sorry to say, but, any bird member to the genus: Bueto, sutch as the Bueto Jamacanensis (Res tailed hawk) are buzzards, not black vultures and turkey vultures.
In Europe they call Hawks of the Buteo genus "buzzards". The red-tailed hawk is a buteo. Buteos are the broad winged, fan tailed soaring hawks. In North America Vultures are called 'buzzards'. North American Buzzards/Vultures are not related to 'Old World Vultures' although they fill the same carrion eating niche. On a CSI with turkey vultures they kept showing pictures of African and American Vultures. The two vultures of America are the Black and Turkey Vulture
Thats awesome. We have tons of hawks and I love watching them and figuring out what they are. Right now there is a rough legged hawk thats been hanging around, and this spring there was an eagle. Turkey vultures are pretty cool too.
yanks r fucking stupid...vultures are vultures thier not buzzards...vultures in america evolved from stalks BUZZARDS are a totaly different species. the vultures in africa 'devolved' from eagles. so stop being retards!
it is true us yanks are a bit dumb with the buzzard vulture thing...but its because everyone that was dumped here were not kings so....just fucin wit ya
Just cause I'm a bit drunk, and feeling self-righteous- I'm going to preach a little American misconception. Buzzards are not vultures. Buzzards are hawks. Broad-winged hawks. In North America, we have the Red-tail, Red-shoulder, and Broad-winged hawk, and in Arizona and Texas, we have the Parabuteos (semi-buzzards)- Harris Hawks.
Quick history lesson:
Early American settlers saw Turkey/Black Vultures soaring, as Broadwinged hawks did back in their homeland, instant assumption: Buzzards.
normally a red tailed hawk attempts to kill a turkey vulture. It looks like a game but is not.

You say gas... I say petrol...rctaney pretty well sets it straight. There was no need for Karlthetosser to be abusive about it.

Nice footage. But, it would be good if you looked up the difference between a hawk and a (buzzard) vulture. That black bird is a vulture.

I really like buzzards. They're a very underrated creature, and completely beneficial.
