  • awesome...I also play the hank drum and started a group on soundcloud. The group can be found at soundcloud with the name of the group "propane-tank-hank-drum-music". Any one feel free to join the group to either post some songs, or just listen to the beautiful music created with hank drums

  • can i make a "hang drum" for myself at home? if i can, where can i find "how to make instructions"?

  • nice sound indeed!

how did you manage to have the different tones?

  • sounds real nice, kinda popish sound, glasy ...

  • Have you tried it with a few different types of mallets? It may sound interesting.

  • Wow!!!!!!!! The aluminum has a much sharper and bright sound. Great rhythm arrangement from :32 to :45. Very nice. Curious to hear the steel and Aluminum tanks played together.

  • that's in my opinion a great scale, can i ask what the specific notation is? o_o

  • most tones sound s nice and brite, only one or two semi-dead ones. Thx for sharing.

  • Cool. What is the tuning on that?

  • i was your 3,333 veiwer

  • VERY Eastern in sound.

  • i am having trouble cutting out the tungs. do you have any hints on how to cuts the tungs out.

  • i would love to know how to tune my tank. i just started to build one... but i am finding it hard to get info on making the cuts for the notes

  • Great, another type of these drums. good high sound. I make some similar instruments too, also with aluminium. Would love to hear it with mallets.

  • At first I was like "oh man he doesn't know how to play anything!"

then you picked it up and I like "Oh thank god"

  • @razorcloud same here! :)

  • very cool! Could you tell me a little more about the material? Love the high notes. Thats the one thing about the standard hank that I have been unhappy with. Thanks!

  • That sounds great. It would kill your finger tips after a long play session though. At least it looks like you are having to hit the tongues quite hard to get the tone. Perhaps some mallets would be better. Sounds absolutely great in my opinion.

  • best i've heard! I like it!

  • i actually think this plays the higher register much better than a propane tank, except for the highest note. sounds great in my opinion

  • This plays a peculiar sound. It is wonderful.

  • Very nice Forsyte.
