@simbalivesyt Recieved wisdom says they suffer from diminishing returns but that's hardly a consideration if you've never heard any of them. 2 was largely a fuck you to his old record company and sounds very producery compared to the first one, but they're all equally eccentric and pretty.

This is first time I've heard this studio version of the Bell, as good as a studio musician Mike is, proofs just how much better a live performer he is. If you haven't seen his DVD with Tubular Bells 2 & 3 Live concerts in the UK you should.

His performance pieces live are so much more intense and he is so much more aggressive in his performances of the music that they like a whole new version of the music. Ultimately Awesome Performances

I loved this track when I was a kid. I used to (and still do) think that because the track is gradually layered and each instrument is introduced, the final effect is better because each time you listen to it, you hear a different instrument each time. You gotta love blasts from the past!
