I've noticed that some of the MK characters can be made with combinations of KI characters.

Examples:

Subzero: Jago + Glacius

Scorpion: Jago + Spinal + Cinder

Sektor: Fulgore + Cinder

Can you think of any others?

Ask Microsoft who bought Rare from Nintendo.

Microsoft owns the rights now I think.

But that's not the Biggest problem.

The biggest problem is that the Programmers who made RARE great in the 90s are not there anymore. Even the founders of Rare left. They make the games great and not the Company.

If you can get the old KI team together again (or a large part of them to consult at least) go for it.

If not don't bother with a sequel and let the franchise remain a legend.

My favorite game of all time, loved playing it when I was little. Too bad ki2 got rid of cinder. And will some developer just get the rights to ki and make ki3 already because rare sucks now and even if they do make ki3 they'll just ruin it like their other franchises. I see KI as takin the brutality of MK and mixin it with the ridiculous and awesome combo system of SF and you got yourself a great fighter that should appeal to both fans. KI is a serious underrated fighter IMO, and since both SF and MK got a rebirth i think it's only far to give KI one.
