  • if they only done australian national anthem...

  • you guys harping on instrumentation to sound like you're intelligent are moronic. it's a trumpet quartet. it's a completely different brand than a brass quintet. it's SUPPOSED to have a different sound. this is a high school group that had remarkable tone and intonation for that age when you very rarely hear in high school. pretty well written and pretty well played.

the instrumentation comments though are flat out retarded.

  • pretty good just no high notes :(

  • this remides me of my brouther he's dead now

  • Anything brass is incredible. All it takes is a trumpet baritone/bone a horn and a tuba to make any simple piece of music sound great

  • Wonderful

  • thats amasing

  • 0.08 is like the most awesome rift on that low trumpet part

  • love trumpet even though I play the clarinet... Weird Right???

  • @ChocBarbie97 No, it's because trumpets are better.

  • Euphoniums baby! xD Lol in beginner band I was like what the finland is that ? Ya'll did awesome!

  • i love listening to a bunch of different trumpet players! its so cool to listen to how differnet people play! some are higher than others, and less wobbly. but if ou try ur hardest, all of them are good! and these trumpets...they are just....amazing!

  • Stop shakin', will ya?

  • Oh my gosh...PERFECT TUNING!!!!!! MY BAND IS COMPLETE SHIT AND OUR TUNING IS NEVER ON!

  • forget the trumpets, its all about the clarinets

  • @claysamazing you can barely hear clarinets! :)

  • @SunlightProdutions thats only because the trumpets play too loud, lol

  • @claysamazing hehe:)

  • Two trumpets, a trombone, and a euphonium/baritone/tuba, or even one trumpet, two trombones/euphonium/baritone, and a tube would be better instrumentation, but at some point better tone quality wins out over better instrumentation, which is what I'm hoping was the case here. It sounded great.

Trumpet quartets just sound so... empty, unless you somehow get someone playing "bass trumpet". One of the reasons I prefer trombone/euphonium/baritone quartets. They can actually fill sound out.

  • hold those whole notes there full value guys, but other then that articulation was spot on, great job gave me some goose bumps :D

  • Wow really well done!!! At first I was wondering which DCI group this is.

  • @celphon If it was DCI, they would be playing this up like 4 octaves lol.

  • @th3mexican227 If we played it up 4 octaves, it would be inaudible.

  • @seanmillah ever heard of sarcasm?

  • @th3mexican227 Hmmmm...nope. Doesn't ring a bell!

  • @steven9595959595 I highly doubt you can play in that register with that tone quality

  • @steven9595959595 i highly doubt you can play in that tone and quality, takes years of practice to sound like them

  • @RobertWilliamson1 been practicing since was eight

  • @steven9595959595 wow. 4 years. your pro. They have probably been playing this since they were 8, and there in their late teens. Noob gtfo

  • @steven9595959595 cool story bro. but they're really excellent players. don't be a cocky jerk. i play trumpet too and if you were a true trumpet player you'd get your head outta your ass and be nicer to other players. they did a really great job at this and it was beautiful so don't hate. if you're gunna hate just leave the video. it's not that hard. all you do is type something else in the search box :)

  • @warmest103 how is this mediocre?

  • Holy crap that's a good trumpet section for a high school band :D

  • wow cuz were one of the best bands in U.S.

  • Pshhhhhh...mediocre at best. No high C's at the end? Weak! Our HS would wreck you with 4 trumpets

  • @warmaste103

That's just like, your opinion man..

  • @warmaste103 You don't have to play a high c to make the national anthem good. All you need is to sing/play it as it's written. Good example is them.

  • @warmaste103 psshhh hey prove it or we couldn't care less

  • dude...i wish we had four trumpets at my school that were that good...im first chair in the top band at my school and i could probably hang with these guys (at least for this piece) but if my school tried to do a quartet with the top 4 trumpets it would failllll

  • ok.

  • Vibrato (high octaves trumpet 1 and 2) would change this from fantastic to orgasmic. Very nice.

  • @ThreeItsTre Why would any of them use vibrato if they're in a quartet? You only use vibrato in solos....

  • @hubuloo

They didn't "mess up", someone just cracked. It is EXTREMELY well played for a high school level section, and imho the only thing missing was the high C at the "land of the free". But I think pointing out a mistake from a group of young kids that are very good trumpet players is a little immature...

  • @AnubisStar1921 I can not agree with you more. It is very hard to find true, pure talent in High School. If you think its easy, your mistaking it for skill. There's a difference.

  • messed up at 0:28

  • Good job. Nice balance for that song.

  • i almost clapped at the end

  • very nicely played!

  • It would be nice if you guys had a low brass instrument playing the background parts. I hear one of you guys playing the lower part. But it was good.

  • @ChuCkyKiLLER001 why would you have low brass in a trumpet quartet? lol jw

  • @ChuCkyKiLLER001 all the other guy needed was a bigger mouthpiece or bigger balls

  • i played this version this year for my marching band i loved it

  • nice work...excellent intonation!....was very surprised to see this was high school.

  • So sorry about beating you guys at BOA last night... Birdville all the way

  • Our trumpets played this arrangment before a festival

  • you guys sound so AMAZING!!!! Love your tones

  • they have really good posture!!:)

  • @heymaggie60 Agreed.

  • @heymaggie60 Trombones and euphoniums beg to differ, my good sir

  • @heymaggie60 i agree since i play trumpet also, in my high school marching band

  • @theastrofire i agree with both ! i also play trumpet in a high school marching band :) GO TRUMPETS :]

  • @heymaggie60 agreed

  • @heymaggie60 Ive been playing trumpet for 7 years now and i also play Baritone susaphone tuba trombone cornet french horn euphonium and just about all brass but i love trumpet the mosst

  • @heymaggie60 Couldn't have said it better man.

  • best national anthem video I saw on youtube.. and the only one plays the dotted eighth-sixteenth notes as they should be.. thank you guys, great job..

  • lets see you sing those dotted eighths.

NOBODY DOES. That's why dotted eighths are WRONG.

  • @AllStarBugler

I don't think it's wrong, it gives a much better "march" feeling.

  • @AllStarBugler day, today. there i sang it. star spangled banner is a drunk irish song thats supposed to be cheerful and lively, not slow and legato.
