Your videos are great,Jerome! I thought, that carp maniacs are only in Europe, but now I know,I was wrong...You showed me,that buying expensive carp boilies, pellets and dips is only a waste of money...As said Danny Fairbrass from England:"better spend your money on hooks". I'm waiting for Your new videos!
Do you allow people to send you baits to test? (or request baits?)
Also, you should have a donation page up (or even better, a web site).. I find your videos very useful and would definitely donate to keep them coming!
@gggbbbeee such underwater video tests take a LOT of time, and I can only do it a couple of months per year, so the list of things to try is loooong... Not much point sending me bait, quite frankly. As to donations or Web site, check your private messages...
@gggbbbeee Ive fished birdfood based boilies for years, they are very attractive to the fish and give off loads of little flakes of the birdfood which makes them very appealing. If you roll your own bait, dont be afraid to drop the fishmeal for a few extra kgs of quality birdfood, just up the milk level a bit
Congratulations. Best regards from Montenegro. Its realy nice to see this. In my Scadar Lake, people catch carps ilegaly with dynamites and with electric power. :-(
We, sport fishers, dont have a chance. Police dont work anything about that. Its said.
It was an Aqua Scout XL, but this model no longer exists. An Aquavu Explorer 5 or Explorer 7 would be my recommendation for a more recent model. The seller (Nature Vision) is located in the US. I am not quite sure if there is a reseller in Europe.
just picture a nice popped up course pellet or boilie there, i wudnt think itle last long. This is a nice vid as it gives insight to how good a pop up wud look and work among lots of rested loose feed. Popped up an inch just to stand out and that porky one who seemed to be a show pony lol kept eyeing right into the camera wud sucked it up a treat. Nice bottom to fish on to there.
Not crappie but close though. They are some species of sunfish, most likely bluegill. I wish I could go to England so I could catch roach, tench, etc.
Love in england hehe. Yeah im with you though i live in england to and dont know what they are!. Id hit a few mag covers for catching one of them smaller fish at my local fishery here i know lol
look at this dogfood, the first page shows you the type, and then try to find a similar dogfood, they dont float they sink,a perfect bait!believe me!try and catch and show your nice videos again, greetz from munich
This is sweet feed (pellets used to feed horses). Sweet because it includes molasses. You can buy it by bags of 50lb at feed stores, and you're getting something quite equivalent to CSL pellets (but much cheaper!)
Thanks Jerome - looks like a good loose feed / groundbait. might try it barbel fishing. Are you using it on the hook or as a paste - can it be mixed as a paste. Thanks for responding as well.
If you fish close to shore, you can shovel it. Otherwise, you can spod it. I've used it this way with great success to keep carp feeding. This also became an integral part of my typical recipe for method balls. Can't use it on the hook, those are basically (cheap) pellets.
Er... catdetectives, very sorry, I got mixed up between two of my videos... This video was NOT about using sweet feed! As the title rightfully says, it was birdfood. Can't remember any more details about it. Sorry again for the confusion.
Hello Jerome - bird food - will give it a go. Thanks for getting back to me. I would think the loose bait really draws them in. Will also try some dog food as per perikles88's advice - i know many use it.

Have you prepared that birdfood? If you don't it can kill the carp.
flyfisherman505 2 years ago
Sure, I soaked it and boiled it. Actually my wife did (yes, she's great). You're right, not a good idea to use it out of the bag.
JeromeMoisand 2 years ago
Good Good. I use it regularly now. Its cheap, effective and easy to use.

The fish seen at 4:20 are bluegill... identifiable by the dark spot on the gill.

You either let it soak in water for a few days (no cooking), or you just boil it for a few minutes.
JeromeMoisand 3 years ago
how do you cook it?
