  • One of my favs. imho no suitable arrangement for three guitars. Antoine alone makes you believe that three guitars are playing. 2 additional make it somewhat muddy. But to see those three onstage must be a threat.Still have to meet Craig.

  • My 3 favourite Acoustic guitar players together..... all i can say really

  • 2:55

    YEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH

  • Andy McKee vs. The Three Stooges

  • HOW CAN THIS EVEN BE POSSIBLE?!!!

  • I want this on my I-pod now. Preferably with the same opening speech, and ideal accostic environment, and no people yelling or talking. Make it happen YouTube. Now.

  • Thanks for posting this!! What a great moment on stage! The intro speech was priceless!

  • OMG wait! found a better quality version:

    youtube.com/watch?v=F9ondE2j-T0&feature=related

  • I dont think it's crowded. Yes theres a lot going on, but ijust think its the poor quality. I think it would've sounded better if it had been recorded like in the video where Mckee plays "Rylynn" with Don Ross and that bass player Michael Manring. Totally agree for the guy talking in the background though.

  • close your eyes and listen... seen like in heaven.

  • I like D'Andrea's music, I like Dufour's playing, and I fuckin' love McKee's genius at the guitar - but I have to be honest and say that while this is by no stretch of the word "bad", it sounds a little crowded =/

  • bien mais le son pas térible

  • The song sounds good but the recording quality isnt that great. I like the original with just Antoine Dufour better, even though Andy Mckee & Craig D'Andrea are also awesome guitarists.

  • McKee and Dufour in the same room, both with guitars, and both playing at the same time! I expected the room to explode or 2 to be divided by zero or Chuck Norris blowing a billion gallon load in his pants or something like that!

  • Anyone else think it was really arrogant to make fun of kingkarlo9 for having an opinion?

  • ok ok i cant tell what andy or craig are doing, i bet its awesome but i cant really distinguish what theyre playing!

  • It's like the LeBron, Bosh, and Wade of guitar all teaming up. EPIC

  • yeah i'm guessing it was either the room...or lack of a sound check.idk...if you have never seen this before, please watch another video of their collaboration because this one does the wonderful song no justice

  • stop bitching about the quality of the video and go see them live...losers...pay whatever they ask for and be greatful your allowed through the door...its a priceless expierence

  • 3 damn good musicians in one room = eargasm.

  • what was up with that yell? lol.

  • i think this would sound awesome in a surround sound environment- like live or in a studio

  • Holy CRAP.

  • These guys are all great, but any time more than 2 acoustic guitars are being played, especially in these complex/odd tunings, they always seem to be out of tune with each other.

it's still a great song and great performance.

  • I bet it sounds awesome live

  • this is awesome i don't see what is too complex about it to make it a good song

  • The title should start "Dufour / D'Andrea / McKee" because that's the order they're standing in. I hate when people mis-order the names for people who don't know who they're watching. So inconsiderate.

  • Mckee is adding such a nice percussive feeling to the song.

  • the better time!!!!

  • i love this new arrangement! is it or will it be recorded for antoine's next album?

  • you just need to take it appart and reasambly the whole thing in your head, and then, it makes perfect sense as to the rol of each of them

  • def too cluttered. i think three guitars is just too much especially when each has such a high capacity of playing ability. but they each are a musical genius. craig being my fav. but not they're best for sure. there was def some good stuff in there too though. i wanna see andy play drums some time though

  • Keep in mind the quality is crap - the one at the radio station is better, but still not good enough tbh

  • @pissoff456 agreed, making 3 acoustics sound good together in a jam is damn near impossible, and theres just too much going on at one time to truly appreciate it for what it is

  • @pissoff456 If you concentrate and work out all the patterns going on here you will have a great appreciation. But ya 3 acoustics is too complex doesn't come out right, and the audio quality is bad.

  • the guys talking in the background need to SHUT UP!! Probably the same idiots that sit behind me in movies. I like the solo version better. Still a whooooole lot of talent there for sure.

  • it does sound a bit cluttered

  • Who the heck is that yelling at 3:05?

  • engand all the way we are the best !!!!!!!!!!! Andy mckee is a legend

  • Dude! Canada can now claim the throne of ACOUSTIC GUITARISTS. They are simply on another level in playing ability and diversity compared to the rest of the world.

Also, it does seem that someone is out of tune again. And there is so much timing stuff going on here, it is super hard for them all to sync up, it does not flatter the arrangement. I think I would almost prefer any single one of the played parts over this trio.

  • While I will agree they are on another level, Dufour is the only one that is Canadian. Craig is from Connecticut and Andy is from Kansas

  • music isn't a competition, there are plenty amazing acoustic guitarrists and otherwise from everywhere

  • Sounds like the love of God.

Only, I don't believe in God.

But I think God would have to be at least this beautiful to be legit lol.

    I'm stoked.

  • Antoine is funny as hell, hahaha. So is Andy.

  • hells not funny

  • Well, on a mono mix on youtube, it can sound messy, but well mixed in studio, that could be totally different.

    Antoine Dufour

  • i feels like andrea too much ,only a duet of mckee and dufour would do the job . its like oversounding.

  • lol someone need to teach craig how to tune his guitar

  • GO Andy McKee!

Yes, I know they are ALL awesome but I just prefer Andy more.

  • I'm sorry, what?

  • all respect, but i strongly disagree with you, kingcarlo9

  • Consider that this has been recorded by a tiny microphone from a camera far away from the guitars, so it's not in stereo. Also, this was uploaded to youtube after, so the sound quality was diminished further. A proper recording would put this one to shame.

  • @kingcarlo9 why don't you just commit suicide ?

  • @kingcarlo9 ignorant shit...

  • rawr Dufour! my boy!

  • I want to beet the shit out of the fuck who was talking!

  • @creativekiddo beet the shit?

  • @ledzeppelin7510

beat them with beets, i do it all the time...

  • @creativekiddo

you want to throw funny coloured veg at them until the excrete feces? strange....

  • @moekanz Almost had a cool insult there, except it's faeces* :S

  • masters of their craft. very inspiring to watch every guitar used to its full potential.

  • a bit too much goin on...

  • man these guys are freaking cool but the sound recording sounds a little crappy though i would love to be able to hear them clearly... :(

  • I think that because it's not recorded directly from the sound board, the camera doesn't pick it up so well. That's a possibility :D

  • I was there that night - I'm going to be honest and say that this arrangement was not very good...

A couple reasons why: First, their guitars are not tuned exactly the same, one of them is out of tune and you can hear it...

Second, there's just too much going on - 3 guitars is too much for this song, 2 may have worked better.

Anyway, just my opinion - These guys are still amazing - Just not a fan of this arrangement.

  • agreed, There is way too much going on,

It's too tough to keep up.

  • accent

  • and what mistake did Antoine while introducing?(when saying "sorry,a HIDING place for the moon")

  • Inhaled "h", as is very hard to do when a french-speaker learns -and speaks in- english. ^^

  • what an idiot who screames at 2.58...

  • lol ok? the guy is enjoying the music! he'll scream wit joy for it lol

  • THAT loud? Unneeded.

  • Nah... come on bud lol everyone's different ya know? :)

  • And some people are just special.

    *speshulface*

  • Great

  • i was at this show!!!!!!! it was the best fucking show ive ever been to and probably ever will see unless i go to more candyrat shows.

  • yo try adding &fmt=18 to get better sound quality makes a difference when listening to this song

  • I'm not one to question their intents with the collaborated song, but maybe they where aiming for the erratic sound, it sounds too intentionally orchestrated for them to be off sync with one another

  • Nicely played! But the video is way to shaky to watch without getting motion sickness.. like omg! USE A TRIPOD OR START EATING YOUR PARKINSONS MEDS!!

  • sorry, not funny, bad joke, walk away right now

  • lol@meds

  • To be fair, this was very zoomed in, so the slightest camera movement is highly exaggerated.

  • not my favourite,i think they are all awsome musicians in their own right but in this piece there is way to much going on,it just doesn't feel coheasive, could have alot to do with the medium in which it was recordedim thinking.

  • yeah, it sounds like the recording probably doesn't capture what it sounds like in live.. a studio version of this would probably sound much better, with some decent mixing

  • this type of solo-guitar isn't meant for this many notes... just too many notes... it sounds good when they play it at later shows though

  • Well, it WAS their first time playing it on tour :)

  • I'm having a tough time with this piece... when I saw the song name with McKee involved I just about lost it in pleasure, but the result isn't quite what I was hoping. I noticed the same thing with the Ross/McKee collaborations. It just doesn't sound "locked in" to eachother rhythmically and it all gets lost in too many sounds.

  • Don't get me wrong, they're all fantastic musicians. And I can hear the rhythm and harmonies they were trying to weave. It's just when you have monster level players all on the same stage you need a degree of restraint, and they practically have to breathe together to be locked in.

  • hmmmm??? OK... lol

  • What's with people like you???

  • ich war eigentlich da, echt kuhl man

  • ich war eigentlich da, echt kuhl man

  • Has Craig d@Andrea located his nearest pie shop? He's put on the beef.

  • This is fantastic. They all get along so well.

  • why is there a guy talking in the background all through the start? Who would be talking at something as epic as THAT?

  • there are parts which it sounds nice.. but the other.. just sounds like unsynchronized..

didnt like this, only the idea of them playing together..

  • Man i'll give you a thumbs up for that - its a pretty clean song for me but the three of them make it a bit to busy! perhaps another song might have been a better choice although it does definitely get better with each listen!

    : )

  • you are soo lucky if you have seen this concert... who living in europe dosen't have opportunities to see live performances... that is soo sad =(

  • there s one guitar disacorded between the 3 guitars...ffff

  • When were they in Philly?

  • 2/10/2008

  • OH MY GOD!! I WAS THERE FOR THIS!! THIS WAS IN PITTSBURGH! it was sooooo amazing

  • crap i mean philadelphia. not pittsburgh

  • We were the lucky first ones to hear it :)

  • yah, that night was ridiculous.

  • studio version must be breathtaking! :P

  • how come they didnt play this in boston??!?!

    WHY OH WHY!!!

  • Got to see these 3 and this song played by all 3 last night, amazing experience.

  • great show but the the quality is very bad

  • wow, my three favorite guitarists all performing together. wish i could've been there.

  • great players, all...what feel...but do they sound a tad bit outta tune to anyone else?

  • no, their guitars are in alternate tunings....

  • Yes! One of them is slightly out of tune.

  • Indeed, I'm pretty sure they are all playing in DAC#G#AE--which IS an alternate tuning. However, it does sound like one of somebody's strings is slightly out--at least on the opening riff.
