This is the way I wish we could hear the French repertory sung today, and rarely, if ever, do.What a beautiful voice! Borthayre had a remarkably natural sound, without any manufactured qualities. There is a total honesty about his artistry that is at once refreshing, while at the same time frustrating. Who is singing this repertory on this level today? No one that I can think of at the moment. That's the pity.
