If I wrote this, I'd make the plot BETWEEN Terminator 2 and 3, not a parallel future after Terminator 2. I'd paint Lena Headey's hair to blonde, put a scene with 4 electric spheres with terminators for the whole series (3 T-800 and 1 T-1001), more action, more emotion, end it with Sarah dying by cancer few days after destroying the last of those things and John walking away to nowhere (like he was in Terminator 3). If they made it this way, I think it'd have been a lot better.

I'm just watching season 1 & 2 on DVD now, I have a question. In the openning credits to season 1 Sarah says that "...Skynet a computer system programmed to destroy the world. IT HAS SENT MACHINES BACK THROUGH TIME, some to kill him, ONE TO PROTECT HIM..." hang on, skynet doesn't sent the machine to protect him, does it? Did they screw up the credits for season one or is this a clue? i.e. Skynet from a different time is protecting mankind, or is Jon SkyNet (i.e. he sends the machines).
It's pretty funny because that audience probably didn't know what the fuck to think. "Uh, a Terminator TV series? You guys really do fucking suck, have to ruin everything."
The biggest irony is that it turned out to be the greatest series ever.

As a different format it's easier to accept it as a separate thing, rather than feeling like it forces its way into Terminator 'canon'. Personalities and appearances were changed (I prefer Hamilton's look in T2) but overall it built on the same qualities the original 2 films had as well as developing its own.

Considering that SyFy seems to be rushing through the 31 episode run of the series by airing up to six episodes a Thursday night, I don't think there will be much of an impact as far a return to popularity for the series or the movie franchise, which lost momentum after the lackluster T3 and T4.
T:SCC is dead, and has been for some time. I thought I'd test the waters to see if there was any legit hope for a comeback.
Terminator 3,4, and the series ruined the whole franchise. The first two should have been left alone instead of having the story being inadequately expanded. T3 and 4 are okay, but it should have been based on something BESIDES the Terminator. I honestly hate the series, it doesn't fit in anywhere. Here's one flaw, giving a terminator a name just seems out of place.

It broke my heart the series stopped at season 2, look, if you guys really had gave it a try you will know what you've shutdown here, a quiet decent peice of collection that expands the story, giving us more taste from this classic world for cyborgs, this really could have been a larger work of fantasy for us fans. I've ignored the whole series for a year and when I finally picked it up, it's pretty dead, if you liked it, you would come back to rewatch it and feel pity for how shortly it lived.
Sarah should have killed terminators by herself. So should John. And Sarah should be blonde, why didn't they paint Lena's hair? They should put Terminator movie theme in the opening too. And no musics in some emotional scenes, like when they destroyed the terminator in a church.
Gosh! Sarah is the best character of Terminator movie series. They could've made a much much better plot.
This series had everything to be a great success! Lena Headey is a very good actress, Terminator is one of the best movies ever...
But they ruined it all. They should've made it all in 1999, between Terminator 2 and 3, not an alternative future from T2. It should end when Sarah died. They shouldn't put so many unnecessary characters and too long conversations. And they should've planned the whole series before making the 1st episode.

They should have made this show similar to the Stargate series, or Star Trek, where it cuts out all the drama and you end up with nothing but fun sci-fi, action that can entertain millions of fans, Stargate SG-1 alone had over 200 episodes, and a television series running to this day, and it is a fun show to watch that kept true to the Stargate franchise and its fans..

TSSC was better than 90% of the stuff they show on television, and I say that as an on-again/off-again fan. With the exception of T4 (sans the beginning, which was dope), I LOVED all the T movies and I loved TSSC. They were/are enjoyable and the storyline for John Conner is so flexible. It's sad to watch it and know the show was canceled. I was looking forward to Season 3. Now, the only thing I watch is "Supernatural" and "The Leverage." I miss TSCC!
Like it or not, this show doesn't really deserve to be affiliated with the Terminator series. All it does is beat the time travel concept like a dead horse and add a bunch of annoying plot twists.

@chibangin007 One of my biggest complaints about the show is Cameron blew off the other terminators head with a freakin Shotgun. I'm thinking WTF!!!!! You can't just blow a terminators head off with a shotgun. If you could why didn't they do that in the first episode or better yet the first movie. I mean remember in T2 what the T-1000 did to Arnold. I mean the head is pretty strong.
This show was awesome. A dark drama with plenty of action. Great acting and writing really made it work. Cameron and Derek were my favorite characters. I can't believe it was canceled. I guess people gave up on it when they didn't see shit explode and terminator of the week every episode. This was definitely one of the smartest shows I've watched in a while. I hope it gets a dvd movie or something to finish the story.

This series was so badly written, I appreciate the creativity of attempting t revive the terminator as a series but some of the storylines are silly, dragged out too long... especially the flashback of when that doctor is making the terminators observe a human prisoner... why couldn't he simply programme them with the information!?

I liked the show a lot. The acting was great, a lot better than I expected. Thomas Dekker was a great John Connor. Brian Austin Green really surprised me with how well he did with Derek Reese. Of course the show wasn't perfect, but overall it was great and deserved at least another season.

I am sorry, but the reason I didn't really like this show is because they basically showed that Skynet just kept sending fail after fail, and made it look as if Skynet didn't even know they were failing. If you made a poison that would kill someone, and something prevented it from doing just that, would you notice it wasn't working, but you just keep giving it to people anyway? There needs the smart Skynet we all knew! This show is pointless, because by T2, it should have stopped there.
Its not in between t2 and t3 it completely disregards the events of t3 (thank god) and instead goes off in a different timeline after the events of t2...thats why in this timeline John DID see other Terminators.... :)
The acting in the episode shown here (the pilot) was a little less fluid then it became later in the series, especially towards the end of Season 1 and throughout Season 2.
When i go back and watch the Pilot it does kind of feel off, like they weren't comfortable with their characters yet.
You can't base you opinion on two seasons of content off of a single pilot episode.

T4 was an embarrassment to the franchise. The T-800 had John Connor 10 feet from it for like 15 minutes and it still didn't kill him. Terminators are supposed to be ruthless and efficient killing machines, not giant idiots that bash you around for 15 minutes before dying pointlessly.

It broke my heart the series stopped at season 2, look, if you guys really had gave it a try you will know what you've shutdown here, a quiet decent peice of collection that expands the story, giving us more taste from this classic world for cyborgs, this really could have been a larger work of fantasy for us fans. I've ignored the whole series for a year and when I finally picked it up, it's pretty dead, if you liked it, you would come back to rewatch it and feel pity for how shortly it lived.

Sarah should have killed terminators by herself. So should John. And Sarah should be blonde, why didn't they paint Lena's hair? They should put Terminator movie theme in the opening too. And no musics in some emotional scenes, like when they destroyed the terminator in a church.
Gosh! Sarah is the best character of Terminator movie series. They could've made a much much better plot.

This series had everything to be a great success! Lena Headey is a very good actress, Terminator is one of the best movies ever...
But they ruined it all. They should've made it all in 1999, between Terminator 2 and 3, not an alternative future from T2. It should end when Sarah died. They shouldn't put so many unnecessary characters and too long conversations. And they should've planned the whole series before making the 1st episode.

They should have made this show similar to the Stargate series, or Star Trek, where it cuts out all the drama and you end up with nothing but fun sci-fi, action that can entertain millions of fans, Stargate SG-1 alone had over 200 episodes, and a television series running to this day, and it is a fun show to watch that kept true to the Stargate franchise and its fans..

TSSC was better than 90% of the stuff they show on television, and I say that as an on-again/off-again fan. With the exception of T4 (sans the beginning, which was dope), I LOVED all the T movies and I loved TSSC. They were/are enjoyable and the storyline for John Conner is so flexible. It's sad to watch it and know the show was canceled. I was looking forward to Season 3. Now, the only thing I watch is "Supernatural" and "The Leverage." I miss TSCC!

@chibangin007 One of my biggest complaints about the show is Cameron blew off the other terminators head with a freakin Shotgun. I'm thinking WTF!!!!! You can't just blow a terminators head off with a shotgun. If you could why didn't they do that in the first episode or better yet the first movie. I mean remember in T2 what the T-1000 did to Arnold. I mean the head is pretty strong.

This show was awesome. A dark drama with plenty of action. Great acting and writing really made it work. Cameron and Derek were my favorite characters. I can't believe it was canceled. I guess people gave up on it when they didn't see shit explode and terminator of the week every episode. This was definitely one of the smartest shows I've watched in a while. I hope it gets a dvd movie or something to finish the story.

This series was so badly written, I appreciate the creativity of attempting t revive the terminator as a series but some of the storylines are silly, dragged out too long... especially the flashback of when that doctor is making the terminators observe a human prisoner... why couldn't he simply programme them with the information!?

I liked the show a lot. The acting was great, a lot better than I expected. Thomas Dekker was a great John Connor. Brian Austin Green really surprised me with how well he did with Derek Reese. Of course the show wasn't perfect, but overall it was great and deserved at least another season.

I am sorry, but the reason I didn't really like this show is because they basically showed that Skynet just kept sending fail after fail, and made it look as if Skynet didn't even know they were failing. If you made a poison that would kill someone, and something prevented it from doing just that, would you notice it wasn't working, but you just keep giving it to people anyway? There needs the smart Skynet we all knew! This show is pointless, because by T2, it should have stopped there.

Its not in between t2 and t3 it completely disregards the events of t3 (thank god) and instead goes off in a different timeline after the events of t2...thats why in this timeline John DID see other Terminators.... :)

The acting in the episode shown here (the pilot) was a little less fluid then it became later in the series, especially towards the end of Season 1 and throughout Season 2.
When i go back and watch the Pilot it does kind of feel off, like they weren't comfortable with their characters yet.
You can't base you opinion on two seasons of content off of a single pilot episode.

I don't know quite what it is about the actress playing "Sarah", but I just don't feel it. Sarah Conner from the original Terminator movies is one of the most interesting female movie characters ever; A strong female character who's actually believable. I hope this series doesn't ruin her...

Hahaha you're calling this crap and praising T4? T4 was mindless. I am a diehard Terminator fan, and obviously the first two movies are still the classics, and I doubt anything will surpass the perfection of T2.
T4 was an embarrassment to the franchise. The T-800 had John Connor 10 feet from it for like 15 minutes and it still didn't kill him. Terminators are supposed to be ruthless and efficient killing machines, not giant idiots that bash you around for 15 minutes before dying pointlessly.
