  • AWESOME!! Had driven 1,200 miles to Dad's. He & I sat, watched the "Wild Kingdom Show" on his place. Beautiful.

Last time He & I shared that. JD's music "sang" me home. L O N G trip back! Exhausted. Kept driving, knowing the outcome.

My flt. back, from Dad's funeral, JD's music. Came home, put JD's CD'S in & cranked up my stero.

  • So thankful we were fortunate to be here during the days of Denver's contributions. Even got to go to several of his concerts. No one before or since has managed to capture so well the spirit of this country.

  • America just has never been the same since the loss of John Denver. He captured the best about us as a nation.

  • Awesome thx! ;)-

  • If someone like Denver was in charge or was a leader of the world's people... what could possibly go wrong? .. nothing but peace and love...

  • Brings tears to my eyes. What a beautiful song.

  • It's always good to hear John's voice, in words and in song, again, plus see him with those infectious smiles. Still tearful with his passing!

  • His music just makes you feel good inside. God bless him.

  • Oh, Jesus, bless than man...

  • R.I.P. John Denver.

  • I hope this video of yellow stone coming home stays on as we can't get it any where else. He was a great singer and person and will never be forgotton by his fans. He definately left a mark in this world. angusyoung111 thankyou for this video can it be gotton any where I would love to have the song as well. Thankyou.

  • Beautiful!

  • The spirit and music of John Denver live on in so many of us. My life is better because of John. He was so pure and natural and he cared about the things that mattered. Thank you God for John Denver.

  • Perhaps you can define "educated" for me. You certainly didn't pay attention in English class. That's not a slap at you. An individual's correct use of grammar and punctuation at least partially indicates their attention to detail in other areas; and when someone is lackadaisical in their grammar, it makes me a little leery of the content . If you have something to say, take the time to say it well.

  • @captainscott2 The pronoun for any particular quality (here "attention to detail") possessed or evinced by an "individual" needs to be in singular form and cannot be "their."

  • I had the privilege, over the years, of meeting and speaking with you twice...I miss you, JD....maybe we'll meet again one day......

  • There are few great people who leave their mark on the world, a legacy to follow, but John was indeed one of them.

  • su espiritu esta en todas las montañas del mundo, donde la naturaleza es salvaje y libre.......gracias John..

  • You cross the illuminati.....they kill you. They killed John Denver and John Lennon. That episode with the video "Its a Hell of a Race to Call Men" was bad enough for them and promptly got banned in most countries and led to RCA terminating his contract even though he had out sold Elvis in albums. Then he started working on this major conscious provoking album and I guess they had enough. At least we will be able to hear him in heaven....there wont be any illuminati there. God is good!

  • @kevingthompson13 ....I think you have lost your mind........

  • @captainscott2 YEA, well I didnt see you post any explainations. As an educated person I have seen these things really develop over my lifetime. You google; "illuminati" and see how many hits you get.Youtube search it and watch some of the videos. Its WHO they are and WHAT they do. Its all book of Revelation. Its all New World Order. Its all real, whether you like it or not.

  • What video is this from? I love this, thanks for posting.

  • @snokidin Hi... The video of John Denver singing "Yellowstone, Coming Home" was from the PBS Series, "Nature." He was featured on one of the episodes. The episode was appropriately called "John Denver: Let there be a Voice." It aired about 8 years ago. I'm sure that this episode is probably available from one of the PBS sites/stores. It was a great show- I had seen it when it aired. It really captured his inner-child that was evident when he was in the wild. great show.

  • We miss you John Denver! : (

  • This is brilliant! I don't know what else to say!

  • Does anyone know if this was ever released on CD? I've been looking for it for months at the local stores.

  • @TheTEXANJEDI No, it wasn't. It was on the PBS Show "Nature." The episode was called "John Denver: Let there be a Voice". It aired about 8 years ago, and I'm pretty sure the DVD is available through a PBS website. The show highlighted his advocacy- with a camping trip in Yellowstone park. It did include some of his music as well. It was a good show.

  • @jdenicol Thank you!

  • This man was a voice for the wild, and an inspiration for future generations to love and appreciate all the beauty that nature has to offer--and to protect it.

  • Mr. Denver was a Decent and Honorable Man.

  • Has anyone ever seen Steve Irwin & John at the

same place / same time ? ....hmm....

  • @TheHibernaculum Those are the only two people who's deaths I still mourn while never having met them. I guess it is because they were genuine people full of genuine passion. They had their flaws but don't we all. Good call on the look alike.

The Rocky Mountains , Or West Virginia,

You are a spirit in these places. Last of an old breed. You are free as the Rivers, Mountains and the seas. You are free as the wind. You are home !!!!!!

  • Doesn't he look like the Steve the crocidile hunter?

  • John was an environmentlist long before it was fashionable---a true artist and trailblazer--a wonderful man i miss.

  • just brilliant mate thank you

  • I sometimes wonder if he was actually murdered, because of the music he wrote and how he touched on something in so many people that the media mad politicians never will.

All those people want to do is destroy Nature but John encouraged people to embrace it!

It was just a thought, but he wouldn't be the first person to be killed in a crash, a person who was loved by so many, but who was also hated by the evil rulers of this world.

  • is that peter coyote commentating

  • wow. I am simply speechless. I always loved his music but even more important what a beautiful person. There will never be another quite like him.

  • I didn't know about this song, I am in tears. Thank You so much for sharing this. I believe the world has lost a little of it's softness with John.

  • Forever John Denver! GOD bless you!

  • Statistics show people are still moving to urban centres in great %. This bodes well for us in the country/wild.

  • passion at it`s finest!

  • |'ve been looking for this for a long time! Thanks! :D

  • Love you always John xxx

  • I cry every time I see I see this. I wish more people in this world were like John. But he was clearly one of a kind, the diamond in the rough.

  • He shaped every aspect of my Life. I was Blessed to have met him, look into his eyes and to simply-sincerely,lovingly say THANK YOU. I will miss You-until we meet again on the other side my friend.

  • I am so thankful for this video showing Johns love for the wolves, eagles, & all wild life. He said he was a lover . So that says alot about a man. A hunter that doesn't eat what he kills is a killer.

My brothers were hunters & ate what they killed. May God bless John Denver & all his achievements in fullfilling his dreams

'Saving Wildlife" Wolves, eagles, whales,& the ocean. These are a few he mentioned

    & showed. ~~Ava~~

  • I love this video. I love nature, and I am so proud of John Denver! He was a gift, from God, to the world. • Dios bendiga a john por siempre.....te extrañamos...

  • I live in the Canadian Rockies. Thank you John may your Catholism live strong. Long live the Church of England.

  • this song is hauntinling beautiful and really is remarkable, howl of wolves, John always knows how to make his vocie and his guitar make a sense of being in a natural envirenment, wheather a dark nighten forest amongst stars, or a blustering river bank amongst bears and bass.

  • Your so right!

  • gosh this is so beautiful, always brings a tear to my heart, John Denver is a bright and smart and caring individual I would of love to have know, his knowledge and activities among the wild is truly a great gift. I know he's amongst the angels in a higher form then a mere mortals such as ourselves.

  • Beautiful ***** stars

  • I am so happy to have found this video of John Denver with wolves,These very wolves are probably the ones shown that the hunters have killed. How very sad.

John knew they were being killed.

May God bless John Denver for trying to save them while he could. John is flying high with the Eagle that was pictured.

What a wonderful video done in memory

of John Denver for his sweet family & friends.

  • Have been to Yellowstone many times.

    Truly a work of God.

    Beautiful video.

    Thanks for sharing Ava.

  • that is so sad

  • Oh my I had not seen this!! John Denver was and will always be my favorite.. .. he put his heart into his music. He is sooo missed. Does anyone know if you can purchase this song?

  • no you cant :( the recording in the video is the only one as he died before it was finished properly, big shame :(

  • Comment removed

  • Not to my knowledge, he never made it into the recording studio with this song, the only reason this exists is from the Nature special of John drafting down the Colorado River writing this song.

  • awesome. Thanks for posting this video for all of us.

  • RIP John

  • let everything you know about John inspire you to make the changes that he so wanted to make and his memory will never die and the earth will sing his songs forever.

  • I love the look of awe/admiration that John gives the hawk at about 2:12. What inspiration. I completely agree, that "We too want to be wild and free". God Bless John, maybe we shall meet in that far green country beyond the swift sunrise.

  • I did not finish high school my senior year..Instead I took care on my cancer rid mother. She loved his music. John is a memory like many we love but his music remembers. We Love Hime because he loved us first !

  • Oh how beatiful

  • What a great video and a beautiful song! I've never been to Alaska, but would love to some day. Once, again JD touches the very depths of your soul with his voice!

  • I have been to Alaska no wonder John loved it and sang about it so well. He and his music will never be forgotton. He was the greatest entertainer.I have also been to Aspen a beautiful place as well. Australian Fan 2009.

  • Very nice film!! The wildlife is beautiful!!

  • john denver had the most beautiful voice ever

  • What a beautiful man!!!!

  • I would like to apologise to the family of Steve Irwin for spelling his surname incorrectly on my previous comment. I have discovered that this documentary was part of a PBS Nature Series, and I would dearly like to have it on DVD if anyone knows if it is available to purchase. I live in the UK so not sure I can buy it here. Going back to Julia Butterfly Hill mentioned earlier, I feel she and John would also have been friends as she was trying to preserve 1000 year old trees from destruction.

  • This is a beautiful video accompanying a lovely last song from John. Nice to see John playing in the water with his daughter Jesse Belle & trying to educate us about preserving wild life. Like Steve Erwin,he was at one with nature and in conservation and I feel they could have been great buddies, sharing a love for all living creatures in the world, and an aim to protect and preserve them. Likewise I think John would have admired Julia Hill for the stance she took protecting a Giant redwood tree

  • Its like he knew he would die. He makes this song. COMING HOME. Oh so beautiful. Its so hard to belive his dead. I feel sorry for him. But he made the most beautiful last song.

  • The wolves of Yellowstone are also in great danger and need our protection. We must all stand together and speak out for the wolves!

  • Save the alaskan wolves! John would have wanted us to all protest to stop the slaughter of these magnificent beings who share planet earth with us. Rest in peace, John.

  • Yes, Steve Irwin and John Denver are very akin to eachother...they even look a little alike! beautiful song...gives me chills.

  • "cruise" I agree with your comment, JD was aliken to Steve ERWIN,warriors for the wildlife, only too happy to lend their name to save the animals, I miss them both too.xx

  • yea.. me too

  • "Death is not an ending, but a symbol of movement along the path upon which we are all traveling. As it may be painful to lose contact with the physical aspect of one we love, the spirit can never be lost. We have been and always will be a part of each other." - John Denver -

  • he clearly was a lover of life, breath taking

  • In many ways,John was alot like Steve Irwin (Crock Hunter). Love for nature and life. Miss you both. May GOD bless!!

  • Last night I was so lucky to go to the world Premiere of Whisper the Wind this is a wonderful show so hense the photo slideshow.

Whisper the Wind is a stage production that combines a live concert concept with international musicians and singers performing the John Denver songs together with archival film. We loved the music of theis wonderful man. Carol x♪♪♫♫♥

  • I'm assuming that angusyoung111 is your handle here on the web. Nice to see a fellow AC/DC fan who appreciates JD as well. Rock on, my friend!

  • here spirit still can hope here to u john

    keep the heart moving

    and learning

know people have to listen in thier heart teaching your ways

  • What a beautiful capture of the soul of the man who I considered one of my best friends growing up.....miss you John and thank you.

  • I was in the audience in Houston, TX in Sept.1997 when John introduced his 'new' song, "Yellowstone, Coming Home." He sang it beautifully and it brought tears to my eyes.

Two weeks after that concert, we lost him.

I remember thinking what a hauntingly, perfect last song he left us with..."returning, forever returning, coming home"

    Miss you John!

  • HOW INCREDIBLE- to have seen him TWO WEEEKS before the crash- I can not imagine!!!! What memories!! I saw him 3 times much earlier in his career. Have you seen the "NAAEE-Yellowstone Coming Home Project 2007" that Masassa posted on here- maybe with the Houston Symphony is what we have guessed- GREAT audio and video with it- check it out as well!!

  • Dear john, thank you for so many classical songs left for us to remember. I was grown up while listening your tender and impressive songs. Wish you happy in Heaven...! We miss you so much

  • He just left us way too early..

  • hm you're right he went home too early

when he died in 1997 the world lost a great singer

    In perpetuam memoriam ad:

    Henry John Deutschendorf/ John Denver

  • Sooo beautiful... What else can you say??

  • makes you think of all the new music he would have written and how morer he would have done for the planet and all the ones who live here....

  • this story is for john denver and we know what is the vent for life of john denver..

  • John lives forever in the hearts of all those whom his music touched... and in the heart of the wilderness that he spent so much of his life on earth working to protect. Music like his is timeless, as was his talent. There will never again be a singer with as pure a voice, or skill as a songwriter when he was inspired. May God bless you John.

  • Oh, I wish he was still here making new songs like this one. It was obvious he had a lot more story to tell, but he never got the chance.
