sweet gun m8 i as well built a custom aeg i have a echo1 stag arms 15 m16 dmr mod4 with a 3 inch barrel extension with a madbull amplifier and a magpul pistol grip a m180 G&P satan motor, a 650mm 6.01 inner barrel and a custom built aiminc mechbox with monster torc up gears aluminum pistom piston head a cylinder head ball bearing spring guide with a m170 spring i chronoed this gun with 30g and it was around 650 to 585 fps but you def got a sweet rig there m8 if you wont to see a video of it

I doubt most airsoft places will let you use this. 550 fps is enough to easily embed the BB in someone's skin at close range. that being said, if you mount a good scope on that baby it would make a great distance gun.

@12ANC21 well a .40 cal is much bigger than the standard 6mm bb so it would have a lot more kinetic energy. I don't think you need to worry about someone bringing a .40 cal gun to an airsoft match. But if a 6mm bb hit someone in their unprotected eye, depending on the type of bb it could potentially go through your eye and into your brain.

in case you did not know, their is texturized tape specialized for a better grip, I sometimes use it on my guns on hotspots where I generally grip my guns at. So their is always the chance that he did it for a reason.

What you are thinking of is airsoft over 500 fps and more then 4.2 ft-lbs is a dangerous weapon listed under the law known as the firearms act in canada. Way different.

Some of my friends make fun of me for purchasing airsoft guns that only shoot at about 130 fps. But I don't do that because I am cheap, but rather to be a good person and solve the problem that you explained, I don't buy 400-600 fps guns because I know it really hurts to get shot with a gun at that fps. And as well all know, airsoft is nothing but teamwork and fun, not intended pain.

550 fps isn't that painful...have you tried going to the philippines?we have an "open-fps" category of which guns can reach 650-700 fps@ .23 and .25...and some are built over jg's reinforced gearboxes..usually on an ak platform..there are even gunsmiths here making guns that reaches more than 1000 fps
