I own a VG-88 myself, would you like to give me the patch settings, as well as what equipment other than the VG-88 you played through? Is there a tube poweramp involved by any chance? Very tube-like sounds, more than I have been able to achieve from my VG.

It's only an harmonic. Play the open string and with your finger hit the harmonic at the 12th fret while the string still vibrate.
