I could care less what anyone says. I don't have any of the antenna issues with my phone at all. I'm going to keep using it and loving it and will definitely buy another iPhone in the future unless it's bested by a Droid.

The antenna issue with the Iphone g4 is really a dissapointment. A free cover is not a solution because it fucks up the tight look on the phone, with the free cover that Apple is offering, it looks like the older generation Iphones. I'm not buying it until the problem is resoved within the phone itself.

This report is almost wholly incorrect. Less then 2% of customers have returned the iPhone4 (1/3 the rate the previous model was return rate). The phone works better then the all other phones on the market except in this one way - where it only drops 1 in 100 more calls then the prior model does. All cell phone have reduced perfomance depending on how they are held. A cheap case completely solves this problem and Apple has responded to this problem and offeres the case for free.

Any software developer knows that beta testing will never bring all problems to light.
The "blue screen of death" which you refer to is a fine example of this, as a software developer, for both Operating Systems I have dealt with software crashes for Macintosh, and take it from an expert, I would much rather a screen telling me what has gone wrong and a chance to fix the problem, then an entire failure of all OS features and reboot. This often leads to lost drivers for Macintosh. Which isn't very fun because Macintosh is the worst OS to repair drivers on.

The first time i sent it in was cuz it would scratch the discs (standing up or horizontal) after like a week of playing them.. that took 2 months to get back.. Then the next 3 were due to the Red Ring of Death, those were all faster returns... And the reasons it got the RROD wasn't cuz it wasn't ventilated well or any of those things. (im pretty sure each time they sent me a diff refurbished Xbox too)

I sent one in for a RROD, got it back within the month, haven't had a problem with the next one at all, even after playing it for 8 hours. With the New 250GB one it has vents and a fan, so theres no problem either way. :)

Heres why the iPhone 4G doesn't work, its not the link or system of the phone, its the provider (ATT) doesn't have 4G network. Why I say this? The only company that has 87% stake in 4G Network is CLEAR, the rest is Verizon and Sprint. My sources tell there was a federal case that ATT challenged CLEAR for the network service but its because ATT was taking too long to start the network. PERIOD!!!

Linux is a higher end operating system that requires high experience to maintain.
Mac is a very tightly locked operating system only available on Mac computers.
Windows is open to a very wide variety of software that is unmonitored and available on a variety of systems.
In this way, Android is more like Windows and iOS4 is unsurprisingly, like Mac.

The antenna issue with the Iphone g4 is really a dissapointment. A free cover is not a solution because it fucks up the tight look on the phone, with the free cover that Apple is offering, it looks like the older generation Iphones. I'm not buying it until the problem is resoved within the phone itself.

This report is almost wholly incorrect. Less then 2% of customers have returned the iPhone4 (1/3 the rate the previous model was return rate). The phone works better then the all other phones on the market except in this one way - where it only drops 1 in 100 more calls then the prior model does. All cell phone have reduced perfomance depending on how they are held. A cheap case completely solves this problem and Apple has responded to this problem and offeres the case for free.

Yeah, my Mac's never had a virus problem since I got it over a year ago. It's awesome.
My PC, on the other hand, had TONS of them. I only use it for college work now, like powerpoints and stuff. XD
Each product has its strengths and weaknesses. As a consumer, I would rather take the best of each product. XD I'm a mac AND a pc~!

@sorchigo Macs actually do have quite a bit of viruses, the main difference between a Windows platform and a Macintosh platform when it comes ot viruses, is that windows has actual virus protection, macs simply get the virus, and the virus is later removed during a system update. Apple does this secretly, at the expense of the end user to convince non-computer oriented consumers.
Any software developer knows that beta testing will never bring all problems to light.

The "blue screen of death" which you refer to is a fine example of this, as a software developer, for both Operating Systems I have dealt with software crashes for Macintosh, and take it from an expert, I would much rather a screen telling me what has gone wrong and a chance to fix the problem, then an entire failure of all OS features and reboot. This often leads to lost drivers for Macintosh. Which isn't very fun because Macintosh is the worst OS to repair drivers on.

I've haven't dropped a call in a real life situation yet because of this issue, to drop bars you have to be squeezing the phone and when you buy a case it completely removes this problem. Overall you can't really say the iPhone 4 is a bad phone. The media is just blowing this problem out of proportion.

XBOX 360 units are defective and should have had production halted completely, yet M$ simply was allowed to bail out their bail out box 360 time and time again. It was defective without a doubt yet Consumer Report took bribes as anonymous donations and let them slide no doubt.
The iPhone 4 on the other hand, boots up, functions and as long as you don't obscure a tiny 1 millimeter spot of the phone it works perfectly fine. You can also buy a cheap case and not worry at all. Yet that's defective?

consumer reports made $300 million last year in "donations" to the consumers union, yet they deemed the XBOX 360 worthy of endorsing when everybody know it's a defective piece of shit and had multiple class action law suits filed against M$ for it. But, XBOX 360 is not defective and iPHone 4 is deemed defective? = corruption via "donations".

The first time i sent it in was cuz it would scratch the discs (standing up or horizontal) after like a week of playing them.. that took 2 months to get back.. Then the next 3 were due to the Red Ring of Death, those were all faster returns... And the reasons it got the RROD wasn't cuz it wasn't ventilated well or any of those things. (im pretty sure each time they sent me a diff refurbished Xbox too)

I sent one in for a RROD, got it back within the month, haven't had a problem with the next one at all, even after playing it for 8 hours. With the New 250GB one it has vents and a fan, so theres no problem either way. :)

It was a matter of time before a defective product was going to be produced. They were spitting them out like hot cakes. I remember the Mac Cube crap they put out, it would over heat and crack. I remember seeing the display model at Circuit City already cracking. The Iphone is great for what it does, I think the fix is going to be, the IPhone 5 or the already working 3g and 3gs. Apple already has 2 products in the top 25 worst gadgets, the Newton was made fun of in the Simpson.

they said it whould be better for apple to give it out free rather than burdening customers with the cost.
also in order to 'fix' this issue by recalling all the sold phone will cost 1.5 billion (that's not a smart business move!).

Heres why the iPhone 4G doesn't work, its not the link or system of the phone, its the provider (ATT) doesn't have 4G network. Why I say this? The only company that has 87% stake in 4G Network is CLEAR, the rest is Verizon and Sprint. My sources tell there was a federal case that ATT challenged CLEAR for the network service but its because ATT was taking too long to start the network. PERIOD!!!

Also, just remembered... The costs for a full recall of the iPhone 4 are is in the range of $1.6 billion, so no wonder they're not jumping out with a recall off the cuff.
I think that providing free bumpers with every phone would be preferable considering that would only cost them a few million dollars and everyone would be able to make calls on their phone. If they aren't happy, then they can always return their phones. You know, RETURN for a REFUND? Some people never heard of that apparently.

OK, this story is really late...
1) Apple will be holding a press conference on the iPhone4 tomorrow to discuss the reception issue.
2) The issue is completely resolved by putting the phone in a bumper or case.
3) It is suspected that Apple will start giving free bumpers to iPhone 4 users, which is what they should have done from jump street.
