@adams2294 you cant assume we dont need him, im not hatin, but this guys good and the steelers are all about running, when mendenhall or mewelde get hurt we have 2 good backup rookies, and plus mendenhalls not always gonna be there, he could want to go to another team after his contracts up.. we need this guy just like we needed antonio brown and emmanuel sanders, those 2 are amazing rookies, so we never know what to expect

Baron Batch looks like a hell of a back. I saw that he only ran a 4.5 40, but it looks like he plays faster than that. I hope he has a successful career with the Steelers.

@jgity87 Dwyer is a power back, Batch is a speedy catch passer. Plus Dwyer needs to work on keeping in shape, learning the playbook, and blocking. While Isaac Redman does all that and more while Batch will be replacing Mewelde Moore.
Dwyer has the talent but dont be suprised if batch takes his spot, batch has great character and that something dywer lacks. dywer appeared to be a bit lazy and also showed up at camp overweight i believe.
that's a hell of a player! great pick by the steelers! if they manage to make a combination of Mendenhall, Redman and Batch, it's going to be a long, long year for the other teams' defense
CONGRATS PITT FANS! You guys have just received a hell of a player and a young man at that in the 7th round. I watched him every game his entire career at Tech. He is extremely talented and coachable. He's a coaches dream. He is very, very versatile and can run through the seems and be a dangerous receiver from the backfield. He will be a tremndous change of pace back in the NFL. Don't be worrysome that he is a Tech RB because this kid can play and fans will adore him. Congrats to Pittsburgh.

Batch could play right away. He would compliment Mendenhall in a 1 - 2 combo. He reminds me more of a more athletic Danny Woodhead. He could also do punt and kickoff returns.

This guy is a hell of a running back. He's not your typical Texas Tech one trick pony type of player.
I think if he went to a school with a more traditional offense, he could've been drafted much higher
