The series is about the war itself, so it's much more action oriented throughout.

I can see what you mean with the action, but I think that's just because the two are different. I've always thought that the whole time Luke, Han, Leia and Chewie are in the Death Star was pretty action filled. And there's the battle at the beginning of ROTJ. I don't think the movies lack action.
also, it's made by the creator of the original Dexter's Laboratory and Samurai Jack. If you like those or Star Wars at all (and definately if you liked both ever) give this a try.
