Liz Phair name checks Galaxie 500 in her song Stratford-On-Guy from Exile in Guyville. I remember the name from that way back when, but I've never heard the band until today (as a suggestion through Luna's vids). If you wandered into Galaxie 500 check out Luna's Slide over in the suggestions, and also the above album if you haven't.
I saw Bob at Euston station, north London, must have been 2004. His biggest regret, like mine, not seeing The Smiths when he had the opportunity. But life is ok. as long as you have a roof, decent surroundings, fresh water, G500 on the old stereo, life`s fuckin sweet/
i love this song

I love so much Galaxie 500. I discovered it with this video. And I'm seeing Dean Wareham playing Galaxie 500 in 3 days. Can't wait.

I remember hearing the '89 Peel Session and rushing out to buy 'Today' on the strength of this one track...
RIP John Peel and thank you for introducing so many great bands to the world.

About four years ago I tried to get into this band and failed. This song has dismissed my earlier views as pure stupidity. Bloody great!

Too right, mate. The cover of "Submission" is up there with the most inspired ever.
