. Caesar held to his opinion, threatening wrath against all accusers of the Christians."

  • You have given me a lot of materail here. So I will have to get back to you after I look it over and verify it. I do have one question how ever. What kind of miracles were documated?

  • Since God doesn't exist according to you and you are so violently oppossed to those who believe, answer this then. Why do you waste SO much time arguing about something that you say is not real? How is that for backwards. Now that is the definition of lunacy! Have a nice day.

  • If you are going have a conversation, I strongly suggest you first understand what you're talking about! You just came across as a lunatic. Nice work. Had you taken the time to FIND OUT, you would have learned something new.

  • Oh no, I am not the lunatic here. I suggest you watch this video. Do a search" The Bible: Evidence that God is evil. "

  • Where did you get these moronic ideas from, a 5 year old? The only thing you have proven is that you have NO idea what you're talking about. I was under the impression that you were intelligent but now I can see you're not.

  • I am the one who is sane here. You do not know what you are talking about. You can not point to one thing that I have said that is not true.

  • I don't have to point to anything about you. You chose to ignore everything and that is your free choice. Just think of this last thought. One day you WILL die. Either God is 100% false, OR, he's 100% real. You have a 50/50 chance in all of this. IF he's not real, then you lose nothing. However, IF he is real, you lose everything.

  • Are you prepared to go to your grave with what you believe? Either God exists, or he doesn't. Take your pick. Either way, you WILL find out sooner or later.

  • Terrible. You misspelled a basic contraction" "wasen't." Wow. All credibility hereby destroyed.

  • There is no point having any kind of discussion with you. You're just full of anger, hatred, mockery and insults. What kind of positive outcome can come from you? None. Live in the world you believe in and allow others to believe in their faith. Why does it bother you so much as to what I believe in. Enjoy your life and all the best to you.

  • The startling part of all here is that the examples I shared along with many others happened in one night in front of hundreds of witnesses. You have no argument that supports biology can alter the human state in seconds in front of so may eye witnesses. You are the one living in a fantasy now. Too bad you'll never experience that kind of miracle in your life. Good luck to you.

  • Show me 1 example in the bible where God calls himself a "religion"? You wont' find it because God is NOT a religion. He is a relationship. HUGE difference. Relgion is based on myths and foklore. God IS real and he is waiting to PROVE it to you. If you chose to reject God, then God has moved out of your way and he won't do ANYTHING for you. He won't crash the party ever. YOU must call on him and then you'll discover how real he is. Something that you don't want to do! Good luck to you.

  • You can call it what you want, it doesn't change the fact that you are wrong. I was like you at one time but unlike you, I took the time to search. I have witnessed first hand the blind receive sight. I have seen the crippled get out of the wheelchair and walk. I have stood next to a deaf girl only to witness her hear for the first time. I have seen things you will never see because you rejected God from the begining. God didn't fail you. You failed him.

  • The reason you reject God is because you have NEVER attempted to discover him for yourself. God PROMISES to answer anybody who sincerely calls out to him for PROOF of his existance. Your attitude confirms that you have never tried so why would you believe? God has NEVER ignored anybodies call to him for proof. You choose to mock and laugh at him. Why? What do you have to loose to find out once and for all that he IS real? What are you afraid of?

  • Free will, sanity, knowledge etc. are all gifts from God. He gave you common sense and you chose not to use it. God isn't saying "let's make a deal", instead he's saying "this IS the deal". Heaven or Hell is up to you. Choices have consequences and huge ones at that. If you chose to live in ignorance then that's your free will. You have only yourself to blame for the outcome at hand. Where you end up is 100% up to you! Not God.

Not God.

  • Let me ask you this. What do you have to lose by not worshing him? God states that anybody who rejects God, God will reject them! You have 2 choices. Heaven, or Hell. Where you end up is 100% up to you. You may want to reconsider why it is a good idea to accept God. You won't get a second chance once you die! It's over for you.

  • What if you are wrong, and you are worshipping the WRONG god, then you are going to hell.

  • Great question. Here is how I know that I'm not wrong. 1. God says that he is the ONLY God and none others exist. 2. The fact that God answers those to call on him with such evidence of his being, there can't be any denial that he is real. 3. No other god in existence has or can perform miracles. ie. restoring sight to the blind, healing the crippled etc. I have witnessed these things myself and because of them I believe. There MUST be proof to anything in order for it to be believed.

  • Just because it says it is so in the bible, doesn't make it so. You say you have wittnessed healings? What kind of healings and miracles have you wittness. You must prove this stuff to me as you said "There MUST be proof to anything in order for it to be believed."

  • If you think I have a video of what I witnessed, you'll be disappointed. As an eye witness to these events, I am the proof. I am either telling you the truth, or I am telling you a complete lie. Eye witnesses to this very day are credible sources of events. Regardless of what you say, it appears that whatever proof you recieve, you will be willing to disregard it. Speak to anybody who has been healed by God and you will have more proof than you know what to do with.

  • I wasn't expecting some video, I just wanted to hear your testimony. But now that you mention it, why aren't there videos of his healings?

  • People don't go to a healing service to enjoy a specticle, they go because of one reason only. God! This is not a circus act. Faith doesn't require video taping. Faith only requires a person to step forward to experience something that can only occur with God. I don't know of any video taped healings but they may be out there. I don't make it a point to take a camcorder with me to church! That is why it's called Faith! Taking a step towards what you can't see, hear or touch.

  • So have you seen an amputee grow an arm or leg back?

  • Personally, I don't know any amputees myself. I have been witness to a woman who was born with one leg much shorter from the other. I stood and witnessed her short leg grow more than 3 inches instantly. She came in with an orthopedic shoe & cane, she left barefooted because the one shoe was too high to wear now! I witnessed another young girl who was born deaf in one ear receive her full hearing back that same night. She is the sister of a friend. What more can be said.

  • I guess those things are something I would have to see for myself. The woman who had the much shorter leg could have been a plant with an illussion of a shorter leg. The girl with hearing loss could just believe that she got her hearing back. When acutually she didnt. Your mind can play tricks on you.

  • Typical answer of a mocker. Have it your way, this is why you will NEVER experience the touch of God.

Denial is the most predictable of human responces.

Yes, your mind can play tricks on you. Your mind is working very hard to keep you blind to what is real.

    Good luck to you.

  • I am blind? Have you ever really sat down and read the bible? It codones selling daughters off for prostitution. It codones STONING. God commands a guy to KILL his own son. God floods the Earth and KILLS thousands if not millions of people. It codones KILLING of homosexuals. It calims the Earth is flat when it is round. It claims the Earth is 6000 yo when the Earth is 4.5 billion years old. It says the tower of Babel was reaching for heaven, we have gone much higher now.

  • Yes I have read it. Every example you present is in there but you have taken only bits and pieces of what you claim to be brutality and lies. Had you taken the time to study just a little more you would realize that everything has a purpose to it. Are you just here to mock or are you interested in the slightest as to what these things mean? Which is it. Do you want answers or do you just want to fight and argue? Take your pick.

  • IF arguing is all that you are looking to do, then there is no way you will be willing to listen to anything. With people such as yourself, it's like trying to push a grand piano through a mouse-hole. It's not possible. You don't want to find out. You prefer to spit on everything.

  • Well I felt that you came back hard on me and so I came back hard on you. But feel free to explain these things to me, such as why is it alright to sell daughters for prostitutions.

  • Where does it say that daughters are to be sold for prostitution?

  • I can't answer that at the moment. Let me tell you about myself. I am a atheist and I belong to an atheist group. In this group, almost all were religious at one time. We have lost our faith for various reasons. Differerent foe each person. I lost my faith because of what I have learned in astronomy. In our group, I know of at least 3 atheist who lost their faith through deeply reading the bible. So I will have to get this information from them. That is where I heard about it. I will get back

  • You do realize what God himself calls atheists? FOOLS. IF what you say is true about reading the Bible, then you of all people would know that nature itself testifies to Gods glory. The only factor here is that you have either decieved yourself or have allowed somebody else to decieve you. Only one of us is 100% right. The other is 100% wrong. Are you prepared to go to your grave with what you believe knowing that once you step onto the other side, there is no second chance?

  • I find that there are many things in the bible that try to scare people. The biggest one is if you don't believe then you will go to hell. That is a classic technic to push you to believe. You don't dare not believe. If he really wanted people to believe, he would show himself.

  • You are wrong, again! God isn't about forcing himself on anybody. As a matter of fact, God says that YOU have the FREEDOM to do ANYTHING you want. God has NEVER sent anybody to hell. You go because of the choices you make. By rejecting Christ (a CHOICE) you go. Nothing evil may enter heaven, so why would God allow a sinner into his kingdom? You chose where you end up, not God. He does show himself, but if you don't want to open the door to see him, whos fault is that?

  • You say that God has never sent anybody to hell. But you say that he does not allow them to enter his kingdom, then in essence he IS sending them to hell. You also say that he does not allow evil into his kingdom. Just how is not beleiving in him, how is that evil? It is not evil. According to you, a person could save lifes on Earth, be the most charitable person on Earth, but simply that he does not believe, God will not allow him into his kingdom

  • First off, it's not MY opinion. What I think doesn't matter. Everything I have told you comes straight from God himself. We (mankind) are sinners from birth. Christ came to earth for 1 pupose only. To die on the cross. Christ was sinless and therefore the perfect sacrifice. Because he died for mankind, he opened the door to heaven. By accepting Christ into your life, God REMOVES your sin and renders you spotless in his eyes. Everything you ever did that is a sin is REMOVED and therefore God....

  • cont: sees you as being pure as snow and welcomes you into his kingdom (heaven). The ONLY way into heaven is therefore through Christ. Because Jesus died, all that is required of you is to accept him as your savior. In essense, Christ IS the ticket. IF you don't accept the ticket, you don't get in! This is why it's your CHOICE if you want in or to stay out. Sin does not enter heaven EVER. Being a good person does NOTHING for you. Only Christ is the key. It is written: Not by deeds are you...

  • cont: are you saved, but by the blood of Christ". IF being good was all it took, anybody could get into heaven. Any mobster can give money to the poor and build homes for the homeless. Does this mean he can get in? NO. Only the blood of Christ washes you clean. NOTHING else will. This is why if a person rejects Christ they will NEVER enter heaven, so the only other place left is Hell. You have 2 and ONLY 2 options. YOU get to pick which one you want.

  • That is pure insanity. A mobster could not get in because he has robbed someone or killed someone. I am talking about someone who is completely inocent. Someone who has done nothing wrong. His ONLY crime is not believing in God. Now if your god will not let someone so good as that into Heaven, then your god is an insane god.

  • I answered your question below. God shows NO favouritism to nobody. These are HIS rules. Nowhere in the Bible will you find a passage that says "let's make a deal", instead it says "this IS the deal". If you don't like it, tough. Take it up with God, not me. He said it, I didn't. That's how it is. Being good NEVER got anybody into heaven. Accepting Christ into your life is the ONLY way. The law of God is straight forward. Christ is the ONLY way in. If you want to call that insane, then that.

  • Cont: is your problem. Your opinions count for nothing. What you think has no bearing on reality. Fire burns whether you believe it or not. Water drowns whether you believe it or not.

  • You will bow to God and not the other way around. Call it insane if you like, it doesn't change the fact that this is the ONLY way. Why are you so afraid of this?

What do you have to lose by it?

  • This is the reason God has never sent anybody to hell. You go because of the choices YOU make. God in all his mercy has NEVER forced anybody to choose him. God is about FREEDOM. You have that freedom to choose. IF God forced you to do anything, he wouldn't be merciful but rather a dictator and therefore he would be a liar & render the entire Bible a hoax. God has NEVER crashed a party and he isn't about to start. It's all 100% up to you.

  • Agree with you there on how this video was done.

Also, the whole video is about Flemming suggesting something ,giving his OPINION and backing it with nothing but other opinions and no real evidence.

    Zeitgeist doe exactly the same.

In actuality theres more real historical evidence for Christ and Christianity than any other figure from history.

A lot of atheists WANT to believe that the Bible and Christianity aren't true. Wanting does not change the truth.

  • @SerpentSlayer01: How would you know If I were a Greek Catholic or a Roman Catholic or an Atheist? No one knows what my religious beliefs are. In any event, why should it matter. What kind of Crystal Ball do you have that would warrant your last sentence.

  • Keeping in mind that when this passage was written it was approx. 3500 years ago and it was written in Hebrew so in this case, the word "bats" was included to understand that it was among the "animals that fly". The word mammal did not exist at that time in history either! This was the easiest way for the author to make the point clear as to what animals were not to be consumed. When you read the verse, it is clear that certain birds are not be eaten as well, he adds bats to that list.

  • Good Answer

  • I haven't spit on your religion any more than you've spit on Greek myths or Islam. I reject your religion for the same reason you reject others.

Why can't you Christians understand that? I asked my pastor that question when I was 14 and got the same response... talking in circles and no address of my question.

So, what makes your religion right when you would believe the religion you claim to be wrong if you were born in that other area... Give me an answer please, one with no BS.

  • Great question. As for why your pastor couldn't answer that question is something I can't answer. However, based on the bible (God's word). God says that HE is the only God and there are no others. If man prays to anything or anybody other than God, that is considered a sin. One of Gods commandments is "you shall have no other gods before me". This alone states that we are not to make gods out of anything and worship them. God alone is God. Any other religion is man made.

  • But what makes your religion more real than theirs? They'd have the same things to say about their religion that you said about yours.

I realized when I was 14 that I WOULD be muslim, Hindu, Buddhist et al if I were born elsewhere and I would adhere to my religion the same way. In other words, your religion is mainly determined by where you were born.

  • First off, God is NOT a religion. He is a relationship. That alone differentiates him from all religions. Where you were born is irrelivant. If a person really wants to know who God is, it's up to that person to search. God will NEVER crash a party and force himself on anybody. He stands waiting to reveal himself but ONLY when we sincerely call on him and ask for proof. He will NEVER do anything for us under any circumstances. It's up to us to make the first move. THEN, he appears.

  • For those who believe that God doesn't exist, it's because they don't WANT to believe. Why follow what others are telling you including myself. Why not sincerely seek him and ask him to break your doubts and disbelief. He promises to do so but ONLY when you ask him with sincerity. That is the first step in faith, and faith is ALL that God needs in order to work in a persons life. That is ALL he asks of anybody. Faith for PROOF! No other religion on earth will offer that same guarantee.

  • thanks for making this. c-ya in heaven. LOL. : D

  • Lol @ aboot

  • i knw this sounds silly but i thought the perception of the demi-god in the film "the watchmen" was awesome and i belive if there is a god this is one... not only one that operates outside of time and space bt one outside of HUMAN emotion and moral...

  • god isnt the omni-benevolent god u so beilieve. he cannot be omni-benevolent if he dislikes murdr, homosxuals etc etc... and if he is actuli omni-benevolent than he is a god u have not identified, one that accepts everything for wat it is... after all aids, cancer alike are GOOD as the fullfill their puporse. i personaly am agnostic bt i belie if there is a god he is not the one the christians belive.

  • most think he is JUST a God of mercy, but also he is a God of justice (in His timing mind you)

and that is where most people have the problem. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN IM WRONG!!! I DONT BELIEVE IN GOD!"

    lol

And many blame Him for whats wrong in the world like cancer, "He must not be good" but we forget who brought sin into the world, and its far reaching effects. Man's fault. but its so much easier to blame God....or eve.... thats what adam did.

not much has changed has it?

  • You're right about recurring virgin births, but the argument that Jesus is a regurgitation of numerous pagan myths is not 100% accurate, there is no one story that perfectly predates the story of Jesus, just individual traits. The story of Horus is often cited as what the life of Jesus was based off of but if you read the story it does not resemble the story of Jesus whatsoever.

(BTW I'm an Atheist. I just wanted to point all this out)

  • To understand why all these gods have these similar traits we just need to look to the stars and see that constellations and the star of the zodiac was part of the founding structure of all religion. Christianity has stolen the myths of other cultures and then passed it off as its own, disgraceful and vile.

  • Why is there such an overwhelming attack on Christianity? With all the religions in existence, only the Christian faith is being attacked mercilessly. The answer is very simple. Satan (who very few seem to mention at any time even when debating God) does not oppose what he controls. There is a battle going on. God vs Satan. There are only 2 sides to choose from. Whos side are you on? You MUST answer this question. You're on one side or the other. There is no neutral stance.

  • Very true my friend. Peace and God bless.

  • ur assumption is wrong, mate. i would choose neither for the simple reason that both of ur so-called sides are nonexistent. you make people choose from things they don't believe in! - what sort of a faulty dilemma is that?! and to answer your question about attacking christianity - you think so (and a rather simple-minded "conclusion" this is), because YOU are a christian. if u were a muslim, u'd think that the whole world's attacking islam. u're just all but objective, but that's ur problem.

  • Actually, your assumption is wrong. I would never make anybody choose a side. However, God does. You are either on his side or satans side regardless of what you believe. Nowhere in scripture does God say "let's make a deal". Instead he's saying "this is the deal". You have already chosen a side by saying you don't believe. Your opinion doesn't count for anything. What you believe has no bearing on reality! Fire burns whether you believe or not. God is REAL and you'll answer to him.

  • but that's the point: you take the existence of those powers for granted. what's more, christianity not only claims control over the life of all people, but also the ones who died before christ supposedly came to earth. now, isnt' that a bit totalitarian? why didn't he come before that, if he's so omnipotent and benevolent, but instead delayed his coming for a few tens of thousands of years, dooming billions of people to hell? hm?

  • You are wrong on two points. 1st. Those who lived prior to Christ birth didn't all die and go to hell. Providing they lived a life where they acknowledged God and lived the best they could in his commands, they died and went to heaven i.e. Moses, Abraham and all the prophets. 2nd. According to scripture, the earth and mankind is only 7000 years old, not 10's of thousands as you claim. As for totalitarian. Not at all, everybody has a choice how they live. Reject God or accept.

  • listen, there is no "provided they acknowledged God" because they did not KNOW about any such god. These are the people I'm talking about - the mass BEFORE Christ and his mates, not the "chosen" few u mention. They did not go to heaven for sure, although some claim that Jesus went to hell to bring them to heaven. If so, prove it. But what worries me is that you claim the earth is 7000 years old, u can't possibly bring that in an argument, mate, don't be absurd

  • The fact that you actually believe the earth is 7000 years old shows that you are in serious denial and lack any type of critical thinking skills when it comes to this topic.

  • It seems more that you're angry and hostile towards anybody who doesn't believe in your views! The bible is more than just holy text, it's a detailed history book that revealed in minute detail events thousands of years before they occured AND which archaeology and science has proven to be 100% correct. I'm not the one in denial. I believe based on facts and proof........ why do you deny it? What are you afraid of?

  • I am angry. I'm angry that you fucktards vote for the most ridiculous, irrational bullshit and hold humanity back and why??? Because you're all stupid enough to believe in magic and fairy tail bullshit.

If you want to believe that your bible is 100% correct (I'm not selling my daughter to slavery and no, bats are NOT the same as birds) then that's fine, just leave the rest of us out of it.

Science has proven your holy book wrong so many times it's ridiculous, you're in denial.

  • Revelations says that most men will have so little faith when tribulation occurs, that their hearts will fail them.

  • The burden of proof is always on the one making the claim. It's not up to us to prove that Jesus didn't exist, it's up to you to prove that he did.

  • 1. I'm not really qualified to comment because I don't live in america and have never experienced that. However where I live at least we don't try to convert each other at every possible oppertunity, we had the middle ages for that.

    2. "NO YOU" is not a partically educated rebuttal; but then, "Cover your ears" isn't a particularly educated arguement. Preach your views (atheist or religious) to people who want to hear them. Surely thats logical?

  • To both this movie and to the Christian movement as a whole I quote Nietzche: "Fanatics are picturesque, mankind would rather see gestures than listen to reasons." and "Extreme positions are not succeeded by moderate ones, but by contrary extreme positions. " That pretty much sums up the debate between Fundamentalist Religion and what I would call the "neo-atheist" movement. Neither side is conclusively right, they're just fanatical contrary extream positions on the same subject.

  • 0:51

    1:50

maybe you should learn how to spell the title of the movie before you critique it.

your failure to grasp SIMPLE grammar completely undermines your attempts to come across as an intelligent and thoughtful reviewer.

but then again for a man who believes every word of the bible as truth and forgets that it was written as a METAPHOR clearly has difficulties when it comes to logic and common sense.

  • The facts don't stand up historically. Do the research yourself. Try and find historical sources for Jesus and you won't find any.

I did just what Flemming did as a christian years ago and came to the same conclusion. I was glad when someone finally made a movie. There is no proof, and blind faith can't change that fact.

The Egyptians were established long before the Hebrews, and they had a messianic story and psalms long before any of the earliest Hebrew prophets. Those ARE facts

  • 1. I don't know what you are into to have slogans screamed at you outside of night clubs, or book stores. When I was unsaved in the world I never saw any Christians outside of nite clubs screaming. I surely didn't see any protest at Barnes and/or Borders.

2, My "kind" is too silent & need to speak out more with God's AGENDA, we can't force anyone to do anything. We surely have a right to FREEDOM OF RELIGION & FREEDOM OF SPEECH. If you don't want to listen cover your ears. SIMPLE! God Bless You

  • First you say the film was long on opinion and short on fact, backed up by others' opinions. But then you turn around and quote J. P. Holding's views on the film. Great stuff.

  • I get my stats from Adherents(dot)com

    not Atheists(dot)com.

  • And dont YOU realize that despite being the most attacked Faith,Christianity/Judaism is the largest and fastest growing on the planet?

And every time accusations are brought against it they fall away when brought under the light of REAL History and the TRUTH.

The religion of atheism,on the other hand, despite what its Talking Heads in some universities might say, is the smallest and growing smaller with whats happening in countries like China where thousands are coming to christianity everyday.

  • tha catholic church is on a decline....they cant even get enough priests anymore, do your research...

  • The catholic yes.....while prodastant, evangelical, christianity in growing by thousands every day, especially in China,India South America.

    Heres some research for you.

  • When you die there will be nothingness and its kinda hard to rub nothingness in your face. To bad for me

  • LOL.. Yea thats funny and also a bit sad.

If your right and im wrong ,when we die ,neither of us will know that you were right.

But if Im right and your wrong,we'll both know it as soon as we die. Maby I'll get to say "I told you so."..:)

You know...If I were an atheist, Id have to make WELL and SURE that I was right BEFORE that happened.

You have a lot more to risk and lose...:)

    Peace.

  • But if there is no god then spending your life worshiping him is wasted time and a silly life.

  • I can honestly say friend, that my Christian life hasent kept me from anything good that Ive desired and on the contrary has given me SUCH a fulfilled peace of mind and heart ,that if even if there wasent anything else... (of which Im totally convinced isn't true)...Id still live this life.

My faith in Christ has given me such peace and strength that Ive never seen offered elsewhere,on this earth....:)

  • IF you really felt that way you wouldnt be compelled to post.

  • ever herd a psychological phenominon called the placebo effect??? If the pastor says the mass or the religion will make your life right and correct or undo your wrongs then you will feel that way. We Believe what we want to believe (im not atheist just let me say that) and you believe what you believe its just that easy no one is right and no one is wrong and we will never know until we are dead and once we are dead it wount really matter will it?

  • That theory fails in light of faithful Christians who dont even go to a church and listen to a pastor.

Plus the same "psychological phenomenon" could be said of students in some universities and colleges that sit under atheistic professors.

  • I would never risk my soul! What I don't understand about Atheist is why they care if someone else is Christian. I was Agnostic for years, but trying to attack Christians was never my agenda. Atheist have nothing to convert people over to so they should be SILENT. However, attacking Christians for belief in Christ is clearly the anti-Christ. Thank God for showing me the light. Great Vid!

  • Ok, I hate to say I'm sort of poking a bee-hive here it but you are risking your soul. If, say, Islam happens to be right (Islam is just as credible as Christianitys from an academic perspective) then I guess you're wrong and you'll go to hell. The only thing you could do to not risk your soul would be to dance between every single religion, infact its more dangerous (from a spiritual perspective) to devote to one religion!

  • 1. I don't share your carnal mind...oopsI mean "academic perspective", or any view point YOU have on MY FAITH. If your atheist that ends the discussion you have NO concern on my soul being at risk from a invalid spiritual perspective, using a illogical argument to convert me to atheism.

  • Well unfortunately for your arguement i'm not an Atheist. However I'm also not a religious person. I see it as faintly ridiculous to follow a book is not the direct command of any deity to the letter (I.E Fundamentalism). I do view the bible as a very interesting perspective on morals (while also an out of date one). I view religion as a means of control or (very rarely nowerdays) unification. I see spirituallity as an impotant part of human development.

  • If you don't believe in god your an atheist by definition.

  • That's very shallow: Taoist monks don't believe in god, but they are most certainly not Atheists. Theism or Deism, are the beliefs of a greater power that does not have to manifest itself in the form of a god.

  • 2. I was agnostic for years, but I had no intentions of converting others to nothingness. I guess it's because I had no ulterior motives. Seemingly, this new age atheist movement is looking for converts, because they're practicing something immoral, and don't want to leave any room for MORAL (comes for GOD) objections.

I OBJECT! (You know what do if you don't like my objections)

    The End (concludes my dialogue)

  • WARNING: (Atheist, Agnostic, & Non-believers you might disagree so get ready to close them eyes)!

JESUS is the ONLY WAY! The Way, the Truth, and the Life! Redeemer, Healer, Savior...

NOT the faux Michael the ArchAngel Jesus, NOT Jesus the brother of Lucifer, NOT MOONIE, (with all due respect to Mary) NOT even MARY, NOT any cult, or crazy spin on the deity of JESUS.

    God Bless!

  • @nikki2christ: I am an Atheist. I don't care what you or anyone else believes. Why do I feel this way. Because it is none of my business. Each one of us is responsible for our own actions. The Christians get all bent out of shape because I am an Atheist. I find that amusing. I guess they have to feel this way because they are so insecure. I think they are insecure because their beliefs are based upon pure blind faith, but that is their business and not mine. Why would I want to convert anyone?

  • well said. but i'd say that they get bent over not so much out of insecurity, although that's part of it, but because in religion the ultimate goal is to convert ALL living people eventually (well, Mormons went one step further baptizing the dead as well). To have them all kneeling and praying and worshiping THEIR god (with or without the help of deceit, torture, genocide and "holy" wars). So, there you have it: it's a control issue and well, let's be honest about it, a money issue, after all.

  • Your right . Stand firm in your faith and press even harder to maintain your relationship with Christ.

  • Even atheist and secular historians thought that "The God Who Wasn't There" was a joke.

  • I've had a little bit of trouble understanding how god sacrifices himself to himself to make a loophole in the laws that he created is obviously what an all powerful all knowing god would do.

  • There's the issue of Free Will of people to go against Gods laws.

Its for that, that he paid the penalty for us through Christ's sacrifice on the cross.

  • Lmfao!!!! nice

  • You need better visual representation for everything you say. Either more movie clips and/or stillshots, or a slideshow making your points. It's very dull to stare at the same background and text during the long periods of talking. Though the information is good, it lacks the charisma of the movie you're commenting on.

  • was it true that in christian religeon it was thought that everything revolved around the earth?

  • Yes, catholic dogma based the idea on a number of verses from psalms about "the Earth been firmly established, and is unable to move." in order for this dogma to be true (anyone could look up and see stars/planets were following some sort of rotation, they decided that this meant the earth was at the centre of the universe, with everything rotating around it.

  • Actually ithat was a thinking World View one time...not a religion thing.

  • Christianity is nearing an end.

Only so long can the mantle of ignorance that Christianity demands be supported.

It is long past the time that reasonable people grew out of these(Christianity, Islam etc.) superstitions.

  • yes exactly

religion will die out soon (hopefully)

  • Just because biased atheists with an agenda such as Carrier and Flemming make a LONG stretch of trying to draw "similarties" between Christ and Egyptian gods doesnt make it any way true.

These are nothing but OPINION with NOTHING from history or elsewhere to back up those opinions... Just OTHER OPINIONS.

One could draw "similarities" between Obama and Jesus and try to argue that hes the returned Christ, but that doesnt make it any way true.... Again... just another EMPTY OPINION. .
