  • ;) Nice job

  • Yep save the tv and the wine classic, good job. Thats what i wld do.

  • @chchtemptress Unfortunately the first big June aftershock made that big TV do a back-somersault off that table and broke that wine glass, along with other glasses and crockery. The TV is now G-clamped to the table and I drink my wine from a big, thick, quake-resistant beer-mug! So far, so good.

  • shit u ahd to look twice there if that was pot in the shells there :O

  • @ashleyf69er It's lavender: keeps the mozzies away: spices up curries as well.

  • Heck, I like this guy. Wine an all, and first things first, save the TV. Total kiwi style!

  • yup... Typical man.... SAVE THE BOOZE & TV!!!!

  • I agree with the power thing, Very fortunate. We didn't have power for 4 weeks, and longer with no water... we were in Avondale.

  • fantastic video!!! it really captures the shit that we have been going through for months now

  • Haha! I love how you have your red wine.

    Hope you're okay.

  • haha save the tv :) cmu!

  • Nice beard Moses.

  • i'm from mexico..so i know how you feel when an earthquake hapens(sorry for my bad english)

  • damn..whats with earthquakes lasting soo long?

  • @Dementia1680 feels like FOREVER! I live in Christchurch and this was so scary.

  • @royalbuff123 I can imagine,i felt the Baja California 7.2 earthquake last year and it was a scary experience. I cant imagine how it felt on the epicenter..I wish you and the rest of Christchurch Good luck

  • how far away from christchurch are you, to still have power at this time, and the shake seemed rather gentle?

  • @BLOEDVLEK This is about 18kms north of the city centre, and the epicentre was about 10kms south of the city, so we had less of an upheaval than the city had. It was the other way round with the September 7.1 quake.

  • When that Aftershock Struck It was sooooooo big

  • This guy! Having a glass of wine! You are awesome. I live in chch on the east side, we have lost our house and i lost a mate and i can honestly say......after THOUSANDS of aftershocks there is nothing better then sitting with a glass of wine or beer to relax. Hope you are still enjoying it!

  • having a nice glass of wine !!

  • @jackaboo123 Sure thing man. With all these earthquakes and aftershocks (6000+ so far), a glass of robust Aussie red helps to reduce the tension. It is diluted 5:1 with water: honest! (That's 1 part wine to 5 parts water : works for me). Hope you never have to experience a big earthquake: they're violent and shocking.

  • Don't think I could sit down and have a wine after a big earthquake! That rumble is so loud!

  • Hey swap ya tvs ;) glad you had power, by the time I got home, I had found out the extend of the damage around my area and my home, which I am lucky to say has suffered no major damage

  • epic beard man!

  • Some people truly love their Plasma T.V. more than life it self. I would have walked to the nearest doorway to protect my head from a falling plaster. This guy runs to make sure the T.V. is safe. Priorities.... People..... Priorities......

  • @radames57 After 6 months of aftershocks (over 5000 of them) I reckon I'm in a better position to judge the danger than perhaps you are. That TV sits on my earthquake shelter (that robust pine table that my brother built for me): if the house started toppling, I would have dived under that table. The deadly 6.3 quake 2 hours earlier moved the TV over 1 foot, nearly off the edge of the table. In the 7.1 5 months earlier, you couldn't have run or walked anywhere: the place shook so violently!

  • wow. I can't get over that rumble.

  • Cheers Diarmuid, yes i have sent an email to peetey and all seems to be ok.

chch wont be the same thats for real, and when you see tanks across the road from where i live, it brings home the scale of what has happened.

Shit, ground zero has come to town.

I have to say tho, ive been listening to radio live, as i have have no tv and the power of supoort from all kiwis and the rest of the world is amazing

    We all stand tall

    cheers paul

    Keep in touch

  • HI Diarumuid, good to c u r in one piece.

Did you suffer much damage with the firts one?

My flat on fitzgerald ave was a mess as well as upstairs where I work

Still cant believe what has happened is for real

Anyway, good to c u r in 1 piece and enjoy that red wine

    cheers Paul

  • @MrHarleyddd Thanks Paul: just similar debris to the 7.1, but very little structural damage around Kaiapoi this time, thankfully. Hope Peetey is OK over on the peninsula. Things will settle down again, slowly but surely, but the city will never be the same.
