The R & B All Stars were actually all Screaming Lord Sutch's Savages who had just left him. The bass player, Ricky Fenson went on to be a member of the Brian Auger Trinity

Thanks for posting this. I used to have this EP way back and played it to death. I bought it in Littlewoods Dept store of all places ! I can't remember what happened to it, but I would love to get my hands on a copy . Sadly, much of Cyril's stuff is hard to come by on CD etc these days. Brings back many a happy memory ......great !
There have been some rude comments posted on this site. I think that Cyril was a brilliant harmonica player and The Sound of Cyril Davies EP remains a treasure in my collection.
Country Line Special was No A1 on the bar juke box at EEL PIE Island in the early 60's and very well worn it was too. The All Stars were a magnetic live act, subversive older folk giving hope to acne popping teenagers.
Great to hear this stuff does anyone know who played guitar and piano on this? - AND 'Chicago Calling' too - Art Wood used to do a GREAT live version of that - if you like this, its well worth checking out Carlo Little's recently released CD which his wife and daugters managed to get pressed after his sad death - It's a real Gem and he'd be proud of it - I guess you can order it through his site - 'might just have one more listen and raise a glass to The All Stars - God bless 'em!
@Diddleywah The piano coukld have been played by my father Keith Scott. He was on quite a few of the All Stars singles. Shame he left the music scene and only the family hear him play these days!

I hear Sonny Terry's influence in there and B harmonica - which Terry used often.

Diddleywah - your old man didn't play piano on this, it was NICKY HOPKINS! Keith played the Hohner Clavinet on the next 45 "Preachin' The Blues".
