  • NEED NEW QFG STYLE GAME!! BEST RPG ENGINE EVER :DDDD

  • There's something about VGA graphics to me, very beautiful

  • I think they should remake all the sierra games, and make them into HD and have them available to download like on STEAM or XBOX LIVE. Do it like how they remade MONKEY ISLAND.

  • With the Kings Quest games on GOG.com, there's hope for the other Sierra games going on there. So I would suggest you check out the site regularly.

  • bullshit

    ........

  • Stunning 256 color VGA. Wow.

What a sweet game! The story was so fun. I wish someone would make a modern version with an equally impressive story line.

  • "Stunning 256 color VGA"... back then it was like "WOOW!" now its just a joke.

  • this is a ver fun and beautiful game. They don't make games like this anymore.

  • @Thill029 Yea! Activision Blizzard Should Go To Hell For Killing Sierra Entertainment! But Then Again What Can You Do Anyways! Its Not Like We Can Make A Riot Rebellion On Activision Blizzard. Sierra, Then Dynamix, WHAT ELSE? ID SOFTWARE? Raven Software? ahh [Shuts Up] Never mind. [In A Pissed Off Tone]

  • I got past the gate, got rid of of the brigands (nyuk nyuk). Got past Yorick's maze, now I don't know what to do about Elsa. I try to splash the dispell potion on her, and she keeps killing me. What do I do?

  • @wolf359x Splash the dispel potion on her. XD

  • i never could beat it. once i got past the minotaur and then into the barracks i couldnt figure out how to stop the brigands from coming in and raping me repeatedly

  • I need some help. I am playing a fighter. After killing the minotaur, how do I get past the gate?

  • I really liked this game. I never played the old version so this was my first Quest for Glory game.

  • I think I was 10 when the VGA version came out. I couldn't run it on my Tandy so we had to get a new computer - a 486 clone. The guy who built it installed the game with it, and when he ran it at his lab, I almost shit in my pants when seeing it animated for the first time.

  • this game is by far one of the best games ive ever played in my life..im 20 now and man do i still enjoy playing em especially Kings Quest VI. My favorite one is Shadows Of Darkness and Magic User is the best xD

  • Always a thief! I loved breaking into everytyhing i could an stealing crap. Awesome memories.

  • Can anyone help me get a copy of this game either the old one or the VGA remake. I tried E-bay but they only had it a long time ago and I had forgot to bid so I missed it Thanks

  • Since these games are so old, they are considered "Abandonware", and you can find plenty of sites where you can download for free. Just do a google search for "download Quest for Glory 1" and you'll find it. You'll need DOS Box to run it on a newer computer (which you can also download for free). I just recently downloaded the first 4 games in the series and had fun re-playing them all for the first time in years.

  • I downloaded the first three, but I cant find the fourth one. Could you tell me where I can download from. Thanks.

  • I just googled "Quest for Glory 4 download" and found a bunch of sites that have it.

  • I have the collectors edition lucky me!

  • is it just me or the final release didn't have these graphics? the ghosts looked completely different for example

  • This is the 2nd version. The upgraded VGA version. (IT WAS THE SH!TNETS OF OUR TIME.) LOVE THIS GAME SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH.!!!!!

  • hahaha ...stunning VGA graphics! :). dude, that is classic. I loved this series growing up as well. it influenced me in a lot of ways...too bad the games these days are more hack 'n slash :(

  • hahaha holy shit. this game started by border line nerdness. i cant believe i found this. this game was the shit

  • I grew up playing this! No other adventure game had me so much like this! This has a spirit no other game has and it's a shame that Dragon Fire was the last of the series :(

  • call me crazy but i still love the old original graphics more

  • Never could get a prefect score on that game... and now my copy is broken

  • xD its so cool and imprssiv to see how much the grafic change during the last years :D

  • The entire series... but Mostly this game took about 50-60 percent of my Childhood, and I'm almost 18 and I still have an old Windows 95 that I use to play it.

  • This game is classic. I used to pretend that I was sick so I could stay home from school just to play this game!!

  • do you need the info imprinted in the documents to complete the game for real? what ones do i need?

  • As far as I can remember, the only game with copy-protection in the manual is QG4

  • And you can just download the manual to solve that. ; )

  • Simply put, they don't make games like this anymore. Sure, great games still come out. But every time I pick up a gaming magazine and every game review/preview is a 3D game, and I get a bit depressed. This, coming from a DOOM fan.

  • this is the remake version. I never played it. Just better graphics right?

  • Dang! This came out a year after I was born lmfao.

  • I'll always prefer the EGA version where you have to figure out for yourself what to type while taking to people. It was much fun saying: "ask about "bad word here" and getting a funny response back. It felt like better role playing.

  • hah yeah. ^_^. I enjoyed in 2 anytime you wanted to cheat you had to type suck blue frog. lol. Seriously what other game comes up with stupid things like that ^_^.

  • I remember playing this back in 98 with my buddies in College, and this by far is what made Sierra games the best. The whole series up to the very end were the best you could come by. I'm very happy that someone has bought it to the public's attention that the GOLDEN ERA of gaming has came before.

  • Ah...This brings back memories...I remember my dad bought me this game when it first came out...It was amazing...It still is amazing!!

  • I LOVE THAT GAME! Sorry, I had to use caps locks to express it.

  • no no no do what you must. I understand how you're feeling and how wonderful this game has been to many of us fans. I'm truly sad that lori and corey cole have both stopped producing these fantastic works.

  • awsome.....coming soon in 1992

  • lol someone's synth tables are messed up :P happens to me all the time with sb pci128

  • Yeah. I recorded this using a Roland MT-32 Emulator. It has some problems with the earlier VGA games like QFG 1, Larry 5, Space Quest 4, but sounds phenomenal on the EGA/SCI games and the later VGA titles like QFG 4 and SQ5.

  • I wish the game allowed the players to customize the character the way the player wanted. Example, can make a mage/theif that uses a short sword and cast magic.

  • Well in QFG 1 EGA, you could cheat to get a sword and use it (there was an animation for using only the sword and not the shield) and even in QFG 2, you could use the same cheat to obtain a sword and use it over the dagger. In QFG 3 and 4, that was where it was impossible... until QFG 5 with it's excesses of weapons and equipment, there you could equip yourself with anything.

  • @fymious

you could. At character creation use a thief as your base and just click on magic initially and place your first batch of points into it. (dont remember how many it took). Note though, that your spells known were very limited in QFG1 simply because no characters actually acknowledged you as a magic user.

However, I did the same thing with QFG5 when it came around. Large stack of daggers + zap spell = Dead Dragon.

  • I love this game. I'm a big fan of Mark Sieberts music also. He's great.

  • By the way, that witch in the magic shop in Spielburg has expert cleavage. Funny that I realize that now...it never occurred to me at the time.

  • You are absolutely right XenonExplosion, this game was a work of art. Some of my fondest gaming memories come from this game.

  • i remember this!!!

  • This game ruled

  • I wish they would just remake the entire freakin series and throw it out there on the shelf. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

  • Every modern RPG is based on rhis.

  • Magic user play through please, blessings

  • AGDI is remaking this game flipdrumkip. They are taking their sweet time too.

  • Actually, they're remaking the 2nd one, since QFG1 is already "VGA-ified"

  • The quest for glory games are in a league of their own. Qfg5 lost the 'feel' a little with the improved graphics but was still good. Best adventure series I've ever played

  • memories..... why don't they re-make this game!!

  • These days, VU Games owns the rights to all of the Sierra titles. Maybe you could drop them a friendly note suggesting a QFG-Like game for today's platforms?

  • @flipdrumkip it would be crap. they dont make them like this anymore.

  • @flipdrumkip actually this one is a remake, lol... old classics die hard :D

  • Amazing!! I remember being in 2nd grade (in 1992) playing this game, we got it as a present for xmas. Thanks for this... nostalgia kicks butt@!!!
