I've always loved the sound of a good les paul. It gives that nice mellow sound on clean but a good chunky rock sound on distortion. A fine choice of guitar.

The amp sounds better without the tube screamer, the screamer sounds thin and plinky. The trick with the classic is to put an eq in the front. And a few preamp tube changes

ive never really liked les pauls. im not used the bulky neck in the back. at guitar center i played a schecter V-1 which was 900 and then a gibson LP standard that was like 3000 and the V-1 was better. Gibson = Epi + the famed name

@lupusgertv The traditional is basically what the standard was up until 2008. The 2008 standard has a non symetrical neck profile and hottet pickups. The traditional is designed to be more like les pauls of old. It has a 50's round neck profile and 57 classic and classic + pickups. It's also slightly heavier than the 2008 standard. I went for a traditional and love it

Actually SGs were first made as a lighter different looking les paul. Les himself didnt like them so Gibson removed his name from them and jus stuck with SG (Solid Guitar). Yet some people still call them Les Paul SGs.

Great Guitar, and nice choice of riffs. Nice Guitar skillz as well. I have a 95 Gibson Les Paul Standard, same Cherryburst finish, and I play through a Marshall Half Stack. Amazing Tone, and I would not part with them for the world.

great sound, i have a 1961 les paul sg and would not part with it for anything, i bought it as used in 1965 for £60 and its the best £60 ive ever spent, i love gibson, they seem to stand out above the rest, fender is also a favourite of mine.

both the guitar companies you mention here are terrible, if you were going to get a gibson or fender you might aswell get an ESP, they are better guitars, more reliable and nicer to look at than a fender or a gibson, plus ESP have models that are similar in appearance to fender and gibson, the only difference being that they sound better and are more reliable and nicer to play than a gibson or a fender

i know where u can get a les paul copy guitar for 150 $ its a really good 1 to ..its got the gibson sound and look really ballsy sound and the killer look.
