@DJdext if you knew music you would not hve said that dumb comment- actually check the old charts - I just cant get enough went to #1 in the gay dance scene- as did Let me take you dancing by Bryan Adams - and Depeche mode have had a gay following ever since- dont be a hater - I try not to name call on this site- but you are the dummy here.in this conversation.
@Mixxersmix dude check their wiki page. They have never had a hit on the "gay chart." Because there is no such thing!. There is a dance chart but don't be dumb and think gays have the market cornered on dance music.
maybe gay chart was the wrong choice of words. i meant the music charts in some gay magazines like the advocate, also there used to be a dj magazine called "dance music report did have a Gay dance music chart, it reported from the 10 biggest gay clubs. Not Billboard.it was general dance. I am by no means calling the group gay - just sayoing i remember them as having a sizable audience back in the day. I first heard "i just cant get tnough , from a 12 giving to me by a gay friend.
i meant "I just cant get enough" 12 inch - i got from a friend - he turned me on the to the group - about 8 months before they broke big here in hte us.
@DJdext why i said pre - grunge is due to the some times dark lyrics, and sound of the older songs. it was like grunge to me at least, but beginning in the 80s, well before the 90s seattle craze
@Mixxersmix saying DM were pre grunge is like saying the Beatles were pre disco. Well of course they were. They made music in the 60s and disco was big in the late 70s. The two don't relate and saying DM is pre grunge when those don't relate is silly. I feel the best description is they were new wave. In the 80s there music was played mostly on college stations. They were not mainstream pop or pop rock. They were part of a "new" wave of British acts that got here well before grunge.
@DJdext Actually I do agree that grunge was born from new wave. But I feel that Depeche is different from most of the 80s new wave as they were or seemed to me like more of a serious band, as far as the darkness involved with some of the productions. Comparing the beatles to disco is ok, although the beatles never aimed at disco. I dont think depeche mode actually aimed at new wave, they were just there -
@Mixxersmix a question. How would you rate Kurt Cobain. I would never consider anything by him new wave, but if he had been there he may have been labeled as that, for lack of a better term. Ddepeche mode has been around for a long while so they have slid threw different genres. - also remember we might be from different ages and see music a little differently.

agree with some of what your saying - yes as I dont know a lot about depeche mode except the singles. so actually this convesation is helping me lean- and next time no name calling i am a nice guy
Hey, this is the "Surrender (Catalan FC Out of Reach Mix)", see the Wikipedia entry on the Only When I Lose Myself single. One of my favourite Depeche mixes for sure!
@Finarvas I remember when I first heard it - i had not heard the original - It blew me away with the vocals, I have been a depeche mode fan for years. Thanks for the comment. I did re-edit the song a little and add the voice effects, but it doesnt have any additional instrumental production added here - its based on the original 12 .
@Besokster Thanks buddy. I remember the first time I heard it, I thought it was the original version, and listened to it repeatedly. then I thought about the haunting , surreal nature of the mix, and decided to make it even more ethereal, with some effects. He did a great mix, and now a pretty rare one as well. I appreciate you taking time to comment.
thumbs down for saying depeche mode's music is "pre grunge with a gay feel.". You suck and you're an idiot..
