  • Nikki Sudden...doing a cover of the Johnny Thunders classic "You Can't Put Your Arms Round A Memory".

He does one hell of a great job that's for sure, I like how he actually changes the arrangement a bit. Sort of makes it his own. Now I find myself usually singing a version closer to Sudden's probably just because it is new and different from what I have listened to for the past 9 years.

  • can somebody tell me who is this?

  • The God-like Nikki Sudden, a Brit musician originally in the somewhat obscure punk group Swell Maps. Has had a long cult solo career. Brilliant & influenced by mid-period Stones & (obviously) Thunders. Find his music, listen to it & love it.

  • Also check out Nikki's bands he formed after Swell Maps broke up. They include Robspierre's Velvet Basement and Nikki Sudden and the French Revolution. Great stuff.

  • ACTUALLY Robspierre's Velvet Basement was the title of an album by the group entitled 'Jacobites' which consisted on Nikki Sudden & Dave Kusworth. Nikki & The French Revolution is correct another would be his late group Nikki Sudden & The Last Bandits

  • Yup, you're absolutely right. I knew I made a mistake as soon as I typed it. Sometimes I just get so confused by the names of the bands Nikki Sudden was in. For some reason I always used to look at that Robespierre's LP and thought that Jacobites was the name of the record. Oh well. Thanks for setting it all straight.

  • Great video, great song, great voice! R.I.P Nikki

  • very cool
