heard this on a hungover sunday morning for the first time, listen to it on monday afternoon drinking ceaser`s and woke up tuesday morning with no job... best weekend ever
@journalistgirl07 Ever since I found out who the MC was, I have been picturing an Oldfield concert in the Great Hall at Hogwarts, with Snape on the mike. Or perhaps this tune as the music track for the final battle in Deathly Hallows Part 2...
I can't believe I was the only one in my music class other than the teacher to know who this man is. Why is he so unknown amongst kids today, because THIS is music!
People, stop posting that crap about Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber everywhere to show people how much you like "good music". Don't you understand that by publishing such comments you make them special ? It's like they really annoy you so they must be very important and infulential. I hate them too so I don't even thinkg about them.
@Gandarme1991 Yeah you're right. That's what really pisses me off, greatly. I just see comments like "this is better than Bieber" - as if no one knew that! Pathetic, really.
11 hates wtf how can u hate such a musicly talented guy like mike oldfield what a legend my dad use to listen to this in his sierra saphire and it rubbed of on me am 28 and love this LLMF
How can anyone hate this? ... Tubular Bells, The Bell? I have been playing this part of the compilation for 15 years, anyway, slowly but surely I am learning the rest of it. I listen to this when I can and if there's a Guitar then I play along.
how the hell do videos like this have any dislikes, i don't get it if you don't like it then click off of it, its not hate worthy and so why does it have dislikes!
You cannot not love Mike, and this is also refreshing, but doesn't it sound like the music they play at the Miss Universe pageant? Replace 'Glockenspiel' with 'Miss Georgia!' and... you're right in the middle of it! :))
@simbalivesyt Recieved wisdom says they suffer from diminishing returns but that's hardly a consideration if you've never heard any of them. 2 was largely a fuck you to his old record company and sounds very producery compared to the first one, but they're all equally eccentric and pretty.
when the original was done he did all the layers himself i think, it was recorded 11 years b4 i was thought of, i can blame my mum, but still is good.
have you ever tried to explain to someone that youve just heard the fucking best sound ever and they just look at you like youve just trodden in dog shit i dont care i fucking love it
@unityy ooos vas mishte vorrrrrrrrrrggggggggg!!! i know the song u mean..
Ridiculous gibberish and freaking out... yh its on the tubular bells 2nd album.. its near the end... say 2 or 3 from end.. sorry i dont know the name.. but is defo the 2nd album type it in
This is first time I've heard this studio version of the Bell, as good as a studio musician Mike is, proves just how much better a live performer he is. If you haven't seen his DVD with Tubular Bells 2 & 3 Live concerts in the UK you should.
His performance pieces live are so much more intense and he is so much more aggressive in his performances of the music that they like a whole new version of the music. Ultimately Awesome Performances

My problem was, that i always thought, that this would be tubular bells part II from 1973 because the youtube videos here are often called so.
i think, he didn't think well about the title, because the album is called tubular bells II, and the song too!!!
