Even though they cut out a lot of horrific scenes because it was made for TV and also PG13, I have to say it is a good one. Can't always compare it to the novel. I look forward to the 2011 Rated R version, even though I doubt it will be better than the original since a lot of Hollywood remakes are shitty today.

The book deals with different universes, prehistoric times, gods, and a shitload of other mind blowing things that the movie did not capture. the book is the biggest mindfuck on the planet, its long, but if you like mindfucks like inception, read the book, it will make inception look like barney.

Also, the book was much scarier. Stephen King REALLY got into details. You guys think this movie was terrifying?!?!?!? You wouldn't last the book. They cut out scenes from the book because they were too "explicit." Fortunately, they are currently doing a remake of this film, and it will be out in 2011. The new film will be an "R" rated movie, so one could guess some of the more, "explicit" scenes shall be returning.

Can somebody explain me why the clown's name is Pennywise, but the characters calls him "IT"? Is something about the book?

Pennywise The Dancing Clown is one of his, well, nom de plumes, if you will. They call him "It" because he's not REALLY a clown. It is a shape-shifting monster, only capable for children to see (and not adults) because children BELIEVE in fairy tales, the Boogey Man, and so on. Adults don't, so in the book, that's why adults can't see him. It also states that when the characters get older, they aren't able to have kids, because they are still "children" and they can still see him
