A Bmw 335i costs about 64k up here in canada fully loaded. A fully loaded G37 is 48k. If i spent that 12k remaining on the G37 i could put it into a different league to a 335i, were talking 550-600bhp!

tuning is everything. Untuned my friends Z3 2.8i was making roughly 250whp with a VF kit at 8psi and the torque curve was all spikey thanks to their crappy off the shelf reflashes they sell. T.R.M tuned a 3.2 with a rotrex blower at 8psi and it made 342whp on the dyno. Custom tuning is everything on these BMW's because of their highly encrypted ECU's, and only a few shops in the nation can actually "tune" them

Your supercharger is only running 6 psi. That is like only 30% increase in power and supercharger usually rob the engine of 20% of its power since they are driven by a crankshaft.

He(M3) is using a centrifical supercharger which is basically a belt driven turbocharger. They usually dont make the whining noise, however, some do.

The GT500 uses a Eaton roots type supercharger which always makes that high pitched whine.

I personally love the whine, but some do not.

I was expecting a lot higher of a trap speed than 101 out of it though. It's in California at Infineon Raceway. My friend's 07 Z on DRs w/ exhaust, gears, and tune went 13.4 @ 105 though.

That is why they have the 370z, no frills, no bullshit sports car. I personally would rather have a g37 because I like a quiet luxurious comfortable car with sporting intentions where as the Z is too hardcore for your daily drives. Not sure if you ever driven a G, but they hide their weight very well, so do 3 series

theres no way the is an m3...it is an e36 since that is the chassis code for the 92-99 3 series models. this is what the race would look like with a m3 e36 with an exhaust and intake. no way a g5 or g7 could ever run with an m3 e36 thats boosted im sorry

On my way to infiniti dealer a g37 was pulling out so i followed them. i guess he wanted to test out his G againts my M. to make my story short we went at it and got him by 2 cars he never had a chance. test drove a 6mt and it feels quick but noticed i have to rev it up high to feel a good pull. very nice car thinkinf of trading in my car but only offered me 15k for my car.

there isn't much out for the g37 yet. no f/i, the intakes and exhausts only give 5-7 whp gain. the adaptive ecu makes it pretty tough to do bolt-ons and get any substantial gains.

Check the specs both cars have similar hp/tq. But mine is a V6 vs V8. I'm not sure which car is lighter.

Last time I checked I have a V6 not a V8. It's nice car but I'm gonna have to test drive one to see how it drives. I have an advantage on weight just trying to figure out how he was keeping up with me. BTW, I'm not trying to put down your car.

are you sure that BMW was supercharged? I know the G37 is quick but a supercharged M3 should have been quicker.

It's my cousins car. He has a VFI kit with 6 lbs. of boost and he still got his factory catalytic converters. Car has not been tuned yet.
