  • cool play.. woot..

  • What a nice game.

  • A perfect pitch.

  • FYI: Trevor bauer found his current delivery watching lincecum. Not this video, but watching him play once.

  • the best pitcher out of UW.

  • LOOK UP PERRINE BASEBALL ADRIEN#24

  • Tiimmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmer!

  • why did we ever pass Timmy up for Brandon Morrow?

  • the mariners need to be really bad the next two years so we can get Bryce Harper :D

  • bryce harper really aint that good they put him up with a minr league ptcher and he striked out lol but he does have alot of power

  • @trakilla2000 thats one at bat, in spring training this year he hit like 380

  • @iShockerBBC hha dude, mariners are gonna rape this year.

  • I go2 U DUB now and kids there who met him say he was a god at Washington.

  • wow i love living in seattle every good baseball player goes there. Ken griffey jr timmy and ichiro i would count a rod if he didnt use roids

  • :23 great pitch dont let him bunt on you

  • Check out his stride at the 32 seconds of the video, that's why he throws so damn hard. His flexbility and stride is off the charts. I'm a fan of Lincecum, he is a freak.

  • forward momentum at the lift can increase the stride bigtime. He keepts his upper body stored over his back hip n gets out over that from leg. The result upper 90's Simply Extraordinary

  • i just can't beleive how long of a stride he has when going to the plate

  • It's actually not to far, it's what happens when you are athletic and have good leverage through the feet to finger tips.

In major leagues it's about 7 feet consistently. Not hard to do when you generate leverage like he does.

  • he is still an amazing pitcher

needs to find a team other than the Giants though lol

  • Actually I was reading about him in Sports Illustrated and it said his stride off of the mound is 10ft. That's 1 1/2 times his own height

  • yea I was gonna say for how tall he is that is far as fuck, most pitching coaches will tell you to not over stride because you loose some of the force generated after your original drive down the mound, your front foot is the hammer on a gun, you drive down the hill and when your front foot hits you explode your hips shoulders arm and back leg forward.

  • Yeah. It said in SI that he should be off balance and that he could really hurt his knee. But, what saves him is quite simple. He actually jumps off of the rubber. If you watch closely you can see that his back foot is off the rubber before his stride foot is down.

  • He's my favorite player and he plays for my team. Did you notice how he kind of shrank in the moment in the All-Star game? Too young for the big market teams. He should pitch at least 4 more years in relatively low-key San Francisco, solidify his place as the new Johan Santana, get hungry for a ring, then let the Yankees or Red Sox give him more money than God.

  • @leeknows1 lol ... he's got the ring now!!! WOOHOO!!! :)

  • well i read that its about 140% or something of his height so thats pretty far for him

  • I'd answer that yes muscle strenght does produce a big part of this effort, but the key to stride it long is:

    Flexibility and timing.

When you're able to perform a split, it's obvious your movement amplitude is greater.

Also, notice how his body always kind of "kick" at given moments. You have to be used to see him to notice or have a great eye. It shows that he uses a rythmic pattern and it involves different body phases to perform, even for a single movement.

  • my favorite pitcher.

  • yeah you can teach and shit but some people are naturally gifted

  • A pecfect example of how to use your body to keep your arm injury free.

    I love his mechanics.

  • he would have gotten hurt years ago, hes STILL pitching strong today and he'll be doing so for years and years and years to come!

  • Guys, he won't ruin his arm. His dad trained him ever since he was a little kid (when he was in little league and shit). So he has been doing this a long time.

  • no, they all have the same elbow motion. look at it. they all have their forarms/hand below the elbow when they break the hands. then pop it up into a throwing position. and he curls his wrist back as he breaks his hands. puts more stress on the ucl

  • Go look at high speed films they all have different arm actions.

  • i try that when i throw, and it helps me get angle on the ball and just a little but more velocity... but ultimately it helps my change up... its my best pitch

  • LMAO then you don't understand how he uses his body to throw with his arm along for the ride.

He uses Leverage and his full body and is super strong and flexible and as long as he keeps his core strength and hinges loose he will be able to pitch a long time.

  • i agree with jay

him and his dad have you used these mechanics

    since middle school

now he is throwin in the triple digits

  • all the people you listed have different arm actions.

Lincecum will not get hurt. He's proven everyone wrong since a little kid when they said he will get hurt.

He doesn't even get sore so how can you say he is going to deff get hurt.

  • heck, he dont even got too ice his arm.

all props go to the guy, just dont screw up the fact that you are sport king of bay, dont be like jeff kent or baron davis

  • hahaha, keep thinking that, you fool!

  • Its like hes throwing wiffle ball pitches, so freakin nasty that lincecum.

  • Looks like he's got a bit of a jerking motion when he brings his arm back. One hell of a pitcher, thats for sure. Too Bad his hometown team didn't have the balls to draft him.

  • he uses some load up thing to throw that fast

  • What he does it a complex set of movements that utilize everybit of leverage the body can create to throw hard.

  • Got that one right, he says that his arm is merely along for the ride. He'll be pitching for a long time and not worry about his arm blowing out.

  • No you don't have to worry about Lincecum because his dad Chris created a new way of throwing a baseball that IMO will reduce injury and increase velocity.
