  • this guy rocks man

  • Joe is a guitar god on the "electrified Dobro (it may not be a true Dobro but sure as hell has the appearance of a new electrified version)" using the bottle neck he is king. Damn, Eric Czar is just on when it comes to driving the bottom out of the song on bass. I bow to the bands greatness. Just wish Czar and Joe would get back together.

  • @kingofcanton So do I man...gotta include Kenny Kramme on drums too. That combination was absolute perfection!

  • Why is the"crowd" so calm? How can you stand around like a damn scarecrow?! Bonamassa puts so much energy into his performance; I'd fucking destroy that place!

  • Next to Derek Trucks and Eric Johnson, he is a king on slide. Amazing licks!

  • @ifilmandotherstuff Have you ever heard "Eric Sardinas" ? He's outfreakinragious!!

  • The river is a perfect place to lose your soul. This song is the best slide song I've heard in years. Joe is truly one of favorite blues musicians ever!

  • The man has been touched by god. Simple as dat.

  • I'm feeling the Black Crowes here.

  • This is the best slide guitar tone I have ever heard, Joe's not my favourite slide player, his strengths lie elsewhere, but shit, that sound is intoxicating

  • This really rocks!!!

    5*

  • The best , I love joe and been a fan for years ~I especialy love your vid ...in my favorite ! :)) gus

  • Joe the best rock and folck, Greeting of Uruguay...Very strong, veryyyyy powerrrrrrrr!!!!!...thank so much for upload.

  • anyone feel voodoo child in this song?

  • @bondman00794 yeah

  • @bondman00794 I can't hear Voodoo Chile (that's not a typo), but listen to Joe's Pain and Sorrow.

    THAT is very Hendrix! :)

  • Amen to this!

  • Take a look at my band's page. We play "The great flood" by bonamassa at a gig in Mo i Rana - Norway.

    Bonamassa rules!!!

  • @MrPlainsteel Yes you can:-)) It`s called "Live at Rockpalast" and it is awesome!!

  • He play like the best.... But he sings like hell...

  • superb audio/video from Rockpalast and one of the best living guitar players..this is exquisite stuff..make sure to listen to Joe's Burning Hell from Rockpalast too

  • Just discovered this guy from Pandora...OMG how could I have missed this legend? Efin love this guy and this song!

  • This is brilliant!!

  • @Ghostorchid2 amen em kon look at him slidin' down that guitar neck, high time blues. hope your week goin good xoxo.

  • This concert beats the Royal Albert Hall concert, and that concert was one of the greatest live concerts ever. IMHO. I just love the energy this 3 piece puts out.

  • This whole set (DVD) is absolutely cutting edge in tone and guitar style. Move over Clapton, Move over Davy Gilmour, Move over....

  • a lot of similarities with voodoo child. the reason why it kicks ass!

  • awesome.

  • I heard this in the car with my mom a few weeks ago. When the drums kicked in we were both rockin' to this song. I've got a cool mom :')

  • I grew up with this music. Zep, Sabbath, Hendrix, Deep Purple, Clapton, Chicken Shack, Creme etc,etc I saw a video of Joe when he was 12 and thought maybe this CAN continue. Guess What!!. Joe is rockin the house with the style and taking it to the next evolution. There IS hope! Buy all the albums you can get and see all the concerts you can see. The memories serve you well in later years, trust me. This guy is a one of a kind. Support the man and enjoy the music.

  • Awesome song, but I really can't help but wonder... where's the slide solo that precedes the song?

  • all of you you are ignorants. this song is the quasi-copy of led zeppelin song "when the levee breaks" which is an awesome song by the way

  • @Ryryguitarist I think you’re the ignorant one, Led Zeppelin stole the song from Kansas Joe McCoy and Memphis Minnie…

  • @Ryryguitarist isnt that part of what makes it good? that wasnt a zep original either... tsk tsk...

  • I'm not sure why more people don't love Joe's vocals. I do. Black Country Communion's singer is rediculous, like Humble Pie live at the filmore. But I prefer Joe being the frontman still. Maybe if BCC does this song, we can compare vocals? I do agree this slide work is amongst the best I've ever seen.

  • If this is what hell looks and sounds like......I wanna go there!!!

  • That's not a Les Paul, that's a Chandler.

I really wish Joe's voice was stronger, or he just got someone to straight up sing for him. This song needs a vocal powerhouse, and that's just not Joe.

That being said I'd kill to lay down slide like that.

  • Yes I fully agree, this is who Stevie Ray passed the blues torch to. Brother you can come hang with me and the rest of the Delta Blues rats anytime bluesman ! This is one cat that did not have to go to the crossroads, nor make no deal. He was born with the gift !!

  • I guess I'd be the cockiest man on earth if I could play like this!

  • SRV's successor

  • Holy Crap, listen 2 that guitar tone 1:37 when the bass 'n drums kick in! .. Killer!

  • Joe is killer with the slide. This song is just MEAN and GRITTY in the best possible way.

  • the first video in my life with no dislikes ... I understand why ...

  • Somebody could tell me how to get a tone like this?, you know FX, Stomp Box etc. Thanks.

  • @AlbertSerrano A Gibson Les Paul, a good large overdriven tube amp with lots of head room, and maybe a tube screamer :-)

  • That ending is sooo awesome! Love it when they let the snare get some space!

  • voodoo joe!!!!!!

  • Joe has a few better live performances of this song on Youtube. IMO But this is by far the best quality recording.

  • did he have a van down by the river? also if he died down by the river than how is he still alive singing? I don't appreciate some one who lies in there music.

  • @samueladamdonahue You are an idiot. Since when have all songs been autobiographical? Oh, sorry. I'm sure thats too big of word for you. Instead of making comments about music you clearly don't like, let alone understand, how bout you go back to your Air Supply and Culture Club cassettes, and finish up your wine and cheese platter before your book club gets there. Douchebag.

  • @ccbunn1968 all the good song's are true(or at lest come from a true experience). also, nothing made my day better than to read your reply...haha Where would this country be with out people like you? ( people who don't have a good point so they spend the whole time handing out insults)

  • If you don't catch this guy live your missing out on some great times.

Joe Bonamassa has flown under the radar for too long and needs for people to reach out to others and show them how great he truly is!!

  • This is REAL music !!!

  • Absolutely brilliant on the part of all the musicians.

  • This is f.b. good music.

  • this man could well be the next SRV

  • @17Hongo yes but probably won't be heard of by the mainstream..... because they like to listen to cats fucking god awful music. NO Offense to them of course.

  • @187alacran yes offense to them, its their fault they listen to shitty music

  • @17Hongo If this means for him to die way too young, then no please, please not. but according to everything else... bloody hell yeah!

  • @17Hongo No, he could be the first Joe Bonamassa.

  • @17Hongo i can understand the comment in the fact that he is a great and influential player. but i don't think SRV is a fair judgement of this guy, he's kinda in a field all to himself,

  • @nikgottheblues What you say is true, although Joe's influences can be seen clearly in his earlier work - this one carries a certain similarity to Jimmy Page. What is also true is that Joe Bonamasssa is probably the new top dog in the Blues genre - just as the late great Stevie Ray was before him.

  • @17Hongo SRV is awesome in his own rite, but JoeyB is no next no one. This man is a genius and there ain't No Better or Equal !!

  • @17Hongo could? only that? nür das? só isso?

  • @17Hongo no! this man is Joe Bonamassa!!! He's not like SRV.

  • @17Hongo or let him be just joe ;D

  • @17Hongo He Saw SRV and Raised Him .... to another level

  • kinda remainds me a little bit of vodoo chile...

  • @gildigol yeah that was the first song i thought about

  • slide baby slide ..........................

  • Amazing song. I WILL be going to see him may next year when he comes to australia

  • I cant wait to see this playing in Zagreb this month.

  • Go Joe
