  • putting the chics on the bike, yeah man!

  • @84Snipe .com

  • @84Snipe also you can buy some sport handlebars, go to motospecialties

  • @WTFmuffinman ya ur Probly too small at this point. You can't even ride till ur 15 1/2 so dnt worry too much. If you have ridden dirt bikes regularly This should be a good first bike in a couple years. If this would be your first, you mite want to look into a 250

  • @thegameturtle yea i riden dirt bikes before and other type of motor bike but i live in ct so i have to wait until im 16 years old it about 1 1/2 years

  • And im 14

  • Right now im 5"2 weight 90 pound i want to get the 650r i dont if i would fit on the bike if im to small or something can someone tell me

  • what are the headlights like for night ridding?

  • @chrisabrahamsson I use mine in the dark round my local lanes and they be fine, not the best but no complaints

  • @Thunderous71 ok cool thank you, im getting an 06 version tommorow or wednesday and i havent been able to find anyone who could tell me, and i know the headlights are different but they should not be that big a difference as its the same bulbs (i think)

  • what about a guy who is say 6'5 would they be able to fit?

  • @CannonMan93

I would head over to your closest bike shop that have these in stock.

  • Would this bike be small or easy enoght to have a 14 year old to ride it? if hes 5'9"?

  • @spacetrooperman

Ya in about 2 years lol.

I am 5' 11" and have leg length to spare. The bigger issue in my mind is the weight of the bike. Sport bikes are TOP heavy unlike a cruiser style bike. I would say if they can handle picking the bike up right from laying on its side then they should be fine. You could have them sit on the bike with a person on each side and let them lean the bike over side to side and see if they feel confident in the ability to hold it.

  • I have the same bike in blue and my mirrors don't vibrate at all at any speed... They are perfectly clear. The 650 having a larger rise in the handlebars is actually a major feature of the ergonomics of this bike. It's intended to have an upright seating position. If you've ever ridden for more than 30 minutes on a 600 supersport you will have a sore back and numb ass... I much prefer the 650 ergonomics myself after a season on a CBR

  • @chappejw

Ya its all a personal preference. I feel the seat is a bit on the thin side for 4 hour long rides.

  • @84Snipe put 250R mirrors on it, solves vibration problem and you can still see pretty decently, just an option...

  • you do realize they sell aftermarket sport bars for this bike right? it would lower it like a zx6r .. the 650r that i want to pick up has the sport bars on there

  • @Xtremedriver24

Yes i know they sell other handle bars. I plan on getting new ones next month. Its just starting to warm up here.

  • When I first saw a 650r I was actually surprised that they're kinda stubby.. I think it and the 250r are nearly identical in length and seat height.

  • good review but 1/2 of it was about the eliminator kit which was aftermarket id like to hear more about the bike next time

  • i have a 250 ninja and my mirrors get winded....so im completely blind.....how do i tighten them? so they are stable.....anyone out there.

  • Excellent review. I have the same bike and I agree with you on everything, including what you said about the targa tail kit(which I have). Some things I have issues with is the exhaust and the handle bars. The handle bars made my wrist hurt but the aftermaker sport bars fixed that problem. The exhaust sounds pretty bad at idle but anything above 5k rpm, it's not bad.

Also the mirrors on mine were crap too but I plan on getting handle bar mirrors like the CRG.

  • for that mirror thing i saw somewhere on here if you put the mirrors from the 250r on they wont vibrate, might be worth looking into !

  • my right mirror is fine. but gah the left mirror u cant c a dang thing i just hit 1300 on my 09 650r and luv everything other than that..

  • I have the same bike/same year, just hit 600 miles on it. It's my first bike ever and I love it (I learned on a 250 at the MSF course). I pretty much agree with your review, except my mirrors don't vibrate bad at all. I'm getting about 45mpg on my commute through town to work, over 50mpg on the highway.

  • my mirrors dont shake/vibrate. i dunno either that or i havent noticed it

  • im looking to get one of these bikes one thing i dont like is im hearing about the mirrors shaking are there aftermarket mirrors u can get that wont shake as much?

  • great video man! really helpful

  • I have the same bike, but in green. What eliminator kit did you use and was it an esy install?

  • @SRR229

I bought my kit from Ninja 650 shop com. " Targa Tail Kit for 09-10 Ninja 650 and ER6N " is the one i used.

ITs easy and comes with ok instructions. it took about 30 minutes to install with no trouble ill try to get a little vid of it up soon

  • im trying to figure out how you only get 45 mpg, i get about 55 and im defintly not babying it...

  • i will check it again as i could be wrong on my math. Cant wait for the 60+ temps to get here.

  • ya me nieither! just bought the sport handlebars for the bike to, hopefully give it a little sportier feel

  • @lmsdkc - i checked it twice now same pump at the same station.. 46.2 mpg... my trip to school is about 25 minutes of 60+ mph one way.. i cant say what the average speed is in that 25 minutes hehe.

  • @lmsdkc youre prolly lighter

  • Your passengers will like the grab handles on the back. I put them on mine. However.....KINDA PRICEY. I think the bike looks better with wheel stripes. I put them on mine and also inlayed the wheel spokes with the same tape. Check it out if you want. The bike looks good in red. Enjoy

  • such a nice bike and what a price.... 650cc!!

the honda cbr 125 that must be a joke, why buy a bike to go like a scooter?

  • Are you saying I drive it like a scooter or that you can't make a sentence that makes any sense?

  • huh?

i say the hondacbr is a scooter

  • @84Snipe lol shot down

  • @84Snipe He's trying to say that a 125cc is a waste of money and he likes your 650cc.

  • nice vid man!! you think this is too much power for a noob that has only ridden dirt bikes like 3 times in his life time (im 18)

  • Yes I do think its to much power for some one who has not had a lot of riding exp.

A 250cc would be a good first street bike. They may have less power but i have not even come close to using 50% of the power the 650 has..
