  • This reminds me of being thirteen, out for summer vacation, meeting someone incredible, talking on the telephone,Faygo pop,White Castle hamburgers, putting your last quarter in the juke box, going to the the park hangin' after dark with your best friends. And of course, Motown= Stevie Wonder.

  • Monahmonroe. great comment, great great great song

  • SMH @ these kids cussin and fussin on here. You kidz can't even comment or discuss the video without actin like fools. Perhaps you all should wait...grow up some then come back when you're able to respect the music for what it really is.

  • Whoever Disliked This Obviously Listens To Lil Wayne

  • @assfuckt Lmao. Firstly It's A Bit Of A Contradiction Calling Me Stupid Then Typing In Gibberish. Secondly Im 16 , I Dont Consider That Old At All. And Thirdly , Lil Wayne Is Most Definitely NOT The Spokesperson Of My Generation. Also Im Not A ''Nigga'' Im Black. There Is A Difference.

  • I respect Wayne as an artist...However if he is the spokesperson for your generation...yall are ...........f d....start praying bruthu...pray hard..strap n up aint gonna get it...... real spit

  • @ toninshipwreck69 Sarah&St.Louis Ave.Home of Sara-Lou,the best Shrimp in the city..lol,but then you already knew!!! PEACE2U my Homie ;-]

  • This is on of my favorite Stevie. Even though it's simpler than his songs of the 80's (and probably written by the masterminds at Motown - does anyone know.) the combination of the funk and Stevie now changing voice is truly wonderful.

  • This song deserves to be longer than 2:45

  • Wellston Missouri yow! crusing down page coming from the city into wellston late sixties. Damn

  • aaaaah oh how I love you Stevie!!!!!

  • 17 years cousin, we'll see each other again!

  • Hey Sister , He's stil here in our heart!!

  • I can listen to this song all day....HEY LOOOOOVVVEE, BABY.

  • Stevie Is A Legend

  • This was always one of my favorite tracks from Stevie's teenage years. Listening to it now I realize that the beauty of the track is that Clarence Paul kept the production relatively simple: just Stevie, the Funk Brothers, and the Andantes' sweet backing vocals.

  • <3 My big brother Jose showed me this.

  • Wasn't this the b-side of 'you met your match' 45?

  • @wp8954 This was the b-side of "Trav'lin' Man" (one of Stevie's more modest hits), released in February 1967. The b-side of "You Met Your Match" was a cover of the Temptations' "My Girl".

  • My Baby Indio Calac dedicates this song to his Baby Doll Sandra Calac who he loves so very much with all his heart and soul. We are forever without any ending... No one can compare to our real love, no one!!!!

  • Great Song!!!!!!!

  • Timeless song in 68 the year in which I was born...The moment of the world back then and how songs were written with a lot of heart and depth of being sincere with so much expression...wish those days would come back, music such a great gift .

  • hey love to all my chicago westside people who know about steppin

  • @msmocha11 What's steppin got to do with 'Lil Steveland?

  • ~> <3 this song ^_^

...So glad Stevie Wonder and Jamie Foxx will be performing a duet on Oprah!

  • Aaaah oh how I love you Stevie!!!!!!!!

  • The best thing about being raised in this generation is that after listening to songs out now, and then listening to these songs you get to realize how good these songs are. But, at the same time, not living back then I feel we can't truly appreciate or understand how special these songs were. Nevertheless, I truly love this song.

  • I found love when this song was out ,I was 14 and strange how this song still sounds so amazing and yes I in still in love with the same person. Thanks for the posting.

  • Hey Love Cousin. Love You And Miss You! Think About You Everyday!

  • Reminds me of a long lost love whom I truly loved in every way. This was our song. We played every time we made love.

  • OH YESSSSSSSSSS. ONLY ONE STEVIE IN THE WORLD!! LUV IT!!

  • HOLY SHIT!!! THIS IS CLASSIC!

  • WELL UNDER RATED CLASSIC.

  • hey love..

  • 1ST OFF: Thx for posting.

Stevie has this thing that he does to my eardrums....EAR-GASMS.

I'm getting ready to use an oxymoron but what the hell... Stevie's music

seems to hurt me really good! Stevie really sings to the SOUL of his

listeners! I know that there has got to be a God b/c how does 1 who

becomes blind stroke those keys like someone born attached to a piano?!

He also amazes me b/c he always shows such humility to be so gifted!

This is by far 1 of my favs of S.W. This is MUSIC!

    LOVE

  • Wow I have not heared this CLASSIC ina LONG TIME!!!!

  • I am in Love with this song, just purchased the greatest hit CD, to play at my B'day Party, when my mother heard it , she smiled and said that this is one of her favorites song. Thanks Stevie, please come to Jacksonville, Florida

  • 1 of my ALL TIME fave stevie songs! sooooo sweet, simple and BEAUTIFUL!!!! *sigh* they dont make music like this no mo', but all praises to the almightly that it EXISTS!

  • Your accoustics and clarity are awesome johnnywalker

  • One of the greats. It syas everything I wanted to say to that special one but didn't have the guts back then. Gee, what a haunting melody as well. One of my favorites.

  • Wonder-ful

  • Stevie is one of the greats, at least me he is.

  • 5 DISLIKES ,those peop[le most be deaf cuz stevie is a musical genius

  • stevie is the best ever. thank you for gracing my life with your spirit. that's soul right there!

  • Love love love!

  • Memories...this 1 is 2 my d-lo..

  • totally kool song

  • i remember hearing this one.

  • I really dislike how some people, not necessarily anyone here, say that young people these days dont appreciate good music. I'm 19, and this is one of my favorite songs, and Stevie wonder is by far my favorite artist. I don't usually leave comments on these, I just wanted to let people know that not everyone from my generation has bad taste in music.

  • @militek1 true that. my love for music stays in the 60s to the 80's.

  • @militek1 Actually some people have said that, I haven't said it though. I love this song and Stevie Wonder is IMHO is one of the greatest musicians of our time.

  • @militek1 me too!! im 12 , and if i ask my friends who's stevie wonder, they'll say, what??

  • @comihuwaLOL your friends need to be educated on Mr. Wonder & many others :) Tell them to ride on the musical high

  • @militek1 THANK YOU! I love you for this, I'm 20 & I adore music from the 60s and so on.

  • @militek1

not to mention that not ALL good music is reserved for the 1960s/70s/80s.

there is a lot of beautiful music, always.

  • AND GOD BLESS YOU 4 HAVING THE KNOWLEDGE!!!

  • @militek1 I for one, know better...Youngsters (not meaning to sound condescending) not only have a great appreciation for the music of my time, they do a pretty decent job of reproducing it...As a musician of that time, I appreciate you!

  • wow, i had no idea this was stevie's song. i remember r kelly singing this back in the early 90's. this is definitely a better version than r kelly's

  • Miramonte, Edison, Fremont, Savoy Skating ring.......Tacos, brother, sister, mama, grandma, grandpa, nana, aunites, cousins.....This song takes me through a lot of good times.......My youth was golden!!

  • This song made me feel all kinds of good inside. Sweet baby Jesus....

  • Sing it!

  • This was a great song around Christmas. But then anything from the late 60's, early 70's reminds me of Christmas. Didn't get many presents, but spending the day with family was the best gift of all. I still remember the crazy relatives of that period. Also, check out "Blowing in the Wind". IMO Stevie simply stole that one from Dylan.

  • He just turned 60 .. Stevie Wonder was 16 when this came out. Who knows how young he was when he wrote it. He is the pentacle of music. There is no other Stevie Wonder.

  • oldies is who I am, even though this was an oldie that i didn't know but now it's one of my favorites. i'm that kind of person that you pull up next to and i'm going at it like I'm in concert. HEY LOVE would bo one of them rolla 's that I would be jamming too.

  • I love this!!!!!

  • One of his best!!!

  • Reminds me of my eternal crush back in 67-68 that I never had the nerve to approach; even though he hinted that I might have had a chance--go figure. I will always wonder and regret what if; yet that is tempered by the fact that I knew I wasn't ready to deal with gettihg my heart broken; better left in fantasy forever; so here's to the most beautiful guy in high school, or perhaps the world; except for my hubby whom I love dearly.

  • it was cool that De La cut this back in the day to introduce Stevie to those not knowing his range, but wow, I would have left this flower alone if I were the Plugs out of incredible respect.... all i can say is amazing..

  • @Dre5x

What amazes me is that some people (5) of them can give this song a negative vote!! Some people are just so mean spirited they would knock a handicapped person down. F***** sorry assed losers!!!

  • I know what I'm singing for my first cover on Youtube. :)

  • This song is magical. It captured and still captures the feeling of the era in which it was recorded. It still sounds just as good as the day that I first heard it back in the 60s. The amazing genius of Stevie Wonder. Thanks for posting!!

  • How could you not have preteen and teenage fantasies about love back then.

  • Remembering that summer in Detroit, what a time that was, we were alot younger, and life was alot different.....Hey Love, I remember.

  • Man, this takes me back to summertime in Pittsburgh. Me and the fellas hangin out drinking some Iron City.

Those were great times. I feel sorry for the kids today.

  • Back when music was really music.

  • you gotta play this in a lowrider!! westside style!!

  • Kwame did a piece with the same title as this back in the day! I used to mix this instrumental with everything too.

  • this song is never old . i remember this from when i was a teenager, thinking of my first love.

  • Again a masterpiece as far as lyrics, music, and standing the test of time! One of Stevie's finest at such a young age!

  • wow this reminds me of bing lil,,,,while us rugrats were running around playing tag at like 2in the morning, uncles and aunts and momma drinking and talking bout when they were younger,,,good ol' dayzz,,,dam i miss those dayzz!!

  • Grew up on 70's and 80's Stevie. I hadn't heard this song until I purchased a compilation CD. I was hooked. Played it over and over. Sounds very "60's"

  • I love this song!

  • I think this was sampled by De la Soul. I can see elements of this song in "That Girl" 14 years later. Long live Stevie! Thanks.

  • One of the greatest cha-cha records of all-time!! I've seen some of the smoothest steps ever dropped,on this slice!

    Great posting

  • Early Stevie... We knew he was destined for greatness !

  • This is my favorite Stevie Wonder song too.

  • This is one of my Fav Stevie songs CLASSIC!!!! Not many ppl know this song.

  • 44 years later its still timeless

  • @oralee95 Very!

  • Soul music is a beautiful thing ain't it?

  • I used to play this 45 over and over - I think it was the "B" side of a bigger hit but Hey Love was my favorite.

  • @Damali5610 the b side was the A song

  • @Damali5610 I'm thinking it's on the flip side of "Uptight." I was just sitting here myself tryng to remember what it was the flip side to and I think it's "Uptight." But, I played it over and over, too. LOL!!! I loved it then. Still do. In fact, I think I'll listen to it once more - for the good times!

  • @CheckMate657879 - actually "Purple Raindrops" is on the other side of "Uptight".

  • @CheckMate657879 - actually "Purple Raindrops" is on the other side of "Uptight".

  • Take's me back to Jefferson High in L.A.

  • 1966 stevie must have been about 15 or so . and this guy was putting hits out like this " firme rolla " [ bad ass song ] . dispite his loss of sight this man has been truly blessed ........

  • @pajado75 First time I heard this track i heard it performed by R Kelly, and was blown away. But i knew Kelly didnt write it - i was not surprised to know that it was Stevie my lifelong idol that penned it,.

  • @DolceVita matthew chapter 12 verse 36 dont idol anyone but nice song and stevie the man

  • @pajado75 ...Musical genius & prodigy !!!

  • @pajado75 I couldn't help but agree with you pajado75, but I must tell you, he never lost his sight. He just never had sight from the beginning. He was a premature baby, and the retinas on his eyes didn't develop fully. So he was blind even before he could see.
