  • Where did you get the tabs for this?

  • i learned this song about a month ago but i am terrible at the bar parts. im way too slow. u kill them holy

  • You did improve my friend :)

  • Great video, I just finished learning the whole song pretty well (~6 months since I've never had a guitar lesson and this is my first song I'm learning) and now I'm perfecting it, I may make a video of it soon.

  • Excellent.

  • Nylon or steel? :o

  • @GordanFreemann

You should probably study a the guitar a little longer if u can't tell what strings he's using.....They're Nylon, and most other Classical guitar-music uses Nylon-strings as well.

  • My dad really wants me to learn this song. Where did you learn it? LINKS WOULD BE COOL

  • nice cover and is it standard tuning

  • hej yoo can you tell me how much you paid for your guitar

  • @nobondy This was actually a friend's guitar which I borrowed from him. It costs around 200€. In my oldest version of Classical Gas I used a Sonora that costs around 70€.

  • @arturobc I got a nice Takamine G series, set me back 650 but was well worth it

  • @nobondy

Wonderful!! What arrangement are you playing? Where can I find the music or tabs for this version?

    Great Job!!

  • Thou hath rocked thine own socks, right offeth thine own feet.

  • This is the BEST Classical Gas cover I have seen on YouTube!

  • gr8 guitar playing btw

  • can u plz tell me where to get the tabs u used?

  • dosdos namas que te falta velocidad i equivocarte un poco menos

  • I'm learning this as my first song on the guitar, i'm about half way through the song playing it pretty well, i see you added a hammer on when the fast part starts i might try that because i always mess up a lil there... nice playing

  • my mind just melted

this and moby dick are the only two songs that have made me want to run out and buy a guitar

  • PS. This is awesome

  • bravo man bravo

  • Well done!

  • Is that an ibanez?

  • @TumisHumis It's an Alhambra 2C

  • @arturobc I got an Alhabra 1-P

  • @D3rarsch I got an alhabra 3-H

  • @arturobc i have an alhambra too. it sounds great !!

    you dont need amplifier :))

  • Well played :)

  • Bravo! a native oregonian said so!

  • dude good job!!

  • ok... dude... wtf... on the part like on the line of when on the G string where you pull off 2nd fret and hammer on 2nd fret... wtf it don't sound right... it's pissing me off...

  • i like ur first cover better but this is still awesome

  • i envy your skills of playing this song im trying to learn this right now i have two years into the guitar but im nowhere near that good

  • Much better than your first attempt.

  • Wow massive improvement over the other previous version you posted. Your cover has a lot of feeling and flow which is nice to hear with such a difficult piece.

  • guitartutoronline. com/index. php/Songs/Song-Lessons/classical-gas. html

  • awesome cover

  • great done mate!

  • AWESOME!

  • great stuff man. really... this vid makes me want to pick up a guitar again and play til my fingers bleed. keep up the great work dude.

  • hey nice job :)

This has to be the best version of the song, pure accoustic guitar playing~ there are lots of variations with drums, orchestra, or even accoustic beating(to sound like drums~) but THIS one itself holds its own magic, by itself :)

    thanks for uploading!

  • woah im currently studying this song hehe

    its kind'a difficult

    btw nice cover

  • this is just standart tuneing right?

  • keep practicing.

  • sweet ..... This is the kinda song you can play all day and just get smoother and smoother. You've obviously done that.

  • Amazing, you have a talent.

  • Simply Gifted *****

  • wow, nice cover man!

  • Hhahaha. another fool that believes a youtube video.

This song was never written/covered/played by Eric Clapton

MASON WILLIAMS Wrote/Recorded this song. he was the original.

  • Although Eric Clapton didn't make this he did cover it.

  • When, where, did Clapton cover this? I really would like to hear his version.

  • @seekohog He didn't, end of. It's just a common fallacy

  • many have covered it (Tommy Emanuel, Chet Atkens, Glen Canpbell, and others), but NEVER, EVER, EVER HAS ERIC CLAPTON COVERED THIS SONG...EVER! Not that he couldn't; he could, I'm sure. He just HASN'T

  • @pamirs94

total ownage, have you ever heard about a guy called mason williams? huh?

  • @CoocaColaa is this supposed to be against me or supporting me?

  • both attempts are good but this one sounds better than the first one

    keep it up

  • you make it look so easy

  • dude literally one of the best i've seen on youtube!

  • I really love the way you play this man. I can't exactly replicate your fingering and it's really pissing me off. Cheers.

  • this was brilliant ! amazing cover mate

  • you have some serious skill!

  • excellent ,just a little more depth

  • just like gp

  • I don't mean to be a dick...and i know it's a "cover"....so it's supposed to be your take....bu the hammerons are....misplaced....you are technically proficient though....you should have no problems playing it exactly like Williams if you so wish.

  • That extra hammer on throws it off imo,

  • cool played dude, may i ask where u got the tabs from?

  • hey, that's great, have you got tabs for this version? sounds like original...

  • hey man, this is incredible....mad props to you. Take care-

    WFangnxd117

  • If you did learn this in only 3 Months, thumb up for you !! You must play the guitar a lot and for a couple of years. Or are you just a natural talent ?

  • WOW bro' one of the cleanest version of this great song on youtube....thnx for posting this 4.5 Stars. I'll have to check out your 1st version but maybe in the 3rd version u can breathe hard like Clapton does during the break ha ha

  • ..to bad clapton didnt even do a cover of this song you ass....

  • too much better!!! congratulations!!! C=

  • wikid job mate :) check mine tell me what u think

  • dude im learning this atm, any tips i would be grateful and how long did it take you to learn? cheers and you own

  • I took about 3 months to learn this song, and then a few months to get it more perfect. But in your case, it will depend on your ability to play the guitar. the more you have, the less time you'll take to learn this song

  • Comment removed

  • @arturobc what? I learned it on a week while I was playing around half a year.

  • I enjoyed this very much, great job:)!

    All the best,

    Dani

  • awesome man.....i'm back in the 60's.....

  • Maybe it's just me, but I don't like it. I LOVE it! Great guitar work. Very nicely done.

  • Bravo, this version was MUCH better. Well done.

  • Dude your really good, i dont know how u make some of those chord changes, its all way to fast for me. Is this clapton or williams version of the tune? Im sure youve seen it already but check out Tommy Emmanuel's version its unreal

  • its not actually such a hard song to play, there are some fast chord changes to some rather awkward chords, but once you get that down, and the finger-picking rhythm, its quite an easy song. it only took me about 2 weeks to be good at playing it, and now, 6 months later (and not 6 months just practicing this) its real easy. and yes, tommy is a living legend. ps, im only 14. one of the real hard ones to play is the beatles medley, mostly the end of lady Madonna, when u get to the runs there!!

    Jr

  • What sometimes helps me when i get caught on a tough chord or messy change up is plan how to best move your fingers, take it slow you know where they need to go just figure out how to put them there. if that doesnt work i try something harder and then go back to what i was originally playing and it doesnt seem so imposible. and beatles song arent so bad if you dont think of it as a sus4 drop 2 whatever garbage. the top half is a c and the bottom is a g. and we know how to do that riiiight?

  • yeah the guiter tone is def improved frm ur last one. nice playing 2 a great song.

  • yeah i remember ..i have seen ur previous version too..i remember ur black t-shirt and wrist watch..lol... but this version is cleaner and better than previous one.. great playing.. u rock..try playing receurdos de la alhambra as well.

  • Excellent! Great playing and tone was fantastic. I play the guitar too but not that well:-) You are very talented. Nadine

  • Hi Arturo,

well done indeed. All the stars for you !

Cheers from Lemgo/Germany and always stay tuned

    Bernd

  • That's awesome! Thanks for posting it.

  • Awesome stuff...... Dont ever take a break from playing..... The longer you stop playing, the harder it is to get back into..

  • Thanks for the advice. I'll keep remembering it.

  • youre very good looking

  • holy shit- you rock!

  • great! it is the Eric Clapton version right? please check mine XD 5 stars!

  • its know as his version but eric never actually played it.

  • fucking YES!!!

  • very good and its great that you know this is not an EC song. You are very young and you will never tire of this. You will be able to play it and will all your life. I learned it 40 years ago when MW won 3 grammys for it and it was a magahit and I still play it once in awhile. Its the most played guitar instrumental of all time. Bravo

  • dude awesome attempt

  • perfect

  • thx for the video.

this will help me lots =]

  • btw, do you have a certain tab you looked to learn it?

  • Hi, sorry for the late response. I used several tabs when i was learning this songs, and got some parts by ear. Go to ultimate-guitar(dot)com and search for Classical Gas. You will find there nice tabs for you to learn this song. Cheers

  • nicely done man

  • Sounds very similar to your older version, which means it's really good. :)

I also got a video of me playing this song. B)

  • Make sure when you pick using your thumb, that it stays outside the area of your 4 other fingers. The reason for that is so that your fingers don't bump into each other. It used to be a bad habit of mine that my teacher told me to try to fix. It really helps in the long run. Also, there are better left hand positions that you could have used to be more efficient.

Otherwise, great playing. Carry on! I hope to be able to post my video of that song in the near future.

  • Constructive criticism, I'm being kind! Teaching him to become even BETTER, and by the way, I can play this.

  • Timing, work on timing! This can not be said enough, playing guitar without timing is worthless.

  • Some people should be carefull talking about something they might not know too much about.

I wonder if half the people who said bad things about this video could actually play it.

    I say : wonderful arturobc :)

  • i think silkeauvethe is absolutly right, i dont know how all these internetkids and guys dare to criticize people who play in another leage, its annoying and ridicolous. youtuberule no1: do it better or shut up, i dont believe you can play it nearly as good as he does

  • this is incredable!!

amaizing performance, havent seen one soo acurate soo far on youtube. brilliant.

were did u get the music sheet? or did u use tab?

  • I got the tab from ultimate guitar a few years ago and then completed some parts by ear.

  • ooo, okay... cause i can play the song, im just missign some parts of it too.. cant figue them out though... like, the hammer ons sound different for some reason... i dunno, i guess im just gonna have to lisen to it and play around with the song...

  • Cool!! "A" from me. What guitar have you use in this performance?

  • I used an Alhambra 2C. It's a spanish classical guitar.

  • Nice! That was very well played, although I did notice you play a bit too fast at 1:38... allow the notes to ring out a bit while switching chords, I think it'll sound even better! :D

  • very well done, hands down my favorite song to play on a Classical Guitar.

    Good Job!

  • Really well played

  • F**K YEAH!!!! that's all i can say.

  • Thank you for posting, I like your performance, way to go :)

  • mate this is fucked great... wow ur good i'm 12 and i can narly play it as good as you i watched this and made the improvements you did now it sounds great thnx for entertaiment and helping me =P

  • much improvement may i say!!! way to go!

  • THIS IS FUCKEN FANTASTIC!

  • Damn! u r good, ive been trying to play this song for like forever!!! n i still suck cus I dont have much time to practice lol

  • dayammm dude!

    your fucking awesome Lol.

  • at first good job

but u must put more calm into this music, then its fantastic instead of good ^^

  • yeah definitely was... rushed.. pressured maybe. regardless, im impressed. well done

  • Pfft. It's fucking brilliant. He can play it as fast as he wants because it sounds deadly instead of "nice" and "pleasant".

  • u make it look so easy haha

  • hey this version is a lot better than the other one, great job :)

  • awesome, im currently learning that song and it's friggin hard haha gooood job

  • fantastic version! the chord progression starting at 2:16 is so difficult, you got it spot on nice work!

  • i really want to lear this song

  • Classical Gas is actually by Mason Williams, and unfortunately this version is not the full. Sorry buddy - good effort though but you are missing the first bridge. Builds up from the 6th Fret. Get the full song by Mason Williams and you will see what I mean.

  • Good job, man.

  • hey man that was perfect :) love 2 know where u got the tab cause the ones ive found are pretty crappy :) let me know thnx

  • wohhh niceee, dammmn i need to play like tht

  • Very Nicely Done!

    i envy you.. :P

  • nicely done. a bit better than the other attempt. which tab did you use? I am working on this song right now, and i pretty much have to do it by ear cuz the tabs aren't very good at all. let me know if you know of a good tab.

    Thank you for sharing

  • very cool, i realy wanna learn this song, do u know were i can get the notes? PM me!!
