Yeah, the tyres aren't losing pressure/deflating, that's ridiculous. They're losing grip due to overheating, from being driven too hard. The tyre pressure would in fact be increased.

But then again, half of the so-called technical jargon present in this anime is just entirely incorrect, so a mistranslation here or there doesn't seem that out of place.

The animation in seasons 2-4 is so far ahead of the first season. The CGI vehicles are greatly improved, in the way the look and move, and the characters are much more detailed. It's a shame that the series didn't continue for longer, as it would look amazingly good by now.
