Your best bet to find the accepted approach suited for your goals in fasting would be to do an online search. There are many websites which detail various poojas to the different aspects of Shri Lakshmi. Try using phrases like "puja and viradham and Shri Lakshmi" or "pooja and viradham and Shri Lakshmi" If you perform your pooja for the purpose of expressing your devotion, you can never go wrong!!!
