The fact is, the French and the British are the ones who installed the no-fly zone, not the US. The Arab League asked for it. And If you'd follow the money, you'd notice the EU is far more interested in Libya than the US would ever hope to be (as its been since the Roman Empire). In 2009 alone, the EU offered up over 400 million euros to the Libyan government... including small arms and a jet.
