That's some great advice, i hate getting tan lines, and i'm terrified of risking my skin to cancer. (also, in my mind, my skin cells scream when i burn ... overboard. i blame the advertisements! the skin cancer is one of the biggest killers in Australia, and yet i could only find that Solar Sense cream available from America.) Thanks for suggesting those products :3
ALSO What is that delightful song in the background, i was kinda dancing the whole time :3
HELLA YEA! THAT DAMN SUN WILL DAMAGE YOUR SKIN AND HAIR!! I keep my skin covered from that damn sun...youre actually cooler with a long sleeved shirt than a short sleeved shirt where the sun s hitting DIRECTLY on your skin! plus is dries out your hair and causes hair damage...hair damage=hair loss. PROTECT YOURSELF FROM THE SUN!
@markee871 I live in Hawaii. And as far as I've noticed, the long sleeves trap the heat from the sun and your body and it makes it INCREDIBLY WARM AND HOT. :/ Long sleeves generally do not keep you cool.
I remember hearing that you can't "add" SPFs. So if your highest SPF is 45 then that's the highest it's going to get even if you mix it with another one.
This was great, thanks for posting this! Even though I appreciate all skin colors it's nice to know ways to prevent skin damage, etc for those who are naturally pale and prone to bad tans and/or sunburns!
@Cutie8792747 That is really just rude. All skin types are beautiful, pale, tan, dark, all. Although, it also has to do with what you look like and sometimes your ethnicity. Certain people would look ugly tan. Others would look ugly pale. Being tan does not make you a whore. :/
@andagii I agree, that comment was quite ignorant even if pale skin is beautiful. It's all subjective but putting one over another is where *gasp* racism starts! In any case, maybe that person just doesn't know any better, oh well.
@Cutie8792747 I think it's terrible to go overboard with being tan or pale. I'm naturally pale but I guess you can say I've tanned my skin, some of it doing just with the fact that I live in Hawaii. But I don't overdue it. As long as the person doesn't overdue it, I think it's fine.
i'm not goth but i am so glad that i found this video! i live in southern california too so it is really hard not to be exposed to the scorching sun, especially in the summer. i'm going to try the ice on the face thing. thanks!
@falleninto thankyou! I have a summer job involving the sun and i really don't want to get darker, and those spots that you talked about are sooo disgusting!, so this really helps! p.s. your skin is gorgeous!
@SophieSomeday your hands are the first thing to go because the skin is so thin. take care to protect them r else you'll have spotted ugly hands when you're old. D: ^v^
@SophieSomeday So what if your hands are darker, some people have darker faces and lighter bodies and vice versa...there are creams out there too for discoloration :D
@Starrypla No I don't. I live in southern California so I get plenty of sunshine even if I'm trying to avoid it. I also drink fortified rice/almond dream. Milk does not make it in my world! ^v^
One TINY thing that bugged me was the "goth" comment... In general, you can be fair-skinned and not be "goth". =) I'm French and Irish so I'm SO pale...
But I did find the tips sueful... Esp the ice thing.
@BlueJeanBaby012 Glad that anyone can benefit from this video. Please realize before being "bothered" that my channel has a target audience, but welcomes any OPEN MINDED individuals. OPEN MINDED... ^v^
Dang you have very beautiful skin && thanks for all the tips should help me BUT i live in AZ so in summer it gets 110 Degrees Lmao but you helped me a lot thanks !
just wondering... do you ever pass out from the heat??? it doesn't get that hot here is san diego but i always come close to passing out every summer. ^v^
UV rays cause 80% of skin aging. So if you use a sunblock all your life your skin will stay virtually unchanged. I know because I have done it. Compare the skin on the inside of your arms to the exposed outside. Same skin, by the time you are over 40 looks like it belongs to someone else. The inside remains unchanged. Your skin is beautiful fallen into. Smooth, poreless and uniformly coloured.
Don't tan.
When you are older, all the melanin cells start clumping together in big dark spots. Ugly.
Yes, what you say is correct! Thank you for the lovely comments and the great info! The last thing any of us want is a 70 y/o old wrinkly chest poking out of our shirts when we are only 40... have you seen that before??? It's so scary!!! ^v^
Yes I have seen it before! I lived in S.Africa for 8 yrs and I was like "What's with the womens skin over here.? Women in their 20's with big brown blotches on their chests. From that day onward ( may 1980 ) I have never gone a day without sunblock on my face and my skin is completely unlined (truth)
We have much better blocks in the UK. They have a 5* UVA rating which I don't think they do in the States. Even with our crappy climate! "Boots Soltan Factor 50 ,5* UVA.
@liah97 Most people who tan, or go to the tanning booths will pay a very dear price as they age. If the wrinkles aren't bad enough, the Skin Cancer will be. Is it worth it to look like a leather hand bag? Naaaa.....
I use Kate Somerville SUnBLock Serum SPF55. and I wear a hat and umbrella when I go outside..even when I hike and run I wear long sleeves. On the beach, I use am umbrella as well as a cover up like a towel. YAY for use albino looking people xo
Thanks this helps alot because i hate getting sunbunt and when I do I aways get blisters even if its just the slightest burn annd it hurts like HELL! Oh and I love your hair!
have you tried using aloe on your burns? not the gel, go out and cut a piece right off of the plant and spread the ooze right on to your sunburn/ blisters. this is an ancient homeopathic way to cure burns and save your skin from scarring. it smells funny but is worth it!
hi gnrqueen, you're quite welcome! gotta keep it pale!!! haha, anyway for my hair, since it's naturally dark my stylist bleaches it to it's lightest possible level without damaging it, which is not exactly platinum. I spend like 40 min under the dryer and I hate it!!! Moving on, in between haircuts I use a special shampoo from Sally's Beauty Supply called Clairol Shimmer Lights in Purple.
you see,..im from hong kong so i dont get any stuff out here like manic panic, red eye shadow..idk all sortsa things!
but thanks for the help you're GREAT!
i'll try to find that...shampoo..but i have to re-dye my hair black next month..
school starts :september onwards..but im planning to keep some parts of my hair bleached and take it to the white-ish colour and hopefully ill be able to hide it ^_^
in that case, look for any shampoo that has a blue-violet toner in it. it will look like a highly saturated purple color. it may stain your hair a light periwinkle but that will wash out when you use a regular shampoo, leaving behind a sparkling white color.
that sucks that your school wont let you dye your hair!!
This shampoo is made for silver hair and neutralizes the yellow and pretty much tones everything else. The color keeps lifting w every shampoo and thats why it starts turning silvery white after a while. :)
