  • i already have a high end bass and i want a cheap fretless should i go with this???

  • I've played bass for a year and a half now, and I've been wanting to get a new bass, preferably an Ibanez, but I tend to play metal, like Slipknot, Korn (slap bass) and want a more...punky, Seattle Grunge sound for Nirvana, RATM, and Social Distortion. I have a Bassola 10 and Dean 09, and want to expand my sound range, but...cheaply. Is there any ideas for achieving such a tone? I like my Sasha, but I want something...a bit more versatile, since I'm starting to learn Tool...

  • @K12machinima You can achieve the tone by dialling in your EQ, not by buying a bass. Maybe investing in an overdrive pedal for the RATM and whatnot

  • 1:25- 1:31 what song is that? I recognize it.

  • @TheNamewithnumbers It's Walking on the Moon by The Police, if I'm not mistaken.

  • It may look like frets are not! They are markers future viewers lol

  • Listening to Steve Bailey or Michael Mann ring for 2 seconds is enough, go with Lines people please!

  • i scored one of these for $113. thanks to my old dean ml.

  • Does this bass (out of the box) have roundwoods or flatwoods on it?

  • God, this bass looks sexy! lol I like seeing guitars with the sunburst look.

  • this guy sure can play! :)

  • @sasukeuchihalb yeah he can play out of tune, look how he press the nothes werever he want to, you have to fret very near the fert marker but never past it or on top of it. he has a nice technique btw, but not too much fretless accuracy

  • I'd like to get a fretless, but I can't pour out a ton of money and get a Schecter or a Warwick. Should I get this one?

  • Is it just me, or do all these "fretless" bass videos have frets? Are the lines on the neck just painted on for a guide, or are there metal inserts (frets) there?

  • @jgk381 they are painted lines,

  • incredible bass playing. btw should i buy it if im doing pretty good with bass at the age of 13 and have been playing for 2 years?

  • TO anyone watching, Those arefret markers, not frets.

  • i see frets ...

  • You see fretlines.

  • @hestia165 Fretlines.

  • Yikes, frightening intonation

  • If only I could play like you.. wow.. one day, I might just get there..

  • hey, i have read a few complaints about the fret markers. can u tell me waht u think?

  • sounds like under pressure bass line in backround at :40

  • its good for the bass slaping without frets?

  • the fretboard is fau ebony...also flat wounds help that also

  • i'm a guitarist but want to get into playing bass

would you suggest buying this for a beginner to bass or buying one with frets?

  • One with frets!

  • thanks! =)

  • @universalrenote aalways with frets you can here this guy is having big trouble with intonation

  • @the1nameless definatly frets dude

  • @the1nameless get a fretless, unlined and splurge a few bucks for atleast 2 months of lessons from a person who plays electric freltess so you can develop proper technique, get some real tone and some real chops! Don't be intimidated. The only people that can't make a smooth transition from fretted to fretless are those that use improper technique and compensate for it. Right hand doesn't have much to learn so most people can't balance, have poor intonation and quit it. Work!

  • shuold i get this bass or the Rogue LX200BF fretless i cant decide, i want the extra range and unlined fingerboard of the Rogue but the quality and sound of the Squier what do you think i should do

  • Get the LX, and put better pick ups in it! And will even sound better than the Squier.

  • I would do the complete opposite

get the Squier it is alot more friendly in term of modifiying. Plus the resale value of the Squier is alot more forgiving if you find freltess wasnt your bag. Or if you want to keep the body you can retrofit a Might Mite neck pretty easily (and cheaply too)

  • Jaco didn't die, he got a tan and grew a beard.

  • Good god

  • I knew the cavemen could play like beasts!

  • thanks for playing "walking on the moon" :)

    yay

  • The bass sounds good, but it's a bit of a turnoff to not have 24 frets... I like the extra bit of range.

  • Love it! I have one of these basses, but wonder why they insist in putting the fretlines on it.... How much cooler the fretboard would look all black!

  • probably so tards can play it.....i cant play without fretlines....thats why i dont buy a fretless bass =P

but i guess some ppl are just retarded

  • Don't most fretless basses just have dots on the side?

  • I always seen them on fretless basses, also on the one showed in the video cause I own it too

  • a T.R.U.E. F.R.E.T.L.E.S.S. BASS does N.O.T. have any lines on the fretboard!

  • a T.R.U.E D.U.M.B. A.S.S. SAys dumb shit like this.

  • LoL word... even Jaco's bass had "lines" on it

  • tho to be fair the only reason jacos bass had lines on it was because his bass used to hav frets then he ripped them out which left lines

  • word!

  • @mcknifey2 True but on his "Modern Electric Bass" instructional video he admits the lines make proper intonation a lot easier.

  • Sheeeeet !!

  • I didn't know celso played the bass, well I knew he had to play something, being the manager. I know dothing about the bass, except it seems to be featured promonately in '70 porn back ground music but I do like to see everyone I know on here. Now I can go to Guitar Center and say "Hey, you , I saw you on the internet."

  • Say you saw them on UNIVERSALRENOTE, baby.

  • thats what i want. a fretless bass that still has the fret lines

  • Get one then! These ones are like 260 bucks, you cant go wrong!

  • True, but it shows where the next note is

It shows fret lines but its really fretless.

  • I paid $300 for this bass. It sounds great. This bass can compete with basses that cost over $1000 easily,

  • I owned one for three mouths while my fretless was getting worked on by Frank O. I too found it to a bass that for the money. Was sounding much more than a $300 bass.
