  • All up in your face, literally!

  • I came 'round to thank you for subscribing (and so, you know, THANKS!) but had to mention too that that bird is gorgeous. Although I think I'd be creeped out by it flapping around my head while I was trying to sleep.

  • That looks like the sweetesr way in the whole wide world to wake up -

did your bird come in on his own or did someone put him there for the video?

  • so adoable

  • It was amazing to see the loving way the conure did it..Im trying to rescue a small parrot-My 1st. and would welcolm any advice..Thanks

  • I wish my bird was so tame like that. :(

  • how much did the bird cost?

  • my old bird use to ring it's bell at 7AM sharp everyday. Perfect alarm clock. Then he'd watch the flinstones with me when I ate breakfast. Good times.

  • Haha great bird

How much did u pay for it and where did you get it from

  • LOL :My green cheek conure does the same thing my mom will often put him on my bed if she wants to wake me up without me getting mad, he'll usually walk all over my head and back much like yours and make that little noise until I wake up or at least pet him. They're persistent little things. But such great companions :).

  • cutest alarm clock ever! my budgie flies to me when I get up, but she doesn't wake me up. great vid :)

    Nick

  • My jenday does the EXACT same thing with me. Just runs around over my head and bed but understands that I'm sleeping. At that point though you're always aware that your bird is on the bed with you, no matter how deep of a sleep your in.

  • so cute! best alarm clock EVER! :)

  • awwwwwww sooo cute! love the babies but they grow up lol. i had a nanday conure, loved her to pieces but boy was she loud! She kept "watch" over the house if anyone came near it (including the mailman) she'd warn us all that danger was approaching! Now i have a african grey and love him (or her) or pieces!

  • @Tsubakiee Are you for real? Now I'm sad cause few days ago I left a deposit for a baby sun conure and he will be coming home after weaned in about 4 weeks. But I'm so scared he will be too loud. How bad it is, because i live in one apartment and I do not want to make no one mad.

  • Jupiter and you have an amazing relationship, it reminds me of the bond i shared with my sun conure lewis. i didnt keep lewis in a cage so he would also cuddle/ try to wake me up every morning. BUT BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS! 2 years ago i woke up one morning to find that i had rolled over and smothered lewis in my sleep. it was a terrible way to lose my best friend, and i would hate to even imagine something like that happening to anyone else

  • Great! I have a cat and a dog but i wish i had a Bird or a snake :O

  • My Sun conure is supposed to be 16 weeks old, but has brighter feathers, I hope the lady didn't sell me an older bird than she claimed

  • LMFAO! that is so cute and your bird is beautiful :)

  • whats he like im getting one this weekend did he take alot of time to get to know you at first?

  • AWWww i mis mine she use to do that too but she would push her way under the covers n walk around under the blanket instead haha. you have a Very cute bird !

  • How cute! He looks more like a Jenday though with his wings being so green. Heehee!

  • @greyseagirl i guess its a jenday.

  • Mine goes for inside the ear straight away if walking on me doesnt work

  • i got tthe same parrot and he douse the same thing but if i dont wake up he bites the F**K outta me lol

  • mine does the exact same thing.funny how most connures have the same personality

  • how many did a sun conure cost?

  • 300-750$

  • Why do some sun conures have leg bands and some dont?

  • Home breeders don't always put bands on the legs. Some breeders think that it can break their legs if you leave a band on. But the banded sun conures have the most tracible history in case you have to prove you bought your legally bred sun conure in the US and it wasn't smuggled here out of it's natural habitat which can lead to your bird being confiscated or destroyed.

  • @SessaFrost Destroy a bird? You're nuts.

  • OMG, mine does the same thing except she pinches and runs away as if you can't figure out she did it. You can't take a nap unless she's napping and when she sleeps she snores and grumbles when she dreams. So funny lol

  • This is just too funny! Adorable! :)

  • lol funny cute vid : )

  • poop?

  • Soooo cute, great video thanks for sharing

    Billie

  • I also know the hell of these bossy birds. But the loves are also worth it.

  • Soooooo cute!:!)

  • oh soo cuuutee =)

  • Conures are so cool!

  • I wish I had an alarm clock like that :D i can't believe how tame he is... he doesn't scream at all to wake you!

  • He does scream now (very loudly), lol. He has a girlfriend now also and they both chime in and make sure we know they want their grapes and apples in the morning.

  • @ambygirl1008 my grren cheek conure screams in the morning and im sleeping

  • lol

  • That was so cute!

  • This is so cute! Leo does the same thing -- wanna play, wanna play!!!

Sometimes Leo even gets the cuddles like this -- he rubs his head and beak on you really quick.

  • hes like "I WANT ATTENTION NOW!!!'' lolz hes so cute!

  • Also when your not moving like in the video, do they really know your a creature. Wonder if they can identify things like that.

  • Once the parrot is familiar with you, whether you move or not they know you. Jupiter will watch me sleep and not vocalize to wake me up. He seems to understand who I am and I'm tired. Once I open my eyes though, oh boy he can't wait for attention and fun.

  • I dont know much about birds but is it safe not to worry at all about your eyes especially with a bird with a beak that size.

  • Watching your eyes is a consideration to be mindful of when dealing with a parrot close to your face. But with time and getting to know the parrot, you will feel at ease. A good tame parrot will not strike your eyes, but it is a good idea to always be mindful of the distance and potential. After all, it only takes 1 strike to lose your sight, and that is what needs to be avoided. As for me personally, Jupiter has never done any strikes, but that doesn't mean I'm not careful.

  • my sun loves to preen my eye lashes and eye brows i read in a book before i bought her that when they preen there owners its a sign of affection and you should be honored and return the favor she enjoys when i remove the pin from around her new feathers :)

  • It is a sign of affection (I love it), but if your sun hurts you, let her know, simply react. She won't learn otherwise, just as she lets you know when you try to open a pin-feather that isn't ready. Snuggles are awesome, aren't they!

  • My brother has beard, and when ever my sun conure Rico is on his shoulder he always cleans my brothers beard

  • @fleshtheworld - Birds only strike when they feel threatened, hungry, or are just annoyed. Your eyes are safe, birds only go for the eyes when they are thirsty.

  • Interesting. It looks like the bird is actually getting nervous that the person isn't waking up.

  • What a wonderful bird you have! And what a sleepyhead you are!:-)

  • every morningat exactly 7:02, mango the jenday conure squawks loud over and over until I go get her out of her cage, then I hold a napkin under her and say go puty, and she poops on the napkin then she goes inside my robe and cuddles while I drink coffee and watch Fox news.

  • That is so cute. Yes, they are cuddle birds.

  • looks like she is ''drying off''

  • SO CUTE.

  • why did you sleep in a towel lol nice bird

  • Actually that was his robe, lol.

  • My conure actually sleeps with me. If I happen to over sleep, she knows it and at about 10 minutes past my "get up" time, she'll come up to my face, give me kisses and tell me "all done". As in, all done sleeping. She'll keep doing it until I speak to her, then I get an excited "hi" and our day begins. Conures are one of the best birds you can get! Loving, playful and extremely interactive with their "peoplebirds". :)

  • make sure you don't accidentally roll over and smoosh her one day... it would be tragic

  • We've been doing this for almost two years now, she's well versed in the art of rolling with me, lol. Trust me, it's always in the back of my mind even when I sleep to know where she is at all times (I'm a very light sleeper). I actually have two conures sleeping with me now. Her buddy Brooks is quite attached to her and doesn't like to be without her and she is just as attached to me as ever so, now I share the bed with the both of them.

  • LOL I know what you mean. I'm not that light of a sleeper but I occasionally can pull off a night or two. I roll around a bunch so I was a little nervous the first time I slept with my sun conure. I couldn't bring myself to take her from the comfortable position she found in my hair (on my shoulder). Long story short, she survived. Now I only do it when I'm not that tired or when she is in a good enough mood. ^__^

  • Well the sleeping with me has changed since I last posted. Neither of them are sleeping with me now as I've found out that it's the sleeping under the sheets and blankets that has caused their head feathers to fall out. It's been about a month and their feathers are growing in again. Just thought I'd share this with you so you can keep from having your little one sleep with you too much.

  • O_O *Gasp* Their head feathers fell out?! Nuuuu...... I hope that doesn't happen to my sweety pie. Thanks for the info though.

  • my sun likes my hair ^_^

  • My GCC isn't allowed out of his cage until we wake up, but he starts in the morning: "Step up", and sqeaking like a dog toy until we wake up. He also says "Hi, Ernie". (His name) My lovebird comes into the room, crawls up in bed and cuddles & goes 2 sleep on my husband's neck.

  • That little guy loves you somuch! Where did you find such a loving bird! Birds are the eyesw and ears of heaven!

  • Hello, my baby does same thing every morning!.. you know he is a bird so wakes up early... He comes flying to my bed and keep saying his name or says Peekaboo.. until I open my eyes. He loves to come under the blanket and snuggle..

    Aren't they precious!!

  • effective yet gentle too =D
