  • I have an option of buying a used D60 for a reasonable price. I haven't owned a DSLR before but I have done my research bout the basic stuff I need to know like aperture, shutter speed, ISO etc. Would you recommend to buy a used D60? (It's in good condition)

  • I am selling my nikon d60 on ebay only 18 hours left Ebay Item Number 150707940635

  • @DjBuzz102

I would not thank you for a D60. Very average camera. Only 3 Autofocus points and you cant use non-motorised lens on the body. (Well you can but they won't autofocus)

I sold mine for £200 in MINT condition boxed with a 18-55 lens. To be honest I though this was a good price for a very average camera.

  • @DjBuzz102 Just looked at your eBay advert...£290 plus £5 for p&p. So you want £295 for this camera ...YOU WISH!

I value your camera at around the 200 quid mark! 220 quid MAXIMUM.

  • Hi, my work just gave me a d60 to photograph with

    1 question:

Can I permanetly set the image size to 640x480, the "fine" "normal" and "basic" sizes are way to big for the job I'm doing, and its a pain to resize every picture from the menu options. The D60 does have options for 640x480 (and smaller) just not anywhere, where it allows you to set it as default. Only in the editing options is this resizing feature found.

Help, I dont want to resize pictures the rest of my life!

  • wowww!i love the this camera :)! Do you know you can make Time Lapse Photography with this camera?

These guys have an infrared remote time-lapse device for all cameras: tempusALL.bymac.org

    sweet!! :P

  • How to focus the object in Nikon CoolPix L120 ??

  • does it have live view?

  • @Jcbproducoes no. i have it, it doesnt have live view

  • @vainparasite the Nikon d60 was my first SLR camera for Christmas and would like to answer your questions, yes there is a fully auto mode where advanced controls like iso and White balance are taken care of and basic controls of a point and shoot camera are left to you, also, I find that if you are starting off on dlsr cameras then the d60 is an excellent choice for beginners to intermediate photographers :)

  • Hi im looking for a dslr and have seen a d60 2nd hand locally with 18-55 lense for £200. I know extremely little about dslr's but would love to learn more so i have a few questions, Is there a fully auto point and shoot mode to use until i get to grips with it? and is it a good choice of starter? I will be taking it to florida later this year and i was a little dissapointed with the shots i could get with my compact last time especially at low light with light in the far background.

  • Can this camera live stream to a computer using the USB port? thanks!

  • Which one would you prefer, this one or Canon EOS 7D?

  • Great explanations...thanks for this...!

  • how long does the battery last?

  • I have this camera more a year and I love it! I have tried NIkon D90 and olmpus but this is the best one Nikon d60.

  • The stop frame animation feature is pretty cool :)

  • this nikon d60 is not that great. my aunt has one, i used to use it until i found the canon SX2010. its amazing! the nikon doesnt show clear pictures or it doesnt show the exact features of the person.

  • WITCH IS BETTER D3000 OR D60

  • @physco479 D60

  • thankyou very much for this!

  • Is the nikon d60 a dx or fx format body

  • @Rycon1994 DX body. Nikon D700 and the D3 series are the only FX bodies.

  • Comment removed

  • do ya need the lens

or can ya just use the body?

  • @ChiquitaTheBanana You need a lens attached.

  • It combats "doost". XD

  • my cousin has this camera, and seems rlly good , the quality of photos are fine :D

  • does it take video?

  • Wait... did D60 stop just because D3000 shares the same functions?

  • Has this product been removed from the production line or something? I find it harder to find D60 now. Even on the official Nikon site, D60 is no longer shown on their "Product" list.

  • By far , which is better , D60 or D3000?

  • that was the best camera review! thank you very much!

  • For timelapse video's you can use the free program Camera Control 4.0. You hook the camera too your laptop using the USB cable and the program takes the pictures. You can choose how many pictures and what interval it should use. Also other settings like iso, shutterspeed, etc.

  • @RubenCraninx yeah its stupid not to use your laptop haha

  • Thank you so much for your videos. Im a beginner and dont even know how to begin but because of your videos, I now can. Amazing videos. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

  • I've got this camera and it is Awesome!.

I'm getting great results out of this camera.

This is my first SLR camera.

It is perfect for beginners but it is also great for professionals.

  • is there a way to turn the LED screen on so you can see what your taking a picture of through it, like all the other digital cameras? i just got mine and i cant figure it out :[

  • @nikkiraquelle no, you want a point and shoot for that.

  • @nikkiraquelle hahahahaha, did you not look at wether it had live view or not ?

  • its called live view, and entry level DSLRs usually do not have that feature.

  • @nikkiraquelle

No that feature is called live view, and you dont run into that feature until you get into the D5000/D90+

  • i feel like james bond...

and im being introduced to some new gadget..

    very nice

  • @kkeithhh He looks a bit like Q :D

  • @kkeithhh and when you press this button here, A small rocket will shoot out and hit whatever you have been focused on causing a small nuclear explosion.

  • Hi Cameralabs! You guys are one astounding place and I'm very thankfull for all the videos. I recently just purchased (finally) my Nikon d60. I'm enjoying much more than my d40x AND even my d90! Once again thank you!

  • does D 60 hv life view?

  • @kattys

    no

  • Im looking at getting a DSLR camera as im getting more into photography and it would help loads in my art. Im 16 and need some advice on a good DSLR that is not to complicated??

  • d5000

  • what's the fastest shutter speed available--d60, d90, other brands?

  • is this true?

i saw this statement in one of the reviews for Nickon D60.....(Since the D60 is half as light sensitive, the D60 has to use twice as long a shutter speed or a larger aperture, which makes it more likely to make a blurry picture than the D40),

    i need an honest answer..

  • I don't believe this is true. the d60 is the new d40, so it probably has higher iso settings meaning the it is more sensitive to light, i don't think its half as sensitive, that would be retarded for a new model.

  • thank you!

  • No problem, but if anything its not as sensitive as the d40 because of a sensor size maybe, but i doubt it, prolly more sensitive considering its a new and "improved" cam.

  • help me...what is better for beginners..d40 or d60?

  • d40

  • doesn't matter.

the d40 and the d60 are both good cameras. you could find a good deal with both of them.

use bing shopping or google shopping.

  • nikon d60, sony a230,

    which is better? for beginner,

    help mee pleaseeeeee !

  • the d60 is better for a beginner it has simple controls and is really good to learn on with it automatic and manual focus settings. i have a d60 and i love it always go with a Nikon.

  • the d60 is a bit cheaper you could find a good deal. on it.

the a230 is a nice camera but has expensive lenses.

you could even settle for the nikon d40.

but the canon rebel xs has live view.

  • D60は使いやすいし初心者向きですね。私も持っています。私が思うに、日本人の技術者達はプライドがあります。

    さすが、某半島のパクリ製品とは違いますw!

This camera is very easy to use.

    I have a one,too.

Japanese technical experts are with prides and Its industrial products are different from a certain KORE○N COUNTRY!

  • getting this tomorow,cant wait!!!

  • cool, how's the d60!?

  • Actually it's only North Americans who pronounce it Nyekon. Remember it's a Japanese company and they pronounce it Neekon.

  • Oh, I forgot about that.

    :S Excuse my ignorance.

    Well I never knew that

  • @cameralabs Wow You just got handled

  • @cameralabs yup, Japanese pronuounce it as Nee, because if it''s Nyekon then it should be spelled as Naikon

  • @DontForgetMeLindsayx haha wow you just failed that big time... In japan... it's Neekon... British English speaking people generally say Nickon... Us americans... we completely missed it and said Nyekon.

  • @DontForgetMeLindsayx learn japanese u bitch there is no NIH only NI (NEE) in Japanese u retarded asscrap

  • @DontForgetMeLindsayx you suck!

  • Comment removed

  • I bought it and I was sorry to have bought it without asking the experts.I sold it off.

  • this or sony a330 ??

  • this or the canon eos 1000d?

  • of course d60

  • I bought a d60 4 months ago and ive notices a few dead pixels both in the viewing screen and in the actual images. is this going to cause a problem for me in the future? should i take advantage of my warranty and get Nikon to have a look at it?

  • yes

  • id send it in to have Nikon look at it, it's worth every penny if you use your warranty.

  • clean your ccd sensor with a air pump not a COMPRESSED AIR CAN youll ruin it if you use a Compressed air can. use a pump. from like henrys blacks. etc.

  • so is it caused by dust on the sensor? i think i will give it a clean

  • Dont clean it your self take it to henry's or where u bought it from and tell em to clean it.

  • with the stop motion movie...surely you can you your combine more than one movie together...(if that is what you wanna do and take forever on it)

  • great review, but how do you get into continuous shooting mode ? like for sequence pictures ?

  • Navigate the menus. Below the ISO menu is the Release Mode menu.

  • alroight thanks man !

  • there is a burst shooting option that will take 3 shots per second

  • No you can't. The cheapest Nikon DSLR with video is the D5000.

  • flagstaffffatsgalf : i just bought a Nikon D60 so far i love it!! it will be hard to tell which one is better for me.. i like canon i was about to get the canon xti or Xsi but i got D60...they are both good cameras and will always compete to each other...

  • which one you think is better? nikon or canon?

  • depends on you.you'll never be able to say it for sure...it's like saying Witch is better,ADIDAS or NIKE...they both have good cameras...

  • d60 or d90? hmm...

    great review, really helpful :]

  • nikon d60 or canon rebel XS

  • how come my continous shooting stops after the 4th picture?

  • you need a high speed sd memory card

  • how do you do the continuous shooting mode?

  • gettin my d60 in 2 weeks on monday i cant wait i will do a vid of it and do a vid of all the pics i have took

  • The D60 Is a great camera it has a great featues at a great price. I will upload a video of mine soon

  • Please, people have asked this question but not answered. Nikon d60 or canon 450d xsi?????

  • Flag, it's a personal preference. I've used them both and I prefer the Canon XSi. My sister also recently purchased one and she loves it. It's a great camera and you can get some awesome deals on it. Google is your friend. :)

  • nikon d60 or nikon p90???

  • How are you going to use it? I recommend the D60. But that's just me.

  • I want to buy the D60 just for a good hobby with pictures. Besides I want my pics to come out clear...

  • Can't wait till i get this camera :D

  • Nikon D60 Or Canon Rebel XS

  • Thanks for the review, very informative. Keep up the good work!

  • i'm looking to get a DLSR soon which one do u suggest for beginners... Nikon D60 or Canon 450d?

  • nikon

  • niiiiiiiiiiikon, not nkon

  • actually he says it right

its us americans that say it wrong

  • Very true. It's a japanese brand after all. XD

  • QUESTION!

    NIKON D60 or OLYMPUS E-520??????

  • nikon d60, omg its sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good, ive done several events and parties and all the pictures have come out good, its almost impossible to take a bad picture with the nikon lol

  • thanx man, cheers

  • anytime, always there to help a photographer lol :)

  • I just ordered mine today and I think I did a wise decision...

  • question;

    does it have live view?

  • yes it has the digital one and live view is right on top of it. I will be getting it in a few days, I got it at bestbuy online. From what I been reading this is the camera to have for entry level photography.

  • i hear there is no live veiw on this camera.. i havent gotten mine in yet though.

  • i just got mine yesterday its amazingly awsome... very satisfied

  • I have to buy a camera for my design classes. I've used the D40 all through high school. Now I'm looking to own this myself. A friend has a Cannon, and since I'm used to Nikon he suggested this, and I'm loving what I see.

  • i gonna buy tis D60 soon...

  • Very good review and video, I enjoyed all 9 minutes. I am thinking about buying my first DSLR and have been searching all over for various info about these advance cameras. So far I really like the D60!

  • what do you prefer for beginners?? the

d60 or the canon 450d? thanks.

  • which camera would u recommend? its my first dslr. the nikon d60 or sony a330?

  • Hi trackrunner908, I haven't reviewed the new Sonys yet, so can't comment, but the models I'd recommend right now are in the best buys section at cameralabs . com. PS - no need to post the same question twice.

  • Woops didn't mean to double post. Thanks for the reply

  • Hey Gordon how long would it take an already novice photographer to out grow this camera? I've grown up using a 35mm SLR camera and I have enough experience to use it in full manual. Should my first DSLR be the D60 or the higher spec D80/90?

  • It's impossible to say how long it would take you to outgrow it, but remember it still has full manual control, so there's plenty to play with. I'd only go for the D90 if you can make use of its benefits over the D60, like the video, faster fps, better AF and viewfinder etc. Feel free to discuss this further on the cameralabs forums...

  • hey im a beginner at slr's

which brand is bettering for new users

    Canon or Nikon?

    please help!!!

  • I believe Nikon but that's just my preference. :D

I'm surrounded by both and it seems Nikon for quite a few reasons stated in this review.

    :}

  • Its a matter of preference really. When it comes down to it, they all do the same thing. I like Cannons image stabilizer, but Nikon has that to in the D60. Just pick one and go with it.

  • is the olympus e-520 better than this one?

  • i now it's a stupid question but ... d60 haves a live view ??????????

  • nope.

  • its my b'day and i got my new nikon d60 i love it (PHOTOGRAPHY ROKS!!!!!)

    keep the reviews commin' gordon!

  • In the long run is the d60 a good DSLR to have and is there room for improvement. Im looking to buy one as my first DSLR.

  • mine just came today, lookin forward to it

  • hi gordon i have on for casual but its sad the speed is still slow, but anyway it does a good work i advise D80 or 90 for a bit more satisfaction

  • Hey i was just wondering if you would recomend this camera for a beginner to an introduction to D SLR's?

  • Hey everyone i just did a video about the nikon D60... Please come and check it out...

    Thanks

  • its a great camera

ive done some lovely shots with it

just a tip from a long time user

    not many flaws

  • does the 3fps in continuous shooting mode slow down after a while???

  • It gets around 4-6 straight shots and then stops, 5-6 are a little bit slower

  • Bravoo cameralabs!!!

  • i gave this to my dad as an early parents day present, but really ive been using it the most, wow what a fucking amazing camera, beautiful but... if you dont use the flash the picture is dark and the continous shooting is not too good

  • With live View you tend to hold camera away from your body like a snap and shoot. Not comfortable for SLR's. I think you want to keep close. Compose, shoot.

Thought live view is important but dont think so now.

  • i love D60 dslr camera Nikonaazz....!!!!!!

  • Can anyone tell me that, does this camera have a live view option?

  • it does NOT have live view...

  • i just got my D60 just now! im so in love with it. I tried both at the shop. D60 and canon's 450D. I just prefer the D60 due to some reasons. It all depends on what type of photography you wanna do. =)

  • Gonna get either the Canon 450D or this. Dunno yet, meh.

  • good day cameralab i do have a little problem right now choosing the right camera between the d60 and the 1000d which camera do i hook up this two lovely cameras and it would be my first DSLR camera i been in photography for 1 year now i just decide to purchase my first DSLR camera but iam stuck with this two glorious camera so straight to the point i need your advices and suggestion which one do i get. the d60 or the 1000d

  • Check out the verdict page for my 1000D / XS review at cameralabs . com - I've compared them there.

  • Great reviews! I watched most of them! Im torn between the Sony Alpha 300 and the Nikon D60. Any thoughts... recommendations? should i just forget them both. go large and get a D90... keep up the good work... laters..

  • Thanks! It depends what features you're after - check the verdict pages for each review you're interested in at cameralabs . com and it'll compare them.

  • I love my D60! I'm glad I got this rather than the Canon XS

  • i saw this camera for 500

  • hey everyone, I have a big question.

I have this 28-200 mm lense from Tokina and I really want to know if it fits on the d60 so can anyone tell if it does? I have an old nikon film camera ca. from the 80s and it fits on there fine. I don't really care about the autofocus and all that since I can manual focus it but I just need to know if the 80's lenses are adaptable with the current lenses. thanks so much for anyone who can tell me.

  • Nice review, should i buy

Canon EOS 450D, or Nikon D60???

  • Thanks for this awesome review and especially the preview of Stop motion camera settings.

  • Hey Gorden.. which camera would you recommend for a beginner level photographer a Nikon D60 or the Canon Xs

  • There's pros and cons to both - check out my reviews of both at cameralabs . com and also our best buys section there... feel free to discuss your options on the cameralabs forums!

  • Great Video. Short and to the point. Great quality of both audio and image. Thanks, for sharing it.

  • This is a high image quality video. What are you using to tape this?

  • A Sony HCR 96E, but check out my latest videos, filmed in HD with a Canon HV30...

  • canon made by engineers

    nikon made by photographers

  • Hi Gordon. Have they now discontinued the d40?

  • The D40 and D60 will both be phased-out in favour of the D5000...

  • does it have a live view mode??

  • No. I'll always demo the LV facility if it has one.

  • no it doesnt have a live view, the canon 1000D does, but this doesnt

  • What is LV anyway
