  • Great video!! I love landing in Boston, some of the best views ever!

  • @redsoxws2010 Thanks for the comment!

  • wow. Awesome vid

  • Wonderful. Thank you for posting :)

  • Fantastic video

  • @TheVuvucela Thank you!

  • <3 logan....when i begin my cross country training, i'm gonna request we visit...only a $15 landing fee

  • @manifestgtr Last I checked, the landing fee at Logan was more like $28, plus a $20 ramp/handling fee (waived if you purchase fuel). That was 12+ years ago, so it may have gone up since then. It's a very busy airport and small private planes are not welcome there.

However...when/if you do your IFR training, you and your instructor *might* be able to shoot an instrument approach there on certain days when it's not too busy.

  • @sean2015 @manifestgtr

Here is the latest information I could find (note: from 2008):

    $33.00 landing fee

    $166.60 parking (2 nights)

    $48.40 GA fee (!!)

    $56.00 security fee

$28.00 handling fee (waived with 7 gallons fuel purchase)

  • @alexn726 yeah those steep prices don't surprise me a bit. Like I said, the estimates I provided were from the last time I checked (about 12 or 13 years ago).

The $56 "security fee" was probably put in place after 9/11. That would be my guess.

  • Someone actually operates B717's... thought they were removed from service.

  • They were only produced in the 90s. You must be getting them confused with something else. Perhaps you are thinking of the 707 or 727 which are both practically non-existent (the 727 is really only used for cargo now).

  • I know about the 707 and 727... 717's are just rare I guess. Replaced with the CRJ?

  • According to Wikipedia, only 156 were produced. They are basically just like the Boeing MD-80 just newer and I believe smaller.

Replaced by the CRJ? No, not at all. The Boeing 717is in the 100 pax. area and most CRJ-900s are 90 seats. Of course, there aren't a ton of CR9s out there (most are CR7s or smaller).

  • Also, just to add. The two United States airlines that are known for flying the 717 are AirTran (which has a fair amount of them since they were the launch customer) and Hawaiian Airlines.

  • Midwest was also a huge customer for the Boeing 717. They and AirTran Airways were the last to receive deliveries of the aircraft at a ceremony held in 2006.

  • @alexn726 There are still a few 707's and 727's flying around, however they are dominant in cargo these days.

  • I was just trying to set up my camera so I unfortunately didn't have it set properly.

  • very nice colors, good job.

Just curious why you started out sideways? I'm from this area so no stupid questions and go Red Sox

  • Im guessing that was an Airtran 717. Am i right?

  • You are correct.

  • Sorry i feel like a dumbass. I didnt see that it said it was an Airtran 717. But i just knew cuz of the distictive noise the 717's engine makes.

  • Oh, and do you live in the Boston area? Because i live in Gulf Shores, Alabama but im moving to Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2 weeks.

  • Lol...no need to apologize. I actually forgot to include the aircraft information at first.

I live not too far from the city of Boston. Good luck with the move! Anything in specific you'd like to know?

  • Well i will be going to highshool there. I was wondering if i would get my ass beat? uz its a ity shool. DO u think the kids there are rough? And be 100% honest. Im just going to keep to myself and not start shit.

  • Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with Cambridge enough.

  • hahaha on impact you can hear the people shriek lol. very good video
