  • Duncan is gorgeous!!!

  • wat een ongeloofelijk schattig en mooi paard, hij is wel gek met jou zo te zien

  • I've loved animals my whole life, especially dogs and horses, they're just so beloving and intellgent! When I was about to start out learning to ride, I think I was about 5 years old, my mom brought me to her lessons. I tried it out and I think I loved it. But mom says that after an hour of being at the stable, I had a strong alergic reaction and had to go to closest hospital as fast as possible. After that, I'm not allowed close to horses again, it can cause my death. It's like a curse.. :'(

  • Ozzy ♥

  • @ikvelena Nope, sorry!

  • Love it

    you 2are awsome riders

    gorgoues horses

    i have a question?

i am learning to canter at the mintue and i am atually really nervoues ad unconfendent is there an excersise to help me get over this ? thankyou xx

  • @horsesarecutee First off, do you feel secure at the walk and trot? Are you able to balance independently without relying on your hands for support? If so, if it's just confidence issues, you might ask your instructor to introduce you to cantering on the lunge line with a quiet school horse. That way, you can acclimate to the movement and rhythm of the canter without worrying about steering and keeping the horse going, and focus on yourself.

  • @dragonfly1030

yeah im confident at a tort and walk :)

and thankyou so much ! i will ask tommrow about being lunged :)

  • what breed is duncan?

  • He's stunning!

  • J'adore Duncan, il est so wonderful ! <3<3

MSG ME FOR MORE INFO ! :D

  • do you do any mounted games? your pony's look like they would be great games pony's ; ) and um yeah i did once stand on my pony but then bare foot!! :P

  • i really want your horse he has such a sweet face

  • omg he is sooo cute!!!!!!! I cant stop watch his videos :D

  • hehe he is so cute! anyway, good idea patting him wen u were getting up to crouch on his back! XD

  • wow...walk 2 jump....=O

  • Yeah, I know! It was definitely strange. I opted to try it since I read that it's occasionally a test they offer up to riders in certain shows. I was curious how my horse would react.

  • Luck I can't jump higher than 2'3 if you don't own a horse. and you can't jump out of lesson. unless your a trainer

  • It makes sense why some barns have that rule (esp. for insurance reasons). For every person who wouldn't go crazy, there will be the people who will get themselves or their horses hurt (not saying you're one of them, but you get my drift).

  • Yeah. A lot of barns where I live you cant jump unless your with a trainer.

  • What song is this?

  • Random YT audioswap song...no idea.

  • beautiful horses, great rider, great positions, this movies cool, havn't seen a placid horse like that in a long time :) my pony goes spastic just when i am getting on him, ur horse has great manners, did u train it? its really responsive

  • Yes. The piebald (Ozzy) is young and green, but his owner works very well with him. Duncan I have worked with extensively to help him be a little more cool, calm, and collected. He has his moments. :)

  • omg because i moved to my dads house, i told my mum that my pony was too fat, and there was something wrong with him, and she wouldn't listen, and now the old owner took my pony away and said i was neglecting it, but it was my mum's fault, and i neva got to kiss him once good bye, i never even get to say good bye, he is just gone forever, like my other horse that got taken away from me, no one cares in this world, i hate life :'(

  • Wow...I am not sure what to say. That sounds very terrible, obviously. I wish you the best of luck that things work out better for you in the days ahead...

  • thanks, plz watch my new video, its my pony, does he look neglected to u? this stupid lady says he is, just cuz she wants him for free :(

  • You look like you really understand horses. Like when ever he looked unsure when you stood on him, you pat and reasured him. I think he really trusts you!

  • i love the part at the end were he just tries to eat your feet! so cute! you do a great job with him!!

  • aww thats so cute wen you stand up, and hes listning to wat ur doin, u can see his ears, hes like, "hmm, wats she up to back there?" lol

  • OMG THATS A PRETTY HORSE!!!!

  • aww its so sweet when he turns to nibble your feet! good effort i dont think id ever be able to balance on my horses back like that haha he wont stand still!! xx

  • Aww he's adorable, well they both are! (:

Love how he trys to eat your foot! Teehee what a sweety :)

    5 starrs for youuu: )

  • Thanks :)

  • i don't know if anyone suggested it yet, but you should pick up a pair of vaulting slippers-- they have nice grippy undersoles perfect for standing on horses.

  • Cool idea--are they expensive? I'd look into it, because it is certainly much safer than socks!

  • aww so cute! I love at the end when he tries to play with your tootsie! haha xD he seems like a real sweetie!

  • Thanks, he's got such a sense of humor! :)

  • 2.09 is such a cute clip.

i like how you gradually get on his back and not just jump lol

    he is so sweet xD

  • Thank you :)

  • oh cool hehe xx

  • aww he so cute! he looks like a lovely pony. you do you do that walk jump lol wouldnt he just have stopped lol ? ? x xx

  • In some competitions, you do have to do a walk jump. It is a skill worth having in the toolbox. :)

  • You have a very nice horse =)

  • Thank you :)

  • It's so cute that he was curious about your sock! haha

  • lol! sock monster!

  • hehe, he tried to eat ur toes! lol! XD

  • Indeed! Though personally I can't imagine they'd taste that good...

  • lovely! Have you moved barns? xx

  • Thanks! We moved to this barn back in March of 2008.

  • oh haha...im very observant... x

  • Ah, don't worry about it!

  • is that hard

  • Standing up on the horse? It probably wouldn't have been if not for my socks!

  • Awuh, duncan is like LEMMUH SMELL YOUR FEETS (:

  • haha

  • i know Duncan is a buckskin, but is that all he is?

or is he mixed with another breed?

he is absolutly gorgeous! you are truely lucky ^^

  • He is a registered Paint with papers, so that's what he is. :)

  • Duncan is cutie too. My horse used to turn and try to nibble at my toes too!

  • Thank you, haha!

  • Is that for the summer? I would LOVE to watch it! I think it'd be a more realistic long-term goal. What I like about the class is that you have some options w/ the jump height, so as soon as we're showing consistently at 3'6, it'd be fun to give it shot.

  • DUNCAN IS MY FAVORITE HORSE! i had a dream that you and him were at my barn (weird, right) and i asked to ride duncan and you said no for some reason. it was really wierd. lmao. btw i HEART the breeches u were wearing in this vid! what kind are those?? i <3 them. sorry haha

  • I don't know why my comment didn't come up when I replied, argh! I was saying that I don't think I'd be that much of a crab. :) I think these are breeches that say "Equi-Fit" on the tag that I bought like 5 years ago. I fell off the day before a show and had to buy these b/c my others had mud stains that I had no hope of getting out without my mom's assistance, and I was in PA at the time. :)

  • I totally know what you mean with the socks and trying to stand on them! haha!

  • Haha. It made him way too slippery, esp. with his winter coat!

  • Also, nice job on working towards standing on Duncan's back. Brianna's former trainer Heather would hop and up and down from her pony like it was nothing. I would be like you and taking it at a snail's pace! Your horse has to be chill and you have to be very balanced, and it takes lots of practice and trust! You look well on your way and I look forward to seeing it when you get all the way! Rock on!

  • Thank you! I think I'll wait for a warm day when I can have bare feet!! :)

  • Really nice job walking the fence! I actually did that for the first time last week in a lesson. It is WAY harder than you would think! It took me a few rounds just to get an idea of what I and my horse were supposed to be doing. Of course, my horse was being lazy and not jumping with her front end. Which only further exagerated the power that comes when they take off with their back end. Ugh! Oh well, I still thought it was a very worthwhile exercise. I'm sure you dug it too!

  • It is definitely weird, but I agree that it's worth knowing how to do. The next obstacle I'd like to tackle is a small raised bank. My guess is that Duncan would try to jump the whole thing. Obviously, since there's the potential for it to go terribly wrong, I think I'd have someone with experience there to show me how to do it! :)

  • This day was so much fun. I love that we get to ride together now. Though the NUMBER of videos we put up has suffered terribly, it's amazing to be able to ride our horses together. I'm so glad we have each other to do all of this with. Love you, Girl!

  • Haha. It would definitely not be nearly as fun without you there!! Ozzy's done wonders for Duncan's self-confidence, too!

  • Haha, what's up w/ the song? All I hear was a note on the guitar and it stopped! Argh! I hate YouTube! I want to switch to another provider! One of my recent videos got copyrighted, and I just about hit the roof.

  • It did that to my most recent Shelby video where I swapped the audio, too! Obnoxious!!

  • What's up w/ all of these self-indulged music artists? Don't they care that we love their songs?

  • It's not even them, it's these record companies. All of them should just allow the song to go up and put a link to Amazon and iTunes, like some of the songs do...then everyone's happy and they make money.

  • Thank you so much! :D Btw, I did an audio swap...and it didn't work! Argh...

  • Wow. Duncan is such a good boy. Cam and I tried a walk jump. Didn't go so well... Oh, and the part at the end was so cute! Made me giggle. :)

  • Thank you! I say just keep at it; your horse was probably confused, too! Duncan definitely was, but I lucked out! :)

  • Of course...*smacking forehead* I even picked an artist signed by UMG, who usually allows their songs to be used...whatever.

  • you oughta call him Bart :P instead of "eat my shorts" Duncan's phrase should be "eat your socks" :D

  • Haha

  • That was cute when Duncan sniffed

your sock :) He is such a great horse!

Is Ozzy a paint? Or a pinto? And...

    Was your friend counter-cantering Ozzy?

I think thats what it's called?

  • Ozzy is an Irish Sport Horse, actually! Ozzy is on the correct lead in the video; it may just be difficult to see b/c he's blurry when passing the camera, and the footage is shot from a distance as the camera was on the wall.

  • Cool, an Irish Sport Horse, Awesome! I didn't

mean Ozzy was cantering on the wrong lead, he is on the correct lead :) I meant when he was cantering down the right side he was tilting to the side of the wall, sort of almost yielding, but in canter. He was doing it while trotting to, it's nothing bad, it is actually in dressage, but I don't know what it's called ;)

  • i think you might be referring to the move "shoulder in"? it's a move in dressage where the should it tilted to the inside. Hehe i'm not much of a dressage buff myself though :D I think what you're seeing here is Ozzy fighting away from the wall hah.

  • He's still getting the idea of steering, esp. at the canter...so what you're seeing is what USNBRAT91 said. He's not ornery or anything, but he's still learning about responding to leg pressure, the rein of opposition, etc. He's a fast learner, though! :)

  • Hahaha! It's called Ozzy is a beast to keep on the rail! ;) Nothing that fancy for him yet, just him fighting me to stay near the wall. (Mel can attest to that!) Thanks for thinking we're that talented though! :)

  • very nice! when I worked at the camp we would stand barefoot on the ponies, that works better.... and what works even better is doing in the lake ;)

  • Haha, Duncan was like, "Mmm...feet!"--You guys look really good! You should do equitation w/ him; he would make an excellent equitation horse, I think!

  • Thanks! I might consider it for us...we have to get a bit more consistent in a few respects, but I think it'd be fun.

  • eeek. :] i've been waiting for another duncan video! <3

    you guys are so good!

  • Thank you! :)

  • aw you guys look amazing!

  • Thank you!

  • wow such beualtiful horses! i love how patient you were for standing up o him duncan i think?!! you guysiding remind me of me and my friends riding! we always are hardworking, trying to accomplsih things but stil haveing fun and fooling around. awme job! great riding

  • Thank you! Yep, the buckskin is Duncan. :)

  • OMg Duncan is sooo insanely cute i love his eyes they remind me of my mares :)

  • Thank you :)

  • aww he's so cute lol. gd walk jump btw!

urmm r u allowed 2 trot directly after the jump? just wondering. have done the walk trot once or twice before with Utah-he was really confused lol!

  • I don't know, actually! In the hunter derby footage I've watched, it usually starts a course, so people canter off after that...but for the sake of an eq. test, I'm not sure.

  • Those socks look mightly tasty. Seems like both boys did very well cantering together like that i know you both had to wait a long time to be able to ride together like that so you must be so happy the days are finally here. He did well with the walking jump to just proves yet again eventhough he dint undertand it to well and was confused he still did it because thats what you asked of him way to go.

  • Thank you! :) I was so thrilled to see how well the two of them work together at the canter. Duncan was so willing, it was fabulous!

  • he is sooo cute i whis i had one like his color lol u 2 are good

  • Thank you :)

  • Good to see your getting into equitation! :D Thank you. xD And Ozzy is looking great!

But I do so aprreciate your videos. Please don't kill yourself with the trick-riding fever! xD (I had it to for a while)

  • Hahaha, I'm not much for trick riding! Thank you so much! :)

  • at the end hes like "um, mom, thats not how you're supposed to do it.. whatever"

amazing for a 3 year old!

  • The piebald is the three year old. :) Duncan's my guy, the buckskin (he's gonna be 8 in March). Thanks for commenting! :)

  • wow, I never thaught id see the day that you two would canter together! and I loved when Duncan tried to eat your sock, that was hilarious! :)

  • Haha, thanks!

  • aww the jumpe from the walk was perfect!

it looked like you have been working on it for months. they are both such good boys!

    :]

  • Thank you! :)

  • Wo this is great! I have been mentioning to my friends about trying to stand, thanks for the warning about socks because I was about to do it haha and then I would fall! =P Wow he did great for the walk jump, if we tried doing it with any of the horses at my barn they would definetely refuse if haha! Good job =)

  • I figured the heels on my tall boots would jab at him and annoy him, so I tried to do him a favor...but I think it would be an activity better suited to bare feet. It was way too cold for that, though. I'm SUPER paranoid about not having appropriate footwear around horses...I literally took my boots off on the mounting block, and they went right back on as soon as I hopped off!

  • haha ya. i wouldn't do it with boots, and would u do it with a saddle? i am debating to whether do it with one or withough. ya it probably would be too cold for me too to do barefoot lol!

  • I was concerned about the saddle...I was fearful that there'd be the possibility of it twisting or pinching him somehow. I was thinking that my bareback pad might have some potential, though.

  • Oh that's a good idea, thank you.

  • Thank you! :)

  • It's very scary once you are halfway standing up and you look around and then you look down!

I stood up on a 17hh OTTB and I was so scared, ahaha.

  • Wow, that's a LONG way down!!

  • YAY!!!! I MISSED DUNCAN VIDEOS!!!! and that last clip where you were trying to stand on him was absolutely adorable! hes so patient and sweet! and HANDSOME!!!!

  • Thank you!! :)

  • he thinks your feet taste good.

  • ahaha aww he was trying to eat your foot.

    (:

  • Haha, just a light snack!

  • That is way to cute at the end. He just chills out and doesn't mind at all it looks like. What a sweetie :)

  • Thank you :) I think he was amused; plus, he was thrilled he just had to stand there and chill with Ozzy. :)

  • aww Duncans back! I loved the cantering footage a. because ozzy is so young and completly fine with another horse in canter without speeding up?! and b. because you were in perfect time to go on and off screen! Duncans such a clever boy he totally understood the jump from walk, i know many expearienced horses who would of told you, NO.

  • Ozzy was such a champ, and he continues to be about working with other horses in the ring! Jen has done such a great job gradually introducing him to many different experiences in a positive way. He is going to be such a confident boy (err, giant) when he grows up! :) Duncan really impressed me with the walk jump. This was our first time ever attempting something like that, and other than being confused as to why I didn't want him to at least trot, Dunc took it like a champ! :)

  • wow ur brave to do that!! lol i wish i cud stand on my horses back hahaha

  • I never tried it with any other horse before trying it with Duncan. I figured it'd be a good way to encourage trust on both of our parts...which is also why we're doing it in slow increments. It doesn't help that I'm not the most graceful human being! ;)

  • I love how chill Ozzy is with having another horse jumping in the arena :) Duncan has gotten sooo good about passing head on... you should be proud!!! The opening clip of both of you guys cantering your boys made me smile :)Dunc did well wiht the walking jump too! And he was pretty calm about you playing around on his back :D You're sooo close to standing all the way up... cool! This was an awesome video... an quite short for you!

  • Ozzy is SO chill for his age, it's not even funny--I give Jen all the credit in the world for helping him to really cultivate that part of his personality. Since I was having my camera film from the wall for most of the video, there was a lot of "dead" time when neither horse was in the frame. When I got done editing it down to the "good" parts, this was what I had. I agree, much shorter than usual! ;)

  • I agree - Jen has really brought out the best in him. I haven't seen many 2 year(almost 3?) olds like that! Hahah i know what you're saying... there is always so much dead/boring time when you film a whole session of riding haha

  • Yep, he's approaching three...I could be wrong, but I think his bday is in April? I should really know that, he's practically my godchild!

  • Hehe yeah I was thinking, I've been referring to him as a 2 year old for a while now... he has to turn three eventually lol. Hah, that's cute - I call myself the self-appointed god mother of my friends horse too.
