@dyl3ndj This is not "Latin cha cha" in the sense of "the cha cha as it is danced in the International Latin division of competitive ballroom dance", but rather it is "Latin" in the sense that at most Latin/Salsa events, this is the way the cha cha is danced.

Hey Anthony, ignore the negativity, A couple questions... Is it typical to begin partner dance for the guy to go forward on 6 rather than stepping in place on 1 (i.e. going towards the lady, as opposed to having her come toward you?). Could you provide a general explaination how latin style would compare with ballroom? Considering a class, but usually they are part of a ballroom context, which probably isn't what I'm looking for. @iitscaarolx3: LOL. There's the latin cha cha (like this one), the American cha cha, and the international cha cha. Which one have you been doing? Personally I prefer the international. The basic demo here is a bit similar to the international basic except even when doing the basic, the international steps, style, and hip movements are precise and defined and the body carriage is tall and strong. At least that’s what my teacher keeps reminding me, and she’s an international champion.

I understand the moves and footwork. But I was taught a little differently and was wondering if it was wrong and I should un-learn it. I was taught, instead of the initial "1-2-3- cha cha cha" pattern like you teach here, I was taught, and do, a "1-2- cha cha cha". Basically, I do a two-count rockstep, and then cha cha. Is this wrong? It doesn't give me problems, nor am I out of time with the music... I think. Thanks for the help!

Why are their knees bent? Your only supposed to bend ur knees when u shift ur weight from one leg to the other. Plus ur legs need to cross when u do the triple step or the cha cha cha.
