With District 9 proving to be one of he best sci-fi films of 2009; it's simple to imagine how easy it would be for Niell Blomkamp and Peter Jackson to make a Halo film; of course it would inevitably be rejected by the majority of critics, thus turning it into a cult film, It could sill be done, if we could prove that it wouldn't ruin his career....
thx on the passdown jacinto. I haven't really cared to see any movie until District 9. You can see the Blomkamp "style"- like ultra-realistic blunt force trauma.
After they crash-land on an artificial ring-world called "Halo", a navy captain, his surviving marines, and a chemically-and-surgically-enhanced supersoldier named John-117 "Master Chief" must find out what the Covenant, the genocidal alien race they are at war with, are looking for on the ring. Hopefully that answers your question.

I have to say i thought these looked awful, some parts were good (like the assembly part) but the rest just seemed to cheesy, the marines look like a joke to be honest, and the pink explosion at the end of the first clip had me rolling around laughing. Seriously i just didn't get the Halo feel from these shorts at all.

I really love the commercial at the beginning, but the rest of the shorts look really cheap and amateurish (FX aside). It looks like a bunch of high school kids in homemade Halo costumes went out and shot something in the local park with a really cheap video camera. Definitely doesn't feel epic at all.
I know, they do movies for games like hitman and stuff, but they wont do one for the best selling/ most played / most popular game ever. that dosent make any sence at all!
its not that hollywood doesnt want to finance it, there are legal battles over who would get the rights. but the announced date by blokamp would be a 2012 release with the director from GI Joe. i dont know if thats good or bad
yeh but they want to make sure the rights go to someone who´ll put plenty of money and time into the film, if they sold it for 5p to some small company who make about 50p a year it would´nt be very goo would it???
I think James Cameron should direct the movie if the project gets picked up again.

The movie will come out eventually. These shorts only prove that it can be done. They just need to make the MC a badass and true to who he is.

@Sierrafox17 if youve played the games you'd know someone in a non-moving warthog firing the gun is a dead man

Such a shame the movie is dead. No one in Hollywood wants to finance it. Even after seeing these wonderful shorts.

it does. Any hitman movie would be way cheaper than epic Halo one ;) It's all about the money my friend. THe same goes to Bioshock.

Microsoft ruined the halo movie idea. They are demanding 200 million for the rights to the movie
