Asking how long it takes to build a ship is like asking how long is a piece of string. It depends on the size of the ship, the type of ship, etc. Weather can also have an effect depending on where in the world is being built; typhoon seasons or hurrican seasons can add time to the build. Plans can change during a build which would also add time to the build. The quality of the workers would also have an effect and the list goes on..
