Reminds me of of how Andrew Dice Clay went off on that interviewer.
Patrice called Anders out on his act (which is his character on tv) but Anders called him out on being irrelevant, which was generally true at the time. Anders was the one being brutally honest, and as a result Patrice spoke out in butthuttedness.

I'm a fan of both Patrice & Workaholics, but why does it seem like he over-reacted because of his insecurities? He was a comedian, at least come back with a joke and possibly rip the guy apart to show why you're the more experienced comic, that's what the best do. Don't just become dismissive and throw the "white kid trying too hard not to try" / "hipster" references out there, even if his character's not a style you find humorous.
