One thing I would suggest. is using a gray primer for the shuttle and any other plastic parts that are white, which are gonna be painted white. the primer will allow you to see any problems with seams and everything.
@bzzymatt I don't always use a primer because I am trying to learn how to use as little paint on the model as possible. Too think of a primer would obscure detail. Take a look at the Corsair model I am working on. The panel lines are so small that a think primer would obstruct them completely. I have also had other issues because I put the paint on so thick. This is the reason why I built this model. To experiment with new types of paint.
@badgrendels now there is another idea on how you can keep putty off of most of your model and more on the seam. a guy named "Basicmodelling" he has a technique that is very accurate for putty application. check it out sometime. there is a tutorial for putty application.
@bzzymatt I have seen it, I am somewhat stubborn at times and I am trying to master this technique. I think I about have it. The combination of putty and Mr. Surfacer has been working great.
I liked the approach with the sliver paint, the technique wa covered in this months Fine Sacel Modeller Magazine. The problem solving you did on the spraying issue was intresting, thats one to look out for. Enjoyed the Vid.
@lopuilap I am sure there is, I am too cheap to buy it. I do have some 1200 grit sand paper but the paint itself usually smooths out any remaining scratch marks.

@bzzymatt I actually did that with the 747. And you are right, it did show up a bad seam.

@MilitaryAircraft101 What are you using to fill the seam? Have you ever tired Mr. Surfacer?
