@minecraft268 Yes! The 100th anniversary is this year but this video was made in 2011 in the anniversary of the LAUNCH!!! Please, read the description...
I think that the British, French, Canadian and American governments should fund raise the rebuild of the Titanic. It would be very helpful and primarily cheap if you split the difference from 4 countries and a billion dollar shipping company. The only problem is that they have to agree on the port of call and the shipyard on which it would have easier access for all the raw materials and master ship builders to come together and agree on a design.
@neominois No it was the Titanic. The forward part of the A Deck Promenade was closed off after launch because Ismay wanted there to be an enclosed area as this was the latest, modern design, plus passengers on the Olympic complained about getting wet in difficult conditions. Changes were made after Titanics launch, during the outfitting procedure.
@neominois Plus if you look onlne, there is a picture of the Titanic and Olympic together in Belfast when the Olympic needed repairing. On that picture you can just make out both of their A Deck promenades are open, so they look identical.
@5KellyChan5 look at the announcement at 0:22. The hull was launched on May 31, 1911. The ship was not completed until months later. She sank in April 1912. You may want to see the video titled Building the Titanic.
@Saledin64 The Titanic's was open, just like the Olympic's, until just a few weeks before she sailed when last-minute changes were made. The still photo here is the Titanic, as the Olympic was painted white for launching.
@Lego206RC Definitely NOT. Olympic was not painted black at launching. The B-Deck promenade that fully encircled that deck was eliminated at the last minute on the Titanic, along with the closing in of the A-Deck forward windows. It was found that the original design provided excess promenade space that was not all used. The Titanic incorporated the famous luxury parlor suites in that area. The same thing was done later to the Olympic. Many changes occurred over the years.
@DCnightcrawler Actually I apologize, you were right about the picture where the Titanic is seen from the stern during launch, the Olympic was painted white. But I am still wondering about another picture, where the Titanic is after launch (still no funnels) already in the water. On the first picture of the Titanic (still in the dock) you can easily see the white letters TITANIC painted on the bow, but this picture does not have them. Did they really repaint those or picture is actually Olympic?
@Lego206RC I just took another look to refresh my memory. All of the shots of the hull afloat after launching are the Titanic. I have seen another one using a still of the Brittannic, which was also painted black, but her upper enclosed windows were divided horizontally along the tops and the boat deck bulwark ran the full length of the deck. I've been looking at all of these photos for 40 years so they are all easily recognizable for me. These were all the Titanic.
@DCnightcrawler The Titanic would be repainted again before handing over to White Star. It was only then that the name and sheer stripe, cut into the iron hull plates, was painted in yellow ochre (gold). These photos were often retouched long ago by the photographers. This computer animation was actually quite good, though the scale of the people at the rails is too big and they failed to note the change in windows occurring AFTER the launch.
@abranic No, it was launched in 1912!! I've read over 30 books about the titanic and 10 movies, so it was built in 1911, but it launched and set sailed in 1912 and the Titanic was only less than 2 weeks old when it sank.
@TheJuicyfruitx Correct! Titanic was finished in March 31,1912, but in May 31th,1911 the ship was launched in Belfast. This video was made in May 2011 for conmemorate this anniversary. :)
It's stranged that the people who created this video did overlooked a real mistake...In this video the enclosed promenade-deck was already build, but in reality the enclosed promenade-deck was build later as you can see in the photo's of Titanic's original launch...

Titanic's outer hull was launched on May 31, 1911 (over a 100 years ago).
Titanic's maiden journey (and last) was on April 10, 1912 (less than).
The video is talking about the launching of the Titanic's outer hull not the maiden journey.

To the guys arguing about the enclosed promenade. I believe that the Olympic's was open and Titanic's closed. Britannic was also enclosed.
