  • Such a genius guitarist. I was fortunate enough to have played for him with my ensemble. He knows exactly how to make a guitar sound as incredible as possible. Fantastic.

  • wow that looks really hard

  • I would love to have the PEPE ROMERO treatment for all three movements of the ARANJUEZ. This most popular Concerto is magical in the hands of PEPE and the great PACO de LUCIA. It would great to have Paco record his comments on all three movements.Getting back to this all too short glimpse into the mastery of PEPE ROMERO,the points he made were so illuminating! I will be attending 3 days of masterclasses with Pepe starting tomorrow and just wanted to whet my pallete with this. Thanks- Don Witter

  • The girl studying Concierto de Aranjuez (Allegro Con Spirito) by Joaquin Rodrigo...

  • This is a very interesting masterclass ... not only because Pepe Romero is a fabulous guitarist, but also because he understands the flamenco language. What do we have at the beginning of the concierto of Aranjuez ? A perfect rythm (or compas) "por buleria" ... And it's amazing how the concierto is different when it's understood like that. To me, Paco de Lucia's version is the closest of what Rodrigo wrote and wanted. Obviously, Romero's version is fantastic ...

  • the sound he got out of the guitar is amazing

  • Pepe rocks!

  • "but Segovia had an incredible sound but very very dirty"

Most people don't understand how great Segovia is.

It's not only about the tones.it's about the colors.

No decent guitarist would mock Segovia. He's the reason you have a guitar of that form in your hand today.

Pepe is an Excellent guitarist! But he is in my opinion too in love with Flamenco which gives him a very spanish form of playing in whatever he plays.

Segovia surpassed culture. listen to him play Chaconne. He surpasses culture.

  • @YadQurbany Segovia was kind of a dick, in that he thought all classical guitarist should file the nails in one shape, play with only one style and play each song with the exact same emotions and dynamics each and every time. Makes classical guitar sound like a prison. Pepe expresses true love for the instrument.

  • poor girl

  • Amazing how the guitar immediately sounds so different in Mr. Romero's hands...!!

  • @poupee58 Who are u to say Pepe Romero is a showoff? I entered your channel to see if you have a video of you playing, but you have nothing, maybe 'cuase your nothing in the world of guitar, so please stop spitting shit.

  • SHOWOFF

  • wow

  • hAhahha I get this feeling pepe gets frustrated and was like "GUARHGHG LET ME PLAY!!!"

    xD

  • And to Poupee, just because you don't understand Spanish doesn't mean you should hate on him.

  • He gets some BEAUTIFUL sounds out of that guitar.. Very powerful... He said "Muy Bien!" Jesus... I'd never hear him say that to me.. And who's that pretty girl playing so excellently?

  • Excelente!

    André Luiz Bernardes

  • who the hell is poupee? And why is he so bitter?

  • @ivanhale pepe probably tore him a new one at a masterclass and he's taking it personally

  • @djsewell too right ! he's a total wanker

  • Pepe is no master.

  • @poupee58 you really are a complete idiot aren't you?

  • @poupee58 you really are a complete idiot aren't you?

  • @poupee58 you really are a complete idiot aren't you?

  • @poupee58 you don't understand anything about guitar, sorry, but Segovia had an incredible sound but very very dirty, in any case talk about Pepe like a Charlatan is very very stupid. I would like to listen to you play guitar and then I'm sure I will laugh for days, Pepe is a very interesting guitar player and his version of aranjuez is very good, please listen to guitar with hearth not with your stupidity

  • Just one problem with this masterclass ,Pepe Romero is hardly a master.Just a showman with his cheap circus tricks .

  • Masterclass ?? But Pepe Romero is not a master .(just a flashy showman)

  • Great Post! If you have the adagio; we would love the 2nd movement posted.

  • He's teaching her "Concierto de Aranjuez 1st Movment" :)

It's hard piece... I can play 2nd movement only...

  • how old is she?

  • can someone tell me....what's the name of the song...please??

  • Pepe is almost the only one who can blend classical guitar and flamenco guitar very well. He is an master on both style!!

  • i wouldn't be nervous or anything...nope, not at all.

  • Awesome! thx

  • I love that guitar!!!

    Who is the lthier???

  • This girl is awesome, for as young as she looks anyway.... I've only been playing for about 8 yrs now and we all play a piece without heart at first.

  • Too bad, this song needs some flamenco skill, but the girl knows nothing about rasg.

  • The one and only.

But look at her, oh dear god.

  • he amazing!!!

  • y cant he just take another guitar n show how to play ? n his student is just using one finger he's suppose to use all n rest the thumb on the E string

  • A trip to southern Spain in the summer might help give a feel for the intensity of the guitar playinng.

  • interesting...have you experienced this for yourself? Tell me more...

  • Concerto the Aranjuez is like the Spanish National Anthem and it's a very passionate piece, so to get the passion you have to find it there. The summer heat will get the politeness/fearful playing out and some teeth and claws into it. Lots of flamenco dancing and the real soul of real flamenco are there, not in the studio.

  • where can i find the tabs or music sheet for this piece??

  • tabscout

  • If you dont know how to play to piece well you shouldve chosen another piece for this mastercalss youre driving me crazy!!!

  • last time i checked the point of entering a masterclass was to get vigorous feedback from a prominant instructor. this isn't a concert for you so shut up.

  • The teacher can decide to turn down anyone. Since he chose to accept, I think his decision is based on more than what you see in this short segment.

  • the girl does not play with feeling.... way too softly

  • "playing with feel"

    gag me please

  • I can't tell if she is taking her lessons in Spain, but it's easier to pick up the feeling to play this because the Concerto de Aranjuez is virtually the National Anthem. It's a very passionate piece while the teaching studio is a very sterile environment.

  • Concierto de aranjuez... Joaquin Rodrigo

  • por dios esto es un oro gravado

    un maestro asi no manches

  • wat piece is this????

  • Pepe is one of the best guitarists in thw world!!!

  • She is a good guiarist. but not after listening the sound that pepe have.

  • he seems kinda bored, hehe

  • Wow what a pressure to play in front of Pepe

  • it's an honor.. pepe romero is really a good teacher

  • that girl is beatiful

  • I wish I could afford to pay Pepe Romero to come teach me how to not suck.. haha.. there is no amount of time on this world to get me to that level.. oh how I can dream.

    아름다운 소녀 에의한 아름다운 놀기

  • Actually you'd be surprised how fast somebody like Pepe can make you a badass. My teacher studied with Pepe, and says that a true master can show you all the short cuts to the path of playing well.

  • To have Pepe Romero sit down and teach you anything... you would have to be nothing short of a master already. Well, unless someone just has pleanty of money. But there are too many people to teach you below the masterful level to really require this kind of technique tweaking for a lower level player. I really wish I could find out the hourly cost of a lesson like this. Of course I doubt anytime soon I could afford it, simply curiosity asks the question.

  • or you could bump into pepe and seduce him into taking you as a protoge with your drive and enthusiasm.

  • HAH! Yeah... I'll just keep on with the lottery, so I can pay him. I like the odds better with the one in 60 million odds with the lottery better

  • LOL seduce pepe

  • it's so easy to say that but it's simply not true. It varies from person to person, esp. of how much they're willing to practice. Like for instance, this girl took stuff in really slowly it seemed.

  • True, but if a student does what the teacher says and works hard, he can get very good in a short amount of time. I went from never playing classical before, to playing an entire bach suite and pieces like Capricho Arabe and Torroba's Suite Castellana all decently well in 4 years.

  • Wow, what an honor to be taught by the maestro.

  • i would love to have a personal class like that!!

  • I guess a lot of people disagree with you poupee.

Pepe has had a long successful career. But I guess you know better? With such an over the top review I would love to see how well you play it. At least Pepe has not resorted to playing a lot of crap like a lot of Classical players do with Pop and fake Jazz. Aranjuez IS inspired by Flameco...most Modern Spanish Classical music is. Pepe also plays Flamenco style; almost no Classical players can do; way beyond an average player of guitar, I'd say.

  • If you honestly believe Pepe has no comprehension of this music, then you're uninformed. He specifically studied with Joaquin Rodrigo before his death about this piece. If you don't believe me, check out the documentary about it, "Concierto de Aranjuez." It is on a CD/DVD package called "The Rodrigo Collection," it contains that movie mentioned above and another documentary specifically on Joaquin Rodrigo, called "Shadows and Light." Educate yourself before making yourself a fool online. ;)

  • Haha Pepe Romero is the absolute worst person to say doesn't understand this concerto.

  • poupee58;

And we see that your ONLY fav video features a flutist who can barely play his instrument.

  • Thanks for sharing!

  • Both, incredibly talented players. She has an incredible future. Koreans are outstanding in music and language.

Interesting to see as in all artforms, it transcends language. She understsood very well his instruction..one artist to another..yet if attempting to instruct someone of less ability or musicianship, they would not get it at all..

    Many thanks for posting this.

  • Thank you, gracias, komapsumnida, mahalo, arigato, grazie...

    ...THANK YOU!!!

  • 100000 gracias por colgar este video.

    Verdaderamente me instruye e inspita.

  • I want him as a teacher too :'( + love the songs

  • wow...what a great teacher and pupil!!! pepe had such great ideas to improve the piece immediately...and she picked it all up on the spot. great clip!!!

  • haha nvm .. haha i read it then .. saw it in the post lol .. thanks mertzman0

  • does anyone know the music they are playing .. thanks :)

  • Concierto de Aranjuez

  • like it very much

  • You've never had a lesson with someone where you cannot speak the same language, have you? It's a huge challenge.

And also, how could she be playing the 1st movement from the Concierto de Aranjuez if she hadn't been playing a long time?

    You're quite ignorant.

  • you see, in order to play el concierto de aranjuez, you have to have plenty of skill, even if it was to be played in an unclean, unclear manner it requires allot of dexterity in the hands. not to mention an impeccable rhythm.

  • And is that YOU playing Lagrima badly at your site?

Now I understand; you are jealous of this girl who plays way better than you.

So what if she does not speak Spanish? She sure does learn fast how to play Spanish.

  • hmmmmm Rexicano, you don't understand what i'm trying to say. How can you say that i'm playing lagrima badly by that it tree months since i;ve been playing guitar, i was playing a piece that was at my level of playing. In the classical guitar repetoire theri are some pieces that people should not even bother playing if they are not at certain level. Me jealous of no i don't think so, she was breave of taking a master class with pepe, but she is wasting Pepe's time

  • plus what i was trying to say is that the master class would of gone a lot easier if she knew either English or Spanish, because obviously what pepe is trying to say the translator is doing a bad job,

  • I think I'll just let Pepe be the judge of whether she was wasting his time. She looks to me to be beyond your skill level...Aranjuez is many levels above the pieces you play so you might want to show us YOUR Rodrigo pieces before you blow more hot air. She's going to be playing this with an orchestra before too long and you will be still playing Lagrima.

  • Oh and beautiful playing by you. You held your own with the master :)

  • Thanks for posting this. More of the same please :)
